So the agenda pushing doesn't even wait until after the shootout. Good job media.
I need people to realize that kevlar and other similar bullet proof vests do NOT work like the movies.
Yes, most will stop a small arms and rifle round from penetrating your body, HOWEVER, that energy doesnt just dissipate into nothing. You are still being slammed with a massive amount of force, and people who are shot in BPVs tend to have ribs break and organs bruise. In other words, it knocks the snot bubbles out of you. You dont just get hit in the vest and shrug it off like no big deal.
There's a lot of steel alloys that respond well to case hardening that give you a metal plate strong enough to defeat rifle rounds, you can do this at home if you're willing to go through the effort. Alternatively AR500 plates are available, and with a good carrier you can easily shrug off a round from a cop's service pistol.
Personally I prefer composites but it's hard to impregnate ballistic fabric with resins by hand.
Its fucking with my head so bad.
I'm running through my head on how this could have been prevented, what intelligence agency missed what, if anything.
I keep thinking "Well if only they knew these phone calls were going on..." "What if we DID see emails about this..." and all this shit I would normally NEVER even think of suggesting. It's just a combination of me being tired and the situation itself knocking around in my head I'm sure, but just... Christ. We have so many things like that already. Did someone somewhere know about these guys?
This is going to do some fucked up stuff to America if we go ahead in the wrong direction.
Oh boy, as much as I hate to say it you were better off not thinking about all of this, because even if the notion of safety and security was an illusion it was at least there to let you sleep at night. I think that's the real reason why this is fucking with your head, it's that bubble of "safe" that just popped and you're trying to negotiate this new reality where bad, terrible things happen and there's nothing that can be done about it. Part of me envies you because I watched that same video and I didn't feel a thing, I'm pretty sure being desensitized to that probably isn't good at all.
As horrifying as this is, I can gain one positive thing out of this. This only makes me want to persue my law enforcement and counter-terroism career even harder. This kind of shit needs to be stopped ASAP, we're getting to the point to where now even trained people are committing mass shootings.
It is true that they are black. Yes, they are people- but their race is black.
it's intentional profiling and sensationalist especially right now. they have nothing to do with the incident at hand. they're just members of the public caught up in it. their race has nothing to do with their actions, and they don't need to be identified as they're waiting for a bus. their race has nothing to do with it and it's not relevant. they're just a group of people. god damn.

I wonder if theres an uptick in unreported/unsolved crimes on the outskirts of the ground zero in situations like this. I feel like having most of the cities police in one area occupied with chaos of an active shooter, would make for the perfect climate for some petty theft or some B&E. You can pretty much guarantee no officer will make it out to you for quite some time.
jesus christ
they're people. they're human beings. not blacks, not a 'group of black people'. this is the issue.
I know that they're people, and human beings by extension.

How would you even measure that though?
Livestream of the garage where the hopefully last shooter is held up in: https://www.periscope.tv/w/1ZkJzvbbqAqJv
EDIT: Stream is down

I dunno.
I've always read up on the modern-age counter terror units and operations we have. FBI HRT, different SWAT teams, CIA ops, things like that. It's interesting. And I guess we do an alright job preventing it. It's so gut-wrenching because it doesn't happen often, I guess. After reading about them and the shit they do pull off, you see that they're really god damned good at their jobs. You know these people are equipped and trained to get shit done.
But, people are always gonna slip through the cracks like this.
Funnily enough, makes you want to join up to stop this stuff. Probably going to need all the help they can get, you'd imagine. It's only gonna get worse. Definitely makes me consider a career in law enforcement and counter-terror intelligence even harder.

I'd say they'd have reserve cops for this sort of thing, but I don't know.
We had a house fire a few years ago that no fire fighters would respond to because all (two, lol, it was like 11PM) were at a small then-unoccupied industrial building that was on fire. But one did eventually come so still itd make sense to have people on reserve, but given federal agents were involved I somehow doubt that anyone would want to risk it.
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
at least wait till its over before we make a political point using peoples deaths
we dont even know who did it yet
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
What could possibly go wrong?
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
The hell does this shooting have to do with BLM?
Fourth officer just died. (fox stream)
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
Some people comitted a terrorist attack - We should forcefully shut down a political movement that might not even be related
Boy, that's certainly a solid and absolutely 100% harmless idea. Governments supressing political groups has never gone bad before.
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
This isn't BLM, I'm sure. All evidence is that the shots came from outside the parade, after the event ended. The shooters also aren't your average Joe with a gun, so unless BLM hired trained hitmen, this isn't BLM.
BLM needs to be dissolved and recreated, but the government doesn't need to intervene in that process.
fucking cnn is playing ads during this shooting
jesus christ
Wish people would stop saying "must be a vet, must have military training" when the majority of people making this claim most likely got their "knowledge" from watching war movies.

Actually the "bad guys" aren't often bad or "rotten" but are just fighting their own personal war and feel justified in what they do. Some agree (as we can see from retards on twitter) and it just makes things complicated, no matter what nobody actually does things they think are awful.
You can't really fight that, but I do personally understand the need to get involved and try and fight it.
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
I don't even know what this means.

they most certainly used the blm protest as a place to target cops

Kudos to that family who moved after the cops told them to do so. Was that guy laying on the ground, shot, trying to get a pic or just reducing silhouette?
Point apart: Man, poor cops. I mean, I expect they were briefed before the protest to be on alert just in case and then this shit happens. Bonus points: You are first responder and have absolutely no fucking clue what's going on. Talk about courage.
EDIT: Did I hear a long scream at the beginning?
BLM needs to be shut down, by force if need be.
No, let's please not shit on free speech because possibly unrelated people shot officers.
We have no idea who did this or why, at the very least wait on the agenda pushing until you have any valuable information at all.
This isn't BLM, I'm sure. All evidence is that the shots came from outside the parade, after the event ended. The shooters also aren't your average Joe with a gun, so unless BLM hired trained hitmen, this isn't BLM.
All organizations such as BLM have radical members; you can't really say BLM doesn't have shooters but you can't also really say that said shooters were BLM; syllogisims and whatnot
This isn't BLM, I'm sure. All evidence is that the shots came from outside the parade, after the event ended. The shooters also aren't your average Joe with a gun, so unless BLM hired trained hitmen, this isn't BLM.
We don't know it is BLM, but we don't know for certain it isn't either. It's almost definitely not BLM given how much experience the gunmen/snipers have (using military tactics/etc), but even so, it's too early to draw a concrete conclusion either way in my opinion.
fucking cnn is playing ads during this shooting
jesus christ
I've swapped to the Fox stream.
Much more sensible discussion, and they're not just playing cops dying on repeat.
