Protips for the supporters:
•School does not guarantee your sorry asses wealth, learn something that does.
•Creditcards aren't magic, spend within your means and you wont be so damn poor.
•Things aren't, and shouldn't be, handed to you. Don't expect it.
•Hard work+Dedication+Wise money decisions=wealth. An equation the 'rich people' that you hate (and give you jobs) learned a long time ago.
•Your co-op sucks.
Figure it out.

Most people at that protest are "selfmade" (lmao, look at this guy trying to make buzzwords). But thanks to the economic downturn are out of luck with jobs, and the government aren't doing shit to fix this.
Fuck, they still don't even have proper healthcare in the US, almost every civilized country in the world has decent national healthcare.

I'm not poor and I don't need to be to protest.
Revolutions always slow down progress instead of quickening it.
You're right, just think of the countless other uprisings and major national changes that have come from sitting on the couch all day:

Fuck reading and discussion, lets just shit on America!

Thats kind of a fallacy though. Mass media is one of the major tools used for reporting atrocities.

Revolution =/= doing anything minus sitting on a couch.
Heard of advertising, demonstrations, lobbying, polls, rallies, protests, petitions, votes, strikes, etc?
All of them are non-revolutionary and do not require violent revolution. More can be achieved in 50 years of widespread mass political action than 5 years of revolution/war, followed by years of getting back to the original state then another 50 getting to the intended goal.

I think alot of people fear that if peaceful demonstration does not succeed, something really bad is gonna go down and people are going to be forced into violence and some anarchy.
People should go and make the senators who voted no on it go insane. Someone should just follow the guys every where in a black van.

It sucks how even if there is violence, nothing can really overthrow the American government. The common man doesn't have a modern tank.

I am from England, I went to all of the student riots including the ones at parliament and at the conservative HQ. From my experience I have learned that no amount of violence can overthrow a system that knows how to deal with violence. If you riot in the streets they know how to condemn you, but they do not know how to fully destroy large peaceful protest.
Sucks? How would it be in anyone aside from anarchists best interest to overthrow the government?
If a government knows that it is safe from violent dissent, it's pretty much the first step on the path of corruption. It's not necessarily about overthrowing this government, rather letting them know you could if you wanted to.
I didn't exactly mean overthrow. I was kind of just stating that if some fighting were to be broken out over police violence or the military being called in, it would be swiftly ended and the military would have won. Everything with authority is just so militarized since the cold war.

The police and military aren't robots, they are (as hard as it can be to believe some times) people too, people who will eventually suffer as a result of our flawed systems. If there was a violent revolution that became huge, I don't think the military could do much.
But yeah. From whats been happening in Boston, it will not be a fun time for those police officers and it will only grow and grow by the day.

There's still police forces and the national guard. If the US military needed any help, they could get some buddies or mercenaries to come in.

The common man also doesn't have tanks or armored vehicles.
Has anyone ever budged with their point of view on the internet?
If so, then i've certainly never seen it.
Alas, people and their opinions while may not be accepted, should be respected at least.
I did and I noticed PvtCupcakes leans more to the liberal side of things now.
I guess it's sorta hard to tell because there is so much more to language than letters and sentences on a screen.

Yeah but no amount of violent force could stop a revolution. The things you need to be afraid of are co intel and psychological warfare.
The government should fear the people. That I agree with. Though the more democratic government becomes the less afraid people need be of a large and active government. That is what should be strived for.
All governments fear their people. Why do you think Stalin had the great purges?
