Perhaps it is "what happens", but in any society that perpetuates the idea that it is free and democratic, it should not be the case. That is why they're fighting against it, you understand.

You'd need to be fucking crazy to write half that shit and completely crazy to believe it.
Sam Adams.
In case some of you missed that day in American History:
I find this coincidence amusing.
I wasn't aware this guy did anything other than beer
Irony is Anon only adopted V for their look because of the movie which even the creator thought didn't give the comics message.
And Guy Fawkes just wanted to prop up a Catholic Theocracy, not exactly a bastion of anarchy or freedom.
And Guy Fawkes just wanted to prop up a Catholic Theocracy, not exactly a bastion of anarchy or freedom.
Amusingly enough, had Guy Fawkes succeeded he would have indirectly put a dictatorship in place once the leaders left behind had recovered from the shock, and they would have set about on pogroms to kill every single last catholic man, woman and child.
This is a good example of not how to act:

You don't need more negative media fuel like that.

I would not be surprised if psychology students follow some of the people on Fox News to see what makes them think the way they do.

What a fucking asshole, people like him shouldn't be in protests as they're a general nuisance for everyone by being an asshole to specific people or trying to provoke the protest to turn into a riot. His arguement is bullshit and hopefully he gets arrested for racism by the police. His reason for his hate is "I do what my heart tells me." FUCK YOU, you should be listening to your brain and not your heart, you're a dumb motherfucker.

To be fair, the old guy did seem to be heckling him with that "why do you hate the corporations? go get a job!" nonsense, and I'm not necessarily sure he was being anti-semitic. He was rude, though, and he shouldn't have been.
I wasn't aware this guy did anything other than beer
Next we'll be learning that Alexander Keith was a mayor or something!
While that guy is being a total asshat, it's sad that a lot of the older generation doesn't understand the force behind the protests. Like my grand mother; she grew up in a time when, for the most part, you could trust almost anything said on the news. She watches fox news all the time and now hates liberals is incredibly right wing and is afraid of the chinese (long story).

He called him a jew, although he did say "I'm a jew." so no idea whats going on there.

It's not especially clear, but both the old guy and the kid were being rude, albeit the kid moreso. It wasn't a pleasant conversation, obviously.

All it takes is for Fox news to get their hands on stuff like that. They could easily twist it.

They did, I saw a very scathing article with that video in it on Fox Nation.

Word from the General Assembly meeting here in my home city is that they had a turnout of at least 250 with five news crews covering it. They're still getting all the information, but that places it up high in activity.
Congressman Paul Broun (R-Georgia) Says the Wall Street protests are an "attack upon freedom":
[release]Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) on Thursday slammed the Occupy Wall Street protests, saying they are an attack on businesses and freedom.
“They don’t know why they’re there. They’re just mad,” Broun said on ABC’s "TopLine.”
“I see people angry in my district too. But this attack upon business, attack upon industry, attack upon freedom and I think that’s what this is all about.”
The president mentioned the protests during his midday news conference Thursday, saying the movement “expresses the frustrations that the American people feel.”
But, the president added, “we have to have a strong, effective financial sector for our economy to work.” He also said the administration hasn’t been more aggressive in prosecuting those on Wall Street involved in the financial crisis because their actions weren’t necessarily illegal, but immoral.
Broun said labor unions are trying to exploit the anger felt by the protesters to help the president in his reelection campaign.
Some unions and Democratic lawmakers have embraced Occupy Wall Street and have shown public support for the protests over the past few days.
Broun spoke to “TopLine” following Obama’s news conference, during which the president again called for Congress to act on his jobs proposal.
When asked if he thought Congress would pass a major jobs bill before the end of the year, Broun said, “I don’t think so.”
“This is just more of the same of [Obama’s] same old failed policies that have not created jobs out in the private sector, it’s not stimulated the economy and it’s just more of the same,” Broun said.
The congressman said he thought Obama’s news conference sounded like a campaign speech against the Republican Party.
Broun slammed the president’s approach to job creation, claiming that Obama’s policies have forced jobs overseas and harmed the economy.
“It’s just inane, it’s insanity to continue doing the same thing over and over again expecting to get different results, and that’s exactly what this president continues to propose,” Broun said.
He blamed Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) for blocking bills proposed by Republicans in the House.
“I don’t think you’re going to see anything get done as long as Harry Reid just sits on the bills that the House passed that will create a stronger economy … they are obstructing what we’re doing here in the House to try to create jobs and try to create a stronger economy.”[/release]

I find it quite sad that he thinks all bills the House GOP produces are job-creating bills.
I find it sad that the media red carpet was rolled out for the racist, hate-driven, astroturfed Tea Party while this time around the media is tripping over themselves trying to discredit them.
occupy atlanta tomorrow
too bad i'm sick :(

You have to give props to Dylan Ratigan, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence O'Donnell for talking about the protests quite a bit though, and in a pretty favourable way. I wouldn't call it a media blackout unless all the major news sources weren't talking about it.

Christian Science Monitor brings up a valid concern: 'Occupy Wall Street': If protesters don't list demands, will they get anything?
This might be why the media took that list and ran with it, they're trying to figure out what their goals are and how to report on them.
That was surprisingly unbiased, if anything pro occupy.
Its weird, he hasn't shown his typical ultra-conservative style. He's actually been rather moderate on this topic from what I've seen.
