Junk food corps are in it for the money, and what's a better way than making your food legally addictive? MCD is very guilty of this. Their burgers don't taste too good but the shit they put in there makes you crave more.
What? Contrary to what health food stores would like you to believe, McDonalds doesn't put addictive substances in your food. People eat mcd's because it tastes good. Obligatory Penn and Teller video. I dunno if you guys realise this but it's actually fucking cake. Craving more is literally your brain saying "Fuck this shit is great eat lots now we won't starve to death", because that was an actual problem for the vast majority of human history. There's no "secret additive" besides some good old salt and pepper.
Well it is a free market, so I suppose they are allowed. But morally it's a bit on unsteady grounds.
IMO a corporation shouldn't be allowed to skew facts like this for its own profits, especially at the expense of people's health.
The fact that they're trying to change people's views on something that affects their life so broadly just to peddle their product is absolutely disgusting.
Stupid title. Soda doesn't contribute to type 2 diabetes more than any other calorie equivalent staple of your diet. Sugar != diabetes.
Sugar is the #1 contributor to obesity, and obesity severely increases your risk of type 2 diabetes.
Hey man, atleast they're telling you to work out instead of wanting you to sit all day honking down Coke. This could honestly be a lot worse.
with a 68.8% US obesity rate, it clearly is fucking working.
Obesity rate != overweight rate. :tried:
Obesity rate != overweight rate. :tried:
:goodjob: Would you like to actually argue my point instead of posting semantics for zings you can't even get in this subforum?
You can't outrun a bad diet.
I eat way too much for my body type, but I workout so it evens out. I have a six pack and pecs even though I eat like five pounds of unhealthy food every day. The excersise is the only reason why I'm keeping my body. I get that some people don't have the time to workout everyday, but people like that are the ones that should excersise their minds the most. If you don't have the mental strength to hold yourself back when you don't have the time to workout, don't complain about the body you have.
Well it is a free market, so I suppose they are allowed. But morally it's a bit on unsteady grounds.
Maybe it shouldn't be as free then
Seriously it's not that hard to lift weights three times a week, positive improvement in the physique quickly starts to become apparent and it's a big confidence boost. Couple that with some aerobic exercise and you're golden! It's a matter of taking the first step which can be hard, but when you do it feels great and before you know it working out has become a habit, a great habit that leads to a long healthy life. You gotta work for that body man! Just stay away from crossfit for the love of god
But diet is the most important part. Even if you don't exercise but eat right it will have great effect.
someone who exercises but is overweight is healthier than someone who is healthy weight but doesn't exercise
someone who exercises but is overweight is healthier than someone who is healthy weight but doesn't exercise
But someone whos a healthy weight and exercises is healthier then someone who is overweight and exercises so I don't get your point
someone who exercises but is overweight is healthier than someone who is healthy weight but doesn't exercise
If both of them have shit diet it really doesn't make much of a difference.
Not everyone has free and easy access to a gym, and not everyone can find the time and/or energy to do so.
Then do bodyweight exercises. And not just a couple of half-assed pushups before bed, I mean just a simple, 1-hour routine three times a week. You don't need a single piece of equipment, except if you don't own a wall. Exercise is extremely important, and I've known many people with families and 9-5 office jobs that are able to fit just one hour to something that can change your life so positively.
Not everyone has free and easy access to a gym, and not everyone can find the time and/or energy to do so.
Those are bullshit excuses because there are very busy people who will absolutely make time in the day for some exercise, it's literally just 45 min to an hour out of one's day and you don't even need a gym. Not enough energy? Unless one is already getting a decent amount of exercise from their job then all it takes is getting up off of one' ass and fucking doing it. I mean if people don't want to work out because it's a decision they've made then it's all good, but it's so irritating to hear people say they don't work out because of silly excuses that don't even stop you from doing anything, the only obstacle is themselves. Your body is with you every moment of your life, no time my ass. Excuses are complete bullshit
Morally wrong? That's an understatement. They're trying to push their agenda on people who don't know any better just to peddle their product. This is like saying "you don't really need to care for your teeth" to sell candy. The message they're pushing is harmful, it's telling people that it's okay to do things that are bad for their bodies. Maybe companies could get away with that shit back when we thought smoking tobacco had health benefits, but not today. This is bullshit.
That is not how I conceived the message. I read it more like "you really need to be paying more attention exercising/brushing and less attention to your diet" Diet, which may or should not even be the problem. We all live in well-faring, 1st world nations after all.
