Very seldom, if ever, is there any justifiable reason for someone to kill a single cop, let alone 4 and attempt to kill another 7. This is a, to use a bit of a bad term here, very black-and-white situation since there's absolutely no possible justification. When a cop shoots someone, they could be justified in doing it in order to defend themselves or the public, and that's why people don't jump to conclusions in those cases about whether it's a murder or not. To be quite honest, I truly think you have to be either the most willully ignorant person in the world or deranged to not be able to see how the two scenarios are completely different. It's not really "food for thought," it's nonsense really.

People like to whitewash and romanticize the civil rights movement but it was the same way.

You could tell that that police officer was not prepared for that kind of firefight happening that fast... That was terrible...
