The men who perpetrated the disgusting and cowardly attack in Dallas last night are terrorists, and do not deserve any praise, any recognition, or any absolution. They were extremists. They had perverted ideologies, and committed monstrous acts in the name of them. I have no qualifying statement for this.
I will go on to say that there is NOTHING WRONG with being critical of inappropriate police use of force. There is NOTHING WRONG with seeing something like the Philando Castile shooting, the Alton Sterling Shooting, and saying, “FUCK NO! That should never have happened. That is NOT okay!”
Holding law enforcement to standards of professionalism and responsibility, and criticizing the situations in which police fail to meet those standards, DOES NOT MAKE YOU A “COP HATER.” I think that many of the events precipitating this attack are horrifying. Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice, Eric Garner, and so on and so on and so on. The list of people killed by police under highly inappropriate circumstances is a long one. That kind of brutality is inexcusable. So is the bullshit that went down in Dallas last night.
You can be critical of inappropriate police action, while still supporting police, and while still finding murder and violence under any ideological banner detestable.
weren't you banned for calling me fucked up
lol
Yes because you thought the murder of Alton Sterling was justified AND they should have shot him more.
And you wanna bring it up in this thread again to start something? You've got that sneaky sarcastic spiteful attitude man.

I wonder if this will lead to a huge race war

are you one of the shooters

what do you mean with perverted ideologies? do you mean corrupted ideologies? my English isn’t perfect all i get is people sniffing underwear when i Google the phrase.
Also i do not believe you can support the police force without being critical for the police force... the ideals of a police force need to be upheld by police AND policed... if not then they are just going to regress into an armed militia opressing people.

i said that lethal force was justified under the assumption that what the officers at the scene said was true
and I said that firing multiple bullets was entirely justified assuming lethal force was justified
you're saying that sniping innocent fucking people who've done literally nothing to anyone is justified because you think the actions of police in completely different fucking cities were bad
and yet I'M the fucked up one here :v
what do you mean with perverted ideologies? do you mean corrupted ideologies? my English isn’t perfect all i get is people sniffing underwear when i Google the phrase.
essentially a similar thing, yes
Ignore the gimmick.

Yes, in this context "perverted" essentially means the same thing as "twisted" or "corrupted."
essentially a similar thing, yes
To the underwear? or the corruption?

k, i get it
Usually its not that those groups don’t denounce people like that, its that they dont denounce people who share the vocabulary (in this case 'kill cops' etc) but do nothing about it, or in the case of feminism ive personally seen them promote demolishing men, and rile up women at meetings... i dont have much experience with the activists movement besides feminism, and only because i have a mother very active in the movement that drags me along occasionally. But this has given me clear insight i believe in how these movements flirt with extremism and stay out of reach as in 'not a true feminist' or 'we think thats bad' when something fucked up like the things they are litterally adviocating for in 'member rallies' happens.
I've seen plenty of people advocating for true activism that isn't tied to acts of violence while simultaneously denouncing said acts of violence. On Tumblr, on Twitter, on Facebook. Literally any movement that has radicals has just as many people crying to keep violence from being perpetuated as the movement's flagship.
But aside from making statements on social media, internet activism can only do so much about violent individuals. People aren't going to go searching for these radical people in hopes to "stop them" when the majority of the movement are regular citizens. There's nothing to be done without putting themselves in danger.
The denouncement of violence exists in many forms and in literally every movment, but it's times like this when the violence seems so real and prevalent that it doesn't seem like there is any counter for it.

Im talking about a feminist conference where a speaking panel reads passages from a book written by Julie Bindel stating something like (paraphrasing out of memory) 'it would be better to put men in concentration camps, and ONLY keep the hot ones around, and only for procreation' (whatever that middle part means, i guess some kind of final solution?)
while the room cheers, applauds and laughs and some men can be seen looking around slightly uncomfortable, and admittedly although one of the more extreme cases ive seen, it is not an isolated event...
This was a room of about 2000 women for the national farmers wives union womens day. (a feminist movement no longer restricted to farmers wives or national borders in Belgium, but they kept the name)
This was not tumblr, this was not online, this was a meeting of middle age women and a 'renowned feminist' speaker quoting a famous feminist wirters book... and being cheered for it. Nobody called her or the rest of her panel out for it... it was 'just a laugh' even though it was dead serious...
I know its off topic, but THAT is what breeds those people going out shooting people up with guns... or in this case when they get to power of some sorts discriminate against men...
And its everywhere... in the environmental movements... civil rights movements... womens movements... heck mens movements... all of it... its all tainted with this crap in my opinion... but its only visible to the members that are trusted with it. i see the same signs when i read a BLM 'extremist' protester talk and not even understand why people take what he said into question... im like 'hes probably just saying exactly what some high standing member said and got cheered for'
Not surprised. BLM's backwards logic was bound to create violence beyond anything possibly imaginable.

I was inside the conference, dragged in by my mom who is of certain status in the movement and therefore expected to bring her 'children of intrest' along. I don’t have it recorded or anything, just in my memory.
It happened about 3 years ago, it was one of the last times i went.
i bet somewhere someone has it recorded though...
Except videogames aren't a political ideology.
Your argument is like saying "cheeseburgers are great" is hypocritical because you would react differently if you replaced the word "cheeseburgers" with "murder".
But videogames become politically loaded when you state violent video games are the cause of violence

Alright so two things.
1. BlackLivesMatter has no leaders. It's a hashtag movement.
2. The Website itself is unofficial.
It would be the equivelent of me creating www.FacepunchLivesMatter.com and then putting up my agenda, claiming that it represents the views of people who stand up for discrimination against gas-mask, dragon dildo, and anime use.
Are you saying he threw a dart on a calendar and JUST so happen to have it land on the exact day and hour that BLM is having a protest?
I don't see the logic in whatever it is you're saying
Those things certainly aren't isolated events. Neither are gatherings where people advocate for violence under the banner of some sort of movement here or there.
But they're not representative of the whole movement. Especially not movements like these which have such a large, expansive message that encapsulates so many people and so many issues.
You're gonna run into disgusting people who want to hurt other people. But you're also gonna run into something who truly have a good platform and carry it out the way it should be carried out.

If everyone laughs and cheers when vile things like that are said, quoting a well respected and politically active feminist i dont feel you have the luxury to say that... especially since those tumblrites need to get their ideologies from somewhere. and i believe that to be famous feminist writers like this person.
Disgusting people run that place, and i have no doubt there are other feminist movements like that, since the writer in question is British, and has helped write legislation on women battering centres and so forth (just read that on wikipedia, not amused)
Most people at the national socialist gatherings early on did not fully agree with hitler, but they were still there... laying down the foundations of a movement for 'the rights of the little man, the commoner' and we all know where that went... Hitler however would not have had the political leeway back then to advocate for concentration camps and to me it appears some extreme feminists do...

can you provide a neutral source?
netural source isn't a website dedicated to men's rights, and the use of the word "feminazi" and articles suggesting that more women shouldn't be in parliament because of shit Liberal Democrats do.
netural source isn't a youtube page with titles such as
"Pope Francis: Shut the fuck up"
"Stupid butthead millennials"
"Crazy Violent Left Wing Extremists"
"Fuck the Vote Remain Campaign"
"Dear gays: The left has betrayed you"
"SJWs gone wild"

I'm not entirely sure that terror was the motive here. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I just woke up and haven't heard any news since the fifth officer died, but it seems to me like this was more likely just an attack intending to kill police officers. Obviously a terrible motive, but I doubt they specifically wanted to spread fear and panic.
Again, I haven't heard anything since last night, so I don't know if any of the suspects made statements.
But videogames become politically loaded when you state violent video games are the cause of violence
So could a cheese burger.
I mean this is just an absurd argument.
There is no inherent political ideology to video games. There is a political ideology to BLM.
Because one's a political group and the other is a form of media.
Your comparison is still bunk.

"Tumblrites" are not a collective which can be adequately assessed and determined to be 100% man-hating radicals. Nor have I ever seen anyone promoting the work of Julie Bindel in the last 5-6 years I've been on Tumblr with the surge of activism. There likely are people on there who believe the words she says but you cannot, in all good conscience, say that there are a majority who do.
"Tumblrites" are also mostly younger women who are isolated in their world and take information from friends and people they follow, rather than being able to utilize news sources adequately and accurately. Which, for being young, is to be expected since there are plenty of teenagers who have no interest in world news, but instead, rely on the word of mouth from their communities to inform them instead. With that, misinformation spreads.
I will never believe that a movement like feminism or BLM which has so many avenues and issues being addressed all at once tote violence as an educated majority opinion.
You hear about the violent ones because the violent ones get covered by news or get the most attention.
