Ferrell, Neeson to voice 'Lego': Offerman, Brie also added to cast
Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie have joined the voice cast of Warner Bros.' "Lego." Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett and Morgan Freeman have been set previously for the 3D animated film, set for a Feb. 7, 2014, release. Ferrell will voice President Business, the adversary of the main character Emmet -- an ordinary, rules-following Lego minifigure (voiced by Pratt) who is mistakenly identified as the key to saving the world. Neeson stars as the voice of the president's powerful henchman, known as Bad Cop. Offerman will voice a craggy, swaggering pirate obsessed with revenge on President Business and Brie plays a member of Emmet's team with a powerful secret. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller ("21 Jump Street," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs") are directing from their original screenplay. Story is by Dan Hageman & Kevin Hageman and Lord & Miller. Village Roadshow is also producing. Producers are Dan Lin and Roy Lee. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

WHY?
At first I was like, "A live action LEGO film with Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman? Why?".
then i realized it was animated lol
Liam Neeson is the last person I would think of to voice in a film based on children's toys.
he was in Episode one that was a movie for kids.

Have you ever seen how far you can disassemble a lego-person? Shit's grusome.
This probably won't be the worst written thing Neeson's been in.

Plot: Liam Neeson trips onto a LEGO with his bare feet:
Here's a rating. Never mention any Star Wars prequels to me ever again.
Star Wars Episode 1,2,3 came out 1999/2002/2005
The whole Legos gimmick is really really dumb. Should've never expanded beyond the Lego City franchise. I mean, I played the Star Wars game with my a young sibling, and in that aspect it was fun. But it's not something I'd ever go and play on my own.

You must have the wrong toy
Legos do not exist

The lack of chemistry hurts

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for blocks like you. If you let me find you now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will build with you.
I can't be the only one that thinks all this Lego-based-on-things is really stupid right? All the Lego Whatever games and shit. They're all just blatant advertisments for Lego and the other thing. It's such a bizarre pair, to combine lego with something, and then make games and films of that. There's literally no reason other than marketing lego. This will just be 'BUY LEGO: THE MOVIE - LEGO LEGO LEGO'
Christ, they must have a shitload of money to throw around for something this dumb. I know that Lego is trying to sink its gnarled claws into everything right now, but god.

He already voices Aslan in Narnia, so this isn't really surprising.
neeson sure loves a pay cheque these days

freeman really surprises me though
I hope this is a blockbuster! :v:

I hope it's a cheap, independant movie trying to be clever satire. A man can dream, I suppose.
Neeson was in Ponyo.

Have you ever played Lego Racers?
Some of these games were fucking fun.
I cannot picture a decent Lego movie. Why not just make an animated film? Making the characters and sets look like Lego is just a big gimmick.
Fun Fact:
Liam Neeson is the voice of the Lone Wanderer's father in Fallout 3.
I like all the lego games and things that come out. It means that great toy is still around for kids today to have fun with.

Well at least this isn't battleship

that could be better than the recent call of duties (except Blops2 because that looks good)

The bionicle movies.
It won't be a true LEGO movie unless it has the orange transparent chainsaw.
Well, if it's got Liam Neeson I'd figure it would be some kind of dark take of living toys, where it turns out a there is a special team of lego dudes that are tasked with the job of pissing of Dads by putting lego where they might stand on it.
But then it's got Will Ferrel, so maybe one of the team is incredibly stupid and it's not such a dark movie after all.

I agree. I absolutely loved the Lego Racer games, especially the first one... and Lego Indiana Jones was tons of fun. I haven't tried many other lego games other than seeing my friend play Lego Loco, which if I remember right was also a pretty fun game.
