According to the Reddit live feed (which cited the DPD), one sniper is now in custody.
Im sorry, but people have a right to question if the guy holding a god damn rifle during an ACTIVE SHOOTING might be the shooter.
They have the right to, but it always leads to random, innocent people being subject to all kinds of harassment and just generally people thinking they're a mass shooter when they're not, and it can be severely damaging to someone's life. If I was the dude in the camo shirt I'd probably be very afraid for my life as a result of this, if he did go home that's good.
Is this the god damn time or the god damn place, friend?
I think it definitely is. Tensions are high and emotions are running and posts like that which step back and implore people to take the higher ground and not contribute to the cycle of hatred and violence is what we need more of.
According to the Reddit live feed (which cited the DPD), one sniper is now in custody.
Good, one(?) more jackass left
Good, one(?) more jackass left
One killed(???maybe not???), one in custody, possibly a third unaccounted for but they aren't sure.
Radio said requests for a spanish speaking female? Or did it get garbled
One killed, one in custody, possibly a third unaccounted for but they aren't sure.
Oh they killed one? How long ago did that happen
One killed, one in custody, possibly a third unaccounted for but they aren't sure.
One killed? I think I missed that.
Radio said requests for a spanish speaking female? Or did it get garbled
I heard the same
Some random car stopped on the highway, multiple police behind it. http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/dallas-county/breaking-shots-fired-and-officers-down-at-downtown-dallas-protest/266881573
That guy getting his face shown over every television is worse than when Reddit decided to "help" find the terrorist from the Boston Marathon bombings and pegged an innocent brown man as the bad guy simply because he was brown and had a backpack on in a few images.
One killed, one in custody, possibly a third unaccounted for but they aren't sure.
Source on KIA?
Is this the god damn time or the god damn place, friend?
Yes, it is? When people are spewing hate rhetoric against a few idiots and are trying to soil the efforts of grass root leaders to come to peaceful resolutions? Are we supposed to simply discuss one side of a very complex situation? I do not see this on other threads where the discussion very quickly spirals to how the fault must lay on a citizen that appeared to have been law abiding. I am simply saying misdirected hate because of the actions and words of a few isn't right. If that is something that isn't allowed to be said or heard here, then my statement about hypocrisy earlier resonates. None of this violence will ever come to an end like that.

ITS NOT THE TIME. THE GUY IS STILL OUT THERE.
That all being said though political discussions and arguments about the merits of BLM and movements like it would probably be best left until this has actually ended and we know about motive and who the suspects actually are. Just as good as it is to coerce people into taking the higher ground and looking at both sides of the issue rationally is to wait to judge this tragedy until we know more about why it happened.
Radio said requests for a spanish speaking female? Or did it get garbled
I recall one of the alleged shooters was earlier said to have been a female for what that is worth. However, given that the sniper was incorrectly identified, that might be bad info at this point as well.
Source on KIA?
One suspect was reported killed earlier in the thread, thought it was considered official, don't have the source
Is this the god damn time or the god damn place, friend?
Where were you for the first 18 pages? "Hopefully this is the downfall of BLM" was okay, or only when someone has a different view?
We don't even know what is happening, who, or why right now. Climb of your soap box consisting of corpses and wait for information before you politicize this for your own needs. It is 110% not the place.
Posts like these are why I never speak on sensitive matters like this on facepunch. You can go look through my post history, I never do. My posts are directly aimed at those who would incriminate everyone who is apart of peaceful protesting and a larger grass roots movement (BLM) that has no formal leadership and put the blame on them. People who are just posting screenshots from twitter as some sort of rhetoric to fuel anger and disdain towards it.
Rhetorical question. ITS NOT THE TIME. THE GUY IS STILL OUT THERE.
relax. this is an internet forum, not a police scanner or a news station

And he got his name cleared within a few hours, too.
