Sometimes a bunch of people shouting "I'm not going to take this shit anymore!" is a catalyst to bigger change. If you're the CEO of a major corporation and have a gold bathtub full of money, then good for you. However, I think Poverty, Healthcare, and Education should be a governments top priority. If we were capable of getting every person a home to sleep in and an education, then how much money a CEO makes does not concern me. I don't think it's right to let people die of exposure and hunger in a 1st world country. It seems kind of hypocritical to me. I don't think we should limit how much money a person can make, though I think we need stricter enforcement to make sure they pay their fair share. Cut spending on pointless crap and reroute spending to Education, Healthcare, and combating poverty. While there are poor people that perhaps are their on their own accord, and abuse the system. Not everyone is a looser or abuser. There are good honest people, some even with Ph.Ds that are homeless because they got fucked over in one way or another. I strongly disagree with totally equalizing everyone's earnings, but I think we need to get people out of boxes and homeless shelters. Give people the tools needed to succeed. You could probably build a very basic apartment building, give it away to homeless people under an IOU, make them get their GED/sign up for a trade school of their choosing, then get them a job and have them pay you back in 10-15 years. Hell, you could probably do that with people that aren't even homeless. The country needs people in a good Trade. So lets give them the tools to succeed. It would be a voluntary program saying they'll have to get an education and job so they can eventually start making payments on their apartment. At least it would be better then their refrigerator box or highway overpass.

I am surprised with everyone who says, "Oh, what can this small group do." All revolutions were started, or initiated by a small group. Heck even the Nazi party started off as a few individuals. Interesting little thing on anonymous, but not unexpected. http://rt.com/news/anonymous-wall-street-attack-117/
I know that because I am republican, Christian, and well off my views and opinion here don't matter, but why are you supporting this? It won't accomplish anything. If you truly wanted to protest this you wouldn't do something as pointless as this. Sure it hurts those terrible evil corporations right? Nope, not really. All you're doing is providing for the attention whore of a news media the US has. You aren't fighting to save a country, you're sitting there wasting time that you could spend doing something that might make a difference. I maybe be a terrible person in your opinion but in mine, you're wasting your time and mine. Just to be clear, not trolling, trying to get a point across which I likely failed at.
I don't understand why you have to point this out all the time. It's not necessary.

Well the protest started in Wall Street and grew to several other cities so it's clear a large group of people support the cause and it's continuing to grow.
I am so sick of hearing about anonymous, they're the most annoying and useless group out there. Bunch of kiddies pretending they matter.
Yes and that why I said it was not unexpected that something like that happened. As for another article, Douglas Rushkoff posted a very well though out article on why the way the protests is running like it is. http://edition.cnn.com/2011/10/05/opinion/rushkoff-occupy-wall-street/ Also my mind nearly blew up after reading this comment on the article.
This is America....the land of capitalism....I want CEOs and bankers making as much money as possible. If you don't like it, don't complain and be lazy. Work hard and succeed like they did. It's not your tax dollars going to pay their salaries. The market controls salaries and its paid for by the companies. Just come out and say what this is about...the desire of these socialist weirdos to redistribute wealth from hard working bankers and corporate executives who already carry the overwhelming tax burden in this country...and if you don't have a job...don't blame my buddy at BofA...blame yourself and your parents for not raising a smart, hard working person who killed themselves in school and grad school like all the people with the high paying jobs on wall street...
:suicide:
They played a pretty big role in the scientology protests.
So? You want me to be impressed?
You're father is an idiot.
Are you serious. You're is a contraction of You are. Your is a possessive adjective. Its not even my first language. Zut Alors.
So? You want me to be impressed?
Well you said they were useless, he gave a reason they weren't, in order to inform you. Nobody cares if you're impressed.
Are you serious. You're is a contraction of You are. Your is a possessive adjective. Its not even my first language. They didn't change anything; hell, they didn't even fucking have an idea what they were trying to change. Besides bomb threats, threatening to kill and hurt individual members of the church, and hold signs with meme's up, they did nothing of any value. They are useless.
Oh no, a spelling mistake. WHAT EVER WILL WE DO Here, let me try. You said "Its" when it's supposed to be It's See, I can point out asinine typos.
haha! Wrong again. Its is a possessive adjective. It's is a contraction of "it is" or "it has". Thus I was correct. That is amazing. You tried to call me out using the same exact same mistake I pointed out to you.
what no you were wrong in your usage of its unless you've gained the ability to possess "not even my own language"
haha! Wrong again. Its is a possessive adjective. It's is a contraction of "it is" or "it has". Thus I was correct. That is amazing. You see, mine was a mindless error I typed and didn't realise it. I understand I'm sure President Sarkozy is thanking you for your wilful mastery of the English grammar and your ability to see a mild typo. Unless you have a real argument or anything at all that is of any relevance, at all, to the thread, just keep it to yourself, fou. [editline]5th October 2011[/editline]
I mean the protests now consist of holding up signs and marching around, but that doesn't make it any less significant. Scientology has done absolutely nothing to warrant death and bomb threats, or protesting even. What were they protesting?
So what's happening in Boston today? On my way home I heard on the radio that there's gonna be a protest and they're encouraging college students to join. Too bad finding parking at 2:30 in the afternoon will be impossible, otherwise I would have gone. :v:
This also generates discussion for an actual threat. Scientology has done absolutely nothing to warrant death and bomb threats, or protesting even. What were they protesting?
Okay let's play that game. Kyle Thomas Brennan Kyle Brennan was a young man who suffered from depression. He lived with his mother as his father (a scientologist) lived in Clearwater Florida to be close to the organization’s headquarters. The father regularly sent Scientology materials to his son which Kyle considered ridiculous. Kyle visited his father for a holiday and died in his care. According to Kyle’s mother: “I am uncertain as to what unfortunate events led to the tragic death of my dear son, who at the time was staying with his Scientologist father. I can say that his depression medication was not found on his person when the police searched the crime scene. I was also informed that when Kyle’s father found him he waited forty-five minutes before calling for medical assistance. He called a fellow Scientologist first, and then waited for him to arrive on the scene before calling an ambulance or the police. “ Elli Perkins On March 13, 2003, Jeremy Perkins, a 28 year old untreated schizophrenic, stabbed his mother Elli 77 times. She bled to death on her bedroom floor. Jeremy is currently being held at Rochester Psychiatric Center, having been found not responsible for Elli’s murder by reason of mental disease or defect. Jeremy, under the care of the CoS was taking vitamins for his mental disorder, rather than his prescribed schizophrenia medicine. Josephus Havenith An autopsy report lists his death as “probable drowning” but notes that his head was not under water. He died in February 1980 at the Scientology Fort Harrison Hotel in a bathtub filled with water so hot it had burned his skin off. -No picture for Heribert- Heribert Pfaff According to the records, Heribert P. died august 28, 1988, during the night from a heavy epileptic attack. He hit his head on the night table. The scientology doctor reports that he prescribed vitamins for his patient -despite regular attacks- instead of treating him with proper medication. Such medication was indeed not detected in his blood during the post-mortem examination. And the most well known on this forum: Lisa McPherson On December 5, 1995, Lisa McPherson died. Scientology had held her against her will for 17 days. During that time, she tried to leave, became violent, and refused to eat. At the time of her death, she had bruises and abrasions on her body, and she had lost over 30 pounds in just 17 days.
Not a single one of these deaths were "commissioned" or purposely done by the actual church of Scientology. Most religions have had people do bad things in their name or stupid things. Where are the 4chan losers for Mosques, churches and the like? And again, what were they even protesting? That some people from the church are morons who got someone killed because they're too stupid to take necessary channels? [editline]5th October 2011[/editline] And don't pretend people from "anonymous" are somehow on the moral high ground in this. These people have their heads so far up their ass, they treat their little internet community like a cult.
Can we get off the mother fucking Church of Scientology? They'll lead themselves into oblivion in some years anyway.
