It seems like a schism in the movement but yeah, it was BLM.
That's the "fake" one. Marissa Johnson belongs to an organization called "Outside Agitators 206". She's basically just co-opting the momentum from BLM for her own bullshit.

So yeah, it was BLM, and until the main BLM page apologizes/condemns Marissa's actions, it is on them.

It's not like it matters. The fact of the matter is that a large vocal minority of BLM are harassing Sanders under the name.

I can't believe she's actually bragging about it. How delusional do you have to believe that this went well? J
Honestly I don't want to believe this was some conspiracy by Hilary to just get guaranteed into the White House because I would feel stupid for believing it, and even more stupid if it was confirmed :v:
Honestly being a woman alone and having the political standing she has is enough to give her a decent chance, and generally SJW's are pretty fucking stupid without being hired by politicians, so I'm just gonna say that this is just a bunch of idiots who are yelling simply because they have the power to yell.

They have their reasons, but the fact of the matter is that BLM's demands aren't as simple as they sound, and politicians are well aware of this. Nothing that a politician or a police officer can do to improve black communities will prevent the next nationwide outrage over racial conflicts from happening, nor the ones that follow it. Anything that actually makes things better is going to seem insignificant when pitted against that kind of provocative race-related news stories that get reported throughout the country every few months, so for a lot of people it's all that matters. And those people aren't going to get the change they want for a very long time.
bernie has literally been advocating for civil rights before these ladies were even born lmao

That's the reality of it, and I'm glad I'm not the only one to think it.
These folks want changes that won't come for a while. All I can say is at least be glad that African Americans can be big people these days.
Just look at Obama and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Obama is our first colored President, Tyson is black Carl Sagan.
It's not pre Civil Rights America these days, these people have plenty of opportunities, I just blame the fact that we're still in the middle of hard times brought on by the last decade. And we're all just gonna have to deal with it until things look better.
tbh i sometimes feel like black lives matter is just the republicans doing what the dems are doing with trump, ie covertly trying to sabotage and make a mockery of the other party :conspiratard:
From what I'm hearing, BLM has strong ties to Hilary Clinton, so some people are saying that this was orchestrated by her campaign.
Whether or not that's true, Sanders could not have handled it any better. He let them speak, and then addressed the crowd on a more personal platform.
Nah, I think it would still be extremely disrespectful. Even it it happened with Trump.
Though Trump is getting so much attention that he would probably be able to shut them down. Of course if he did, we'd start seeing headlines about how "Trump hates Black people."
Same would've probably happened to any other candidate if they didn't allow them to speak either. If they didn't allow BLM to be fucking assholes, then they'd just pull the race card on them.
That would likely happen because Trump lacks any known form of "tact".
"You people, you come in here, you make a big scene, and I-NO! No, do NOT interrupt me when I'm talking, I'M talking now, YOU'RE here to listen to ME, understand? See this is the problem with you people!"

I wish Bernie would do that. People feel he's weak for letting these morons pull this shit twice over now.
I wish Bernie would do that. People feel he's weak for letting these morons pull this shit twice over now.
He's known as the guy who understands the big issues faced by society today, and the core reason for BLM even existing IS an issue, and he feels the need to address this issue in a civil manner. If they want to be cunts about it, let them be cunts, but Sanders is above that sort of thing, and that's one of the facets of his personality that I've come to admire most.

I find it amusing that you're essentially running a game of No True Scotsman on BLM, when you were vocal to the point of obnoxious about things like Gamergate being objectively a misogynist hatecult over 'a few' bad agents in the swarm.
Regardless of what you consider a "real" BLM supporter to be, she is #BlackLivesMatter. This is what a big, decentralized social-media driven movement looks like. You don't get to divest your 'bad apples' and your 'co-opters' just because they make you look like raging jackasses, unless you want to set some real criteria for what "BLM" is.
Did she have her party card? Fill out her ID at the local BLM office? Those don't exist yet? Well shame, because then anybody can walk in and take up the banner, bad or good. Trying to sidestep that consequence is blatant hypocrisy, or at best back pedaling. It's also even harder to deny those participants when it seems to be a very common modus operandi of a lot of them.

That's why I was comparing it to Gamergate earlier. At least when Zoe/Anita were harassed, it was universally condemned by thousands upon thousands of gamergate supporters. When Occupy Wall Street went bad, people were condemning that too. That's why I think social media is largely representative over black lives matter.
That's the greatest hypocrisy over this entire thing. The same people who condemned GG for being an "organized female harassment campaign" based on less than a hundred anonymous tweets are now saying that their social justice movement isn't represented by those on Twitter and showing up at the rallies.
Another thing, people on the left opposing BLM radicalism were the same people saying that social justice warriors are only conservative right wing boogeymen. Now they know what it feels like to have their legitimate causes shit up by some assholes who want to feel special and progressive. Now they know what it's like to have it happen to someone/something they care about.
it's like watching a circular firing squad

That woman has such a punchable face.
I don't get how people actually believe it's a good idea to fight racism with racism.
This whole thing is idiotic. They're taking the one person who actually listens to them and instead of wanting to generate discussion, they go and yell him off the stage.

What? Do you have evidence of this?
It seems more reasonable to think that Trump is a jackass and that these protesters are idiots.

Except that there is a real possibility of this. Trump is a long time supporter and has donated to the Clinton foundation. He is personal friends with both bill and hilary, and bill supposedly called him the night he announced his candidacy.

I want someone to try and actually have an intelligent discussion with her and film it, because I can already see Chernobyl levels of radioactive stupid emanating from her.
This photo is so fucking sad. Here's this guy who has fought for this woman's rights before she was even a thought, and now she's screaming in his face.
If I were in his shoes I would just fucking quit, take the campaign money and retire to an island and live out the last bits of a wasted life trying to find enjoyment in fishing. I'm glad he isn't me and still has the courage to run.
So when are we ever going to address that the vocal minority is what's gonna sink Sanders? At this point the most destructive people to him and what he stands for are the people he is trying to help.
inconveniencing people is part of protesting
like do you think the white folks on the rosa parks bus were totally okay with her doing what she did? nah, it was an inconvenience, they likely thought the same shit, dumb person not just going to her seat, what a tool, kick her off the bus, etc.
again, FP has this weird idea that protests shouldn't inconvenience anyone. that's laughably wrong - that's 90% of what protests are. it brings attention to these issues.
They're protesting and annoying college students in America, arguably the most liberal leaning people in the country. Their tune would be better spent protesting where people don't already believe in the message.
Bernie just posted this on his website.

We must demilitarize our police forces so they don’t look and act like invading armies.
We must invest in community policing. Only when we get officers into the communities, working within neighborhoods before trouble arises, do we develop the relationships necessary to make our communities safer together. Among other things, that means increasing civilian oversight of police departments.
We need police forces that reflect the diversity of our communities.
At the federal level we need to establish a new model police training program that reorients the way we do law enforcement in this country. With input from a broad segment of the community including activists and leaders from organizations like Black Lives Matter we will reinvent how we police America.
We need to federally fund and require body cameras for law enforcement officers to make it easier to hold them accountable.
Our Justice Department must aggressively investigate and prosecute police officers who break the law and hold them accountable for their actions.
We need to require police departments and states to provide public reports on all police shootings and deaths that take place while in police custody.
We need new rules on the allowable use of force. Police officers need to be trained to de-escalate confrontations and to humanely interact with people who have mental illnesses.
States and localities that make progress in this area should get more federal justice grant money. Those that do not should get their funding slashed.
We need to make sure the federal resources are there to crack down on the illegal activities of hate groups.

My only problem with this, is this line. This perverse sort of incentivization is what lead to No Child Left Behind being a horrible specter that raped public schools.
ADDRESSING ECONOMIC VIOLENCE
We need to give our children, regardless of their race or their income, a fair shot at attending college. That’s why all public universities should be made tuition free.
[del]We must invest $5.5 billion in a federally-funded youth employment program to employ young people of color[/del] who face disproportionately high unemployment rates.
[del]Knowing that black women earn 64 cents on the dollar compared to white men, we must pass federal legislation to establish pay equity for women.[/del]
We must prevent employers from discriminating against applicants based on criminal history.
We need to ensure access to quality affordable childcare for working families.
Well shit. How can these radicals even protest him. What do they want?

The majority of GG just complains about SJWs and feminists. Go to the thread here, go to Kotatuinaction, go to 8chan. See how many pages you need to flip through before you find thoughtful discussion on videogame journalism ethics.
This, on the other hand, was two people harassing Sanders. A total of a dozen or so people acting like idiots under the banner of a hashtag anyone can use is extraordinarily good considering the track record of most internet-organized protests.
