I like the new one. Simple, clean, effective. The old one looks like a 3 year old just discovered how to write letters with big crayons.
I liked the old logo. Shoulda kept it.
the old one was fun. new one is corporate and dull. but then again people are becoming corporate and dull so that's life. ;)
I'll miss the 90s look of their old logo.
I hate people who think making a logo is just as easy as copying the logo in paint.
this is a-ok in my opinion. although sing the e and b overlap, they should change it so all letters overlap a bit (though less than in the old logo), or they should have no letters overlap.
It also seems that a bunch of people are missing the subtle gradients inside the letters that have noticeable outlines.
Christ, everyone is going for the clean metropolis look.
It took an entire committee of artists to come up with the idea of straightening out the letters and changing the font. GROUNDBREAKING
It took an entire committee of artists to come up with the idea of straightening out the letters and changing the font. GROUNDBREAKING
im sure there was quite a few designs in the pool, but this got selected over them
That kerning, ugh.
The kerning together with the font is excellent.
I wish the Y was 1-2 pixels more to the right. It seems a lot more professional, less 90's. I like it. [editline]16th September 2012[/editline]
To each their own, I just don't like it when the letters are touching.
My point exactly, I don't like it either.
I always wondered why companies have been making their logos super simplistic in the recent years.
Hip to be square
There seems to be a trend to make all logos as simple as possible lately
Come to Web development thread.
I always wondered why companies have been making their logos super simplistic in the recent years.
I wouldn't know. But it looks like Pepsi started the "simplistic" logo craze back in 2008.
it's edgy these days to make everything lower case.
fixed it for you
I wouldn't know. But it looks like Pepsi started the "simplistic" logo craze back in 2008.
except pepsi kept the most essential thing about their logo and that was the ball with the red, white and blue. The symbol everyone recognizes ebay really had that everything clashing into each other and the font was, fat, and it looked cool, they need to do it with the new logo and keep the clashing [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] at least they still adopted the colours of the letters tho
To each their own, I just don't like it when the letters are touching.
It's only gay when letters are touching.
Not a fan of flat rainbow colors that the future seems to bring. All these "logos" look boring as shit. As soon as more people jump the ship it won't even be original or recognizable.
Hey guys I made a new logo for Facepunch tell me what you think It cost $342,000
I don't understand why people don't appreciate typography I know absolutely 0 of the theory behind it - all I can do is play it by eye until something looks right - and yet I love all these new logos recently. As one poster has already proven, it is not easy to recreate in paint. It's a lot more than some text if you know what to look for

Do we call Tolkien a shit author because we can recreate his works with Word?
