I have an IQ of 126 and I smoked weed for three years everyday before I turned 18. IQ literally means nothing.
I'm not saying that because I have an IQ of 126 this whole study is bullshit, I'm saying if I can have an IQ of 126 then IQ is bullshit.
Never mind George Bush has an IQ of 125 that's entirely possible.
damn it i owe somebody money
I ain't tryna brag or nothin
SMOKE WEED ITS GOOD

you could have had a higher IQ had you not smoked
besides, anecdotes, etc
and yes, IQ correlates with many, many things
It could even be that the kind of people who smoke marijuana in the first place just aren't very good at IQ tests. Doesn't mean that they're not intelligent since I've seen evidence to suggest IQ tests are bullshit. Stephen Hawking and Einstein have the same IQ as Quentin Tarantino (a high school dropout (IQ of 160.)) Shakira and Hillary Clinton have IQs of 140.
160? try an iq of 420 word up
It could even be that the kind of people who smoke marijuana in the first place just aren't very good at IQ tests. I am not sure what being a dropout has to do with IQ. You could be the smartest man in the world but if you were lazy you'd fail anyway.

lol calling tarantino lazy
eh, you win some you lose some
You win euphoria and all the things that come, you lose by having your organs shut down?
lol calling tarantino lazy
Was Tarantino eager to study math and physics at school? Probably not, hence why he became a director and not a scientist.
Was Tarantino eager to study math and physics at school? Probably not, hence why he became a director and not a scientist.
IQ isn't just about math and physics
Was Tarantino eager to study math and physics at school? Probably not, hence why he became a director and not a scientist.
that doesn't make him lazy. it means he didn't want to study math and physics.
that doesn't make him lazy. it means he didn't want to study math and physics.
Exactly. Hence why he dropped out. Your performance at school and dropping out has nothing to do with IQ.
What a small study taken between two people that already have cancer.
Also I hate studies like this, you can lost IQ points just by watching tv too much, or eating to much fatty foods.
Exactly. Hence why he dropped out. Your performance at school and dropping out has nothing to do with IQ.
IQ doesn't really measure your entire intelligence as such; merely a facet of it. you could have an incredibly high IQ and not know what colour the sky is for example. not to say that it isn't entirely credible, it's relevant to this study, but having a high IQ doesn't mean you're a physicist.
The article doesn't even elaborate on how the pot was taken. Was it hashish with tobacco, ingested with food, regular joints, pure clean, whatever?
Why are people even caring about IQ? It means nothing, it shows how good you are at solving the IQ test, not how intelligent you are.
That said, it isn't the first study showing pot is bad for you (yeah so are alcohol and cigarettes, but that's like saying Hitler wasn't bad because Stalin was just as bad).
I have an IQ of 45 and I've never smoked pot so this study is invalidated.
420 blaze it.
Dogs are estimated to have ca. 40 IQ

IQ is your ability to learn and use what you learned. Ability to process and use information. You don't need to know a lot to have high IQ, it simply means you have the potential to learn a lot and later use what you learned for something.
Why are people even caring about IQ? It means nothing, it shows how good you are at solving the IQ test, not how intelligent you are.
It's a terrible and relative system, but if test group A does a test better than test group B then you can assume something's different.

that's what i meant really, it's more of a measure of logic process than anything.
that's what i meant really, it's more of a measure of logic process than anything.
And that's why IQ and dropping out of school have nothing in common.
And that's why IQ and dropping out of school have nothing in common.
yes. but my only argument was that tarantino is not lazy
Despite godwin this is pretty true
yes. but my only argument was that tarantino is not lazy
Okay swap lazy for not interested, happy now?

Actually, IQ correlates with school success, but that doesn't mean that every single person with a high IQ will do well in school and vice-versa. It just means that if you know someone has a high IQ, you can increase your confidence that they did/do well in school.

Smoking HOW. You can 'smoke' by vaping it, you can smoke it pure, you can smoke it with tobacco and other shit as well

Also I remember reading that for work, the highest degree of success is near the middle (125 to 140 IQ), while on either sides the average income decreases sharply.
because "National Institute on Drug Abuse"
Hardly an interest group that would be looking for a vested result.
You do realize that just because they document drug abuse doesn't mean they are anti-drug use.
They collect figures for alcohol abuse - a legal drug - I suppose you are going to suggest any studies they are involved in on the negative effects of alcohol we should be skeptical of too?
Anything in excess is bad for you.
