I wonder why it took so long for people to remember the great dictator
that was a fantastic film that poked the ever lasting shit out of Hitler with a terrific speech at the end to sum it all up
Hell not even that, are we forgetting the countless Warner Brothers short cartoon films that shat on the Third Reich?
It's really easy to commit a terror attack any time you like really, all you need is the desire to go buck wild.
Although whatever happened to America standing up for it's freedoms instead of quaking in its boots like a bitch?
Sony is not America, Sony is not even a country. Think about this: If Sony knew there was an attack aimed at the theaters showing this movie, and they released the movie anyways, AND someone was killed at a showing of the movie, do you suppose the reaction would be "America, fuck yeah!" or "Goddamnit, Sony got some innocent person killed, sue them!"?
I have the feeling GRRM doesn't like those that rule over the north.
Who the fuck cares what the North Koreans think? Come and shoot at us motherfuckers, it'll give us a reason to steamroll over your pathetic regime.

It's not that, it's the theaters not releasing it due to terror threats. The only terror threats Sony Pictures cares about are the ones towards their employees, no company release a film that would make all of their employees SSNs and medical information public.
tbh I still think this is a publicity stunt
like there are a lot of whisperings saying this film isn't very good, and what would build hype better than this? then factor in stuff like surely someone would leak it, and also why would anyone genuinely fear a NK threat after all the threats that have been levied in the past - I mean we showed Team America did we not? - it just seems like them trying to generate some kind of hype.
Like now 99% of people who weren't going to see this will just for the novelty of it

really? im genuinely curious, did any rumours like that come out of the sony leaks? i was under the impression that all of those were just jokes (ie "good thing they pulled it it probably sucked lol" or "this is their worst film yet, lets just pull it and pretend it was hackers")

there's a fair few reviews out there and none of them are overwhelmingly positive, and quite a few say it's really poorly handled in terms of its satire and is kind of a lazy formulaic seth roganish film. I'm not saying they staged the hacks, I'm just saying they might have taken advantage of the opportunity
uhm Charlie Chaplin had to fund The Great Dictator himself because no one wanted trouble.................

Who cares none of that mattered in his point and you're pulling out random details that in no way make him wrong.
The Red Movie Premier?

You think a piss-ant country like North Korea poses a threat to anyone? Not even China will back them up if they do anything stupid. The country's merely a convenient buffer between them and SK, and China's always looking for more land.
