Kindergartener interrogated over cap gun, ultimately suspended for 10 days

I was suspended and not allowed to go to my graduation because I made the comment, "If I don't get an A I'm going to burn the school down," to a friend in the hall and a teacher heard it. Public schools suck, I'm glad I'm out.
Haha, reminds me about how in elementary school me and a couple friends used to light off caps under our desks with scissors. The teacher was practically deaf and never heard it or saw the puff of smoke coming up from our chairs.
That was a nostalgic memory. I can't believe I forgot that with my friends. Thanks buddy.
Lets throw logic and being a good person out the window and follow a ridiculous zero tolerance policy that suspends kids for having fun with toys. This can only end with good press!
another kid to give a free NRA membership to!
This is really stupid.

The American government and educational system are fucking insane, holy shit.
Thank God nobody was hurt.
No sorry suspension for a cap gun or a gun shaped pop-tart (or calling the police over a capgun) only happens in the US.

For now.
Well are you really that surprised? They can't take any chances considering all these shootings came from random people that showed no signs of acting in such a way, they are merely taking the precautions that could prevent tragedies, even if extreme. Though the pop tart thing was fucking stupid.
This incident is the second incident of anti-gun hysteria to erupt in a school setting in as many weeks. There have been many others over the course of this academic year as well.
A six-year-old boy was punished because he took a plastic Lego gun roughly the size of a quarter on a school bus headed to Old Mill Pond Elementary School in Palmer, Mass.
Are you fucking kidding me?
i think it has more to do with shitty soccer mom teachers.
My teachers didn't give a shit about much unless it was serious
Really?
A cap gun?
A cap gun cant do shit, what the hell.

Is it so hard to judge incidents individually instead of being lazy about it?
Congratulations to all the recent retards that have been overreacting to guns lately, basically, you're making the schoolshooters "win the terror game".
6 year old + Cap Gun = 10 day suspension
What part of the equation am I missing that would make sense out of this?
Anyone got a homeschooling brochure for me?
.......Like I said before, its gonna get to the point where a kid does jail time because a Teacher/Monitor/Etc hears him/her talking about Gum or Pies, but thanks to paranoia-enhanced hearing, they hear it as Gun or Knives.
In many schools it is the final choice of administrators as to how this is handled. As teachers our hands are tied because of parents and admins whom will turn on you in a second once a parent asks why little Timmy was allowed to bring a toy gun to school. When the fear and eau de entitlement of both parents and administration changes then stuff like this will stop. Mind you not all US schools are zero tolerance.
I'd love to have a talk with Obama on national TV, and tell him about all of these kind of cases, and then ask him how that makes him feel of the US. how would you guys fell in such a situation?
When I was in elementary school we were told to put cap guns back in our bags not getting suspended by some zero-tolerance law that makes some kid's life sad and boring.
Come on education system. What happened to you man.
I wonder how many kids actually felt threatened
Also did anyone else notice the source in the OP directly mentions they grilled the kid until he wet himself? Fuck public schools.

You ever seen the strips? Long paper rolls with red dots that, with enough force, will pop like the caps? One enterprising kid in my school found out how to set them off with his thumbnail. For months our school was freaking out about the caps and threatening kids with calls to the police while we not only get better at hiding them, we got better and more creative with setting them off.
It culminated with one kid stomping an entire box of the rolls. Blew the whole sole of his shoe off (he was fine). We stopped fucking around with them after that.
