I guess it would be frustrating for those who are subscribing to this particular series to see something they don't want to care for. Though the solution there is simple- just cut your subscription and/or don't buy the issues.
You may be playing it down a little, fans can be very attached, I mean how would the Game of Thrones fanbase feel if the entire series ended in the most ridiculous, illogical and asinine way imaginable? Replace Game of Thrones with some hobby you hold dear, and you'll probably be able to understand the rage behind this, or at least accept that it's reasonable for them to be angry. I mean, if you are devoted enough to get angry about an ending, then you're probably a devoted enough fan to find it difficult to abandon everything about the series thereafter, i.e. you wish the changed it/it never happened.
Because main characters dying is a new thing. I'm glad Cruma added in Game of Thrones, because it's likely to happen. And it's not likely the end of Peter Parker.
Sounds kind of like a plot point of Heroes. When Nathan dies, the badguy with all the powers has absorbed his memories. So a telepathic guy forces him to forget everything else except those memories, then change his form to actually become Nathan. Then he's 'Nathan' for a season before slowly realising that something is wrong and he has all the powers of the supposedly dead badguy.
Anyway, that seems like a large overreaction.
for you people that dont understand what happened,
[sp]Doctor Octopus is dying from several different diseases, so Peter Parker sacrifices his life and switches bodies with him, so instead Peter Parker dies. Although, some of Peters personality is given to Doctor Octopus, giving him the motivation to become the new spider-man.[/sp]
Quite a good way to end the series imo.
No.
[sp]Doc Ock fucked off into petes body, and had petes mind put into his body, there was no heroic sacrifice involved, it was just ock being a cunt.[/sp]
I'm all for mixin' up comics and even killing Parker - hell, I'm okay with Doc Oc. being Spider-Man. But it's strange to me the only normal Peter Parker is found in Avenging Spider-Man now.
You can't just put him into some B-Series. Get rid of him completely or not at all!
I don't even like Spider Man and I find this ending to be incredibly stupid. It's not even an ending at all, just continuing from a different characters view basically.
They fucked up Spider-man a million times, I guess this was just the final "fuck you".

no one like octavius and it's going to stay in everyone's heads forever
"whoa it's so meta"
yeah except we LITERALLY KNOW that OTTO is a fucking ASSHOLE
j jonah had no reason to assume shit which was his whole character
dickhead

I, for one, hope they're going to out his secret at some point, and its going to be an awesome Octo-Spider-Man of some sort.
Way to go Marvel, just when I thought One More Day was the worst thing to happen to this character, you mess it up even more.
I can understand people getting mad at this since I seriously cannot believe they actually approved an ending as bullshit as this but death threats? Do you really not have anything better to do with your life?
I like the idea behind swapping the role of the reader, although the problem is that if the reader seriously dislikes the main character of the comic they'd probably just not read it anymore.
Is this ending better than Mass Effect 3 ending?
2012: The year of terrible endings.

They honestly don't. I was gonna say "it's just a cartoon character get over it" but reading comic books is life's main content for some. It's more than a little bit sad.

This NEEDS to happen.
I swear, this image gets posted in every Spiderman thread. Not that I'm complaining. I love that game. (Just played it yesterday, actually!)
Okay, so I agree with Slott's explanation that Spidey and Ock aren't very different after all. I also really like how he inverted the relationship from "authorities hate Spidey, fans love Spidey" to "authorities love Spidey, fans hate Spidey." I think that's brilliant.
But...gosh, couldn't you have done all that in some other, better way?
that ending sounds atrocious but those fans need to chill the fuck out
People who overreact need to die by most painful death ever

that sounds like quite the overreaction. are you ready to die?
that sounds like quite the overreaction. are you ready to die?
Everyone is going to die.
At least Ultimate Peter Parker went out in a more acceptable way. His replacement was even likeable, and arguably the best Spider-Man out right now next to Scarlet Spider.
So do we get Spideroctoman villain?
Overreacting 101.
To be fair, that's a fucking stupid ending.
So do we get Spideroctoman villain?
Nope. [sp]Peter uses the octobot that originally switched the two and made Ock relive Peter's old memories with Ock's face on Peter's body (such as when Uncle Ben died). After making him relive those memories, Peter makes Ock promise that he'll take care of everyone. Ock agrees and Peter later dies. Then, Doc Ock vows to be a better Spider-Man than Peter ever was.[/sp]
Did no one else see where in the article it says that the permanent death of Peter Parker is unlikely?

Comic book deaths are rarely permanent anyway.
I am sorry, but I find the word meta being overused amongst writers / philosophy majors really annoying. I didn't know they had trending words in the supposed intellectual world, but what do I know.
Yolo
why
it's a word for something that didn't previously have a word
