I don't give a shit about what you criticize, the group does what the group does and I'm going to judge them on that.
I think with any structureless group collective appraisals aren't very useful. It's better to break them down into subgroups of closely related individuals, like BLM Toronto, BLM Austin, etc. . .
If you just tackle it all as the monolithic "BLM" you end up with a group that contains both pure pacifists who want to end violence and racial supremacists who want to eliminate white people, which doesn't seem useful to me
It'd be like judging "the right" as one entity. You end up grouping socially liberal economic conservatives with white nationalists. You end up with an average that doesn't actually represent anyone because it was calculated based off of groups of people that have almost zero relation to each other.

I kinda feel bad for the guy now, I don't care how many people he killed but noone needs to die like that
This was reality, not the movies. You shouldn't base your understanding of weapons, explosives and police handling of things on Hollywood.
Nice making assumptions. Where did I say that I assume everything in Hollywood movies is how it is in real life?

Your skepticism is a pretty big sign.

He died instantly which is honestly far more than he deserved.

I don't think anyone deserves a slow, painful death.
I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but I don't really believe in cruel & unusual punishments (specifically outlawed in the Constitution)
Could've been worse. Usually in standoffs with the Police the go to solution is to torch the building.

is it tho????

no I'm saying I think he should have gone to prison
[editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
what did you think I was saying, that we should rip up his fingernails and salt the beds or something? You commit crimes, you go to jail. You commit heinous crimes, you go to jail for a very, very long time.
is it tho????
It's kind of a joke. A lot of stand offs end with the building catching fire. Like Dorner for example.

"Retribution is fun"
Wishing death and suffering on someone so nonchalantly, you're basically crawling on the edge of a straight razor. Lack of empathy doesn't suddenly make you cool and I hope you actually grow up sometime this century.

Imagine thinking that killing people is fun. Maybe you two would've had fun together.

I can't stand this mentality
You're saying "It's so bad those people died, they didn't deserve it", but at the same time saying "This fucker deserved to die"
No matter what someone does, they don't deserve death. At least in my opinion.

it looks like any other combat death where explosives are involved

I'm a lot more grey in opinion, but to say the least there are fates worse than death. You could always use them instead.

I always tend to make a mental note of people who say stuff like this, even without the 'Retribution is fun' part, if id see you with a gun i would walk away without turning my back...
How did his gun survive then?
weapons are supposed to be rugged, human bodies are not. a sudden sharp impact can cause spectacular damage to organs and tissues, let alone a massive force such as an explosion.
Literally that's what an EOD disposal suit is for, to absorb the force from an explosion, and even then people are left with broken bones and tissue/organ damage while the suit is perfectly fine.
What he doesnt tell you: Dallas is the Detroit of the south
What he doesnt tell you: Dallas is the Detroit of the south
Seriously?
What a load of bullshit. You have huge companies investing in Dallas and setting up new headquarters here (Southwest, Microsoft, Toyota, Samsung, etc), a growing real estate market, and nowhere near the same crime rates in most areas.
Is it because they both start with a D you say that?
What he doesnt tell you: Dallas is the Detroit of the south
I'm sorry, do you even live in Dallas?
I'm sorry, do you even live in Dallas?
No, but I have many friends who live and work in the greater Dallas area. Theres a reason why they're struggling for applicants and had to cancel their last academy class.
So yea, Dallas PD is the Detroit PD of the south. Underpaid, under appreciated.
I thought you were talking about Dallas itself not its Police Department.
DPD is a department with a lot of internal problems at the moment. All this happened at a bad time.

I should have specified further
I should have specified further
Huge understatement.
I hope Detroit doesn't turn into the Dallas of the north, I'm an EMT here and I'm not trying to go to any scenes like the one in Dallas the other day
What he doesnt tell you: Dallas is the Detroit of the south
That's a funny way to spell new Orleans.
Hell Houston is far more fucked than Dallas ever thought about being, in both general and in hires.
