Aaaaw yeah. Now I get to fidget excitedly for two years, hoping for screenshots and videos to sate my curiousity. :v:
Im a huge zelda fan but i dont believe this.
You know what they should do Recreate the entire first game in 3D.
You know what they should do Recreate the entire first game in 3D.
I still say Nintendo should remake those awful CDi games and rebuild them from the ground up to make them awesome. Completely erase the memory of those Philips abominations. :v:
Make that 2015, knowing their usual release cycle. I'm still looking forward to it though, I just hope they will shake up the usual Zelda formula a bit (like Majora's Mask did).

"Well princess zelda has been adventuring on her own once... but we don't like to talk about it."
not really the first 4 games were awesome n64 games were awesome gameboy color & advance games were ok phantom hourglass and spirit tracks are shit
Phantom Hourglass and Spirit tracks were hardly bad at all. They were just nowhere near as good as the rest of the series.
Would I want it? Yes, I like the idea of a Zelda game that I can play on my PC. But Zelda games have always been on Nintendo consoles, and have never used a keyboard and mouse control scheme. As an avid fan of the series, I can't imagine playing a Zelda game with a keyboard and mouse feeling natural or intuitive at all. I have a feeling if they tried it, it would turn out like RE4 on PC. And I never would wish that upon any game franchise.
I would like to see if they tried it, and to be fair, maybe the controls would be bad. But, still, an attempt is an attempt. Though, I think it'd be better if they had free to download Mario games for PC on their site and experimented a lot beforehand. I know there are N64 emulators and you can even buy an N64 style USB controller. So yeah.
That's all well and good, but where's Metroid
I don't buy it. I'm waiting for an official word for Nintendo before I get any of my hopes up.
As much as I'd like to be hyped for this, I just can't get excited over the Wii U. I wish Nintendo would make a platform without motion controls, it just seems kind of gimmicky to me. I'll still give this a try, though. I'm a big Zelda fan.
I played the WiiU at an event in Chicago a few months ago. It's actually a lot of fun. None of the games there, as far as I saw, even used the motion control. The game pad is a little unwieldy, but that might have been because you had to stand when you played at the displays. Frankly, I'm excited for the WiiU. There's a lot of potential with the hardware they have now. I've been really excited to see what they do with a Zelda title on it.
That's all well and good, but where's Metroid
If Other M is any indication of the direction the series is headed, then I don't even want to know.
I wonder how much longer Nintendo's console business model will last, there has been allot of pressure in the past few years for them to just go multiplatform already (I know I'd rather buy a Nintendo game from Steam on my already owned PC than pay $300 for a console and then buy a full price game. If you think about it a console is basically hardware DRM)
I don't like most nintendo games
C'moooooon, 4 Sword Adventure's style co-op. It would be so damn easy with the tablets. 4 Swords was seriously the most fun I've ever had in a Zelda game.
I liked the adventurous feel of WW, the atmosphere of MM, and the openness of TP. SS was fun, but extremely linear. And I never got to finish it because my Wii Motion Plus thing broke. ):
The last Zelda game, excluding remakes, was Twilight Princess, I didn't seem much with Skyward Sword. This seems to be really great though, I just hope the exploration is grand, now if only Nintendo do something similar for Metroid but not pull an Other M again.
Skyward Sword wasn't that fun for me. Maybe it's because I really hate the Wii Controller.
That's all well and good, but where's Metroid
My hopes for both Metroid and Starfox are exactly the same: retcon the previous game into the fucking stone age.
And give it make to Retro Studios. Everything they touch is gold.
Sounds cool.
Darn, I want a really dark Zelda like Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask. I just seem to enjoy them more. Also, the story of Twilight Princess was ace.
I still say Nintendo should remake those awful CDi games and rebuild them from the ground up to make them awesome. Completely erase the memory of those Philips abominations. :v:
"Oh boy, I can't wait to bomb some dodongos!"
I hope there's not an annoying assistant Navi? No, she's fine. That fucking fairy thing in Skyward Sword? Annoying as hell. "HEY THERES A PUZZLE IN THE NEXT ROOM, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY *answer to puzzle*"
Or at least, give the option to players to disable the assistant hints and only keep the story lines if the character is important to the story. Every 3d games (excluding Hourglass and Tracks) added something to the vanilla Ocarina of Time gameplay. Majora added a dark and emotional tones to the storyline, more side-quests and a sequel to OoT. Wind Waker brought a refreshing look and new mechanics (QTE). It brought more dynamic to fighting enemies. And especially the awakening fight in the castle. Massive mayhem which only appeared back in Skyward Sword. Twilight Princess brought the different enemy types and the skills. Enhanced what they added in WW. Skyward Sword brought a bit more life to all those orientations of attacks and fancy moves (slices and stabs had to be used correctly) plus a big part of the timeline. Unfortunately, both Twilight and Skyward weren't as big as WW or MM. They didn't suck... they lacked a bit of stuff. Or just variety overall. For my opinion, Nintendo was trying something new with Skyward and all these experiments cut down a lot of exploration, which ended up like Other M. I did enjoyed nonetheless but it lacked a lot of things. Majora and Wind Waker are the two which had tons of side-quests and additional stuff to do. Twillight didn't and Skyward cut too much. I only hope they could make a mix of Wind Waker bigness and exploration mixed with the amazing-ness that were the two 64 games and their atmospheres. If Zelda 2014 is what I just mentioned or just close enough to it, it will be amazing.
I'd love to see a Zelda game that's dark, but has the Wind Waker art style. I loved the Ghost ship, maybe they should do stuff more like that.
Psyched. Skyward sword was the best in series so I can't wait
