I'm rather offended by the exhibition itself, but in no way offended by gay sex(In fact, I love it).
The idea of using corpses like this is actually revolting.
I could understand that someone wanted to show this with the male and female anatomy, but if you decide to do a gay couple you're just asking for it.
Love and emotion are common themes in artwork, he is presenting a physical display of those themes.
Sex is a natural thing.
i don't see the problem, they want to minimize violence in their country (though you could say banning violent games isn't the right way to do this) but sex is just a part of humanity, there is nothing wrong or immoral about it
Violence is a part of humanity too, they shold have two corpses haveing a punch up.
art my ass that's a shock image media tag it

if violence was an inexonerable necessary of humanity there would be no such thing as remorse
Ok I'm fine with gay people fucking but putting two male corpses on display fucking?
That's fucking gross god damn.

Erm. You said you were fine with straight sex poses, but your not okay with homosexual sex being on display?
I smell homophobia.
I've seen a documentary about this museum. I wish I could go. I saw pictures of the display.
[sp]The positions they were in was backwards cowgirl[/sp] :smug:
[sp]or I guess in this case, cowboy?[/sp]
I don't get what the big deal is. We're all going to be corpses one day, and most people have sex. Since the people gave consent for this sort of thing, where's the issue? If you want to protect your kids from this, just don't go to it.
On a side note - "anatomy fair"? It's an exhibition. "Anatomy fair" makes me picture skeletons riding on ferris wheels and helter skelters and eating candy floss.
In addition, I like how it's Fox News kicking up a fuss. Body Worlds has been advertised on the tube over here, with pictures of corpses.

Why? You're only asking for it from homophobes.
If straight corpse sex is ok in your book, why is gay corpse sex not?
(That's one sentence I never thought I'd have to type)
Just to be clear, yes they are real human bodies.
No, he doesn't just use any random corpse. These people donate their bodies knowing full well what they'll be used for after they die.
In fact, if you really want to you can sign up to have this done as well:

I've been to a few of these exhibits and in my opinion they are very facinating.
I've you've never been to one before I highly recommend it. They have them in both Europe and the North America:
http://www.bodyworlds.com/en/exhibitions/current_exhibitions.html
In addition to the artistic exhibits that have already been mentioned there are several more detailed and educational ones as well, which you don't see as much on websites because they're a tad more boring. They're still facinating however, getting seeing all the blood vessels in an arm in the exact position they would be if the rest of the flesh were to magically disappear is awesome.

You've got me.
I just need to wait for a thread on dolphin raping to come along and I'll finally have finished with that notepad file!

I just find the use of actual bodies a bit... over the edge.

Well, this makes it better for me, for science this is probably the best use of a body, at least for knowledge.
I still find it somewhat disgusting, but considering it's not exacly rotting corpses, I'm guess it's okay.
How does he make the bodies like that? It said something about something, but it didn't make much sense.
And how would he actually get a hardon on the dead body, and how would the dick look?
BodyWorlds was at the Minnesota Science Museum a few years ago, but I never got to see it. I was pretty disappointed. My friend did though, and he said it was really cool.
This guys stuff was also in, what was it, the newest James Bond movie?
Also, if you find this gross, you need to grow the fuck up. Do you get grossed out by looking at an anatomy book? Jesus.

Name something more human than having sex, go ahead, try.

sex is a totally natural thing
more natural than riding horses or playing poker, something which you don't seem to be offended by

You can't compare the two at all.

Because dead people with no skin and flayed organs having sex is completely normal, right?
Gawd, I'll bet somebody makes... *home videos* of that. I feel violated just thinking about it.
Because dead people with no skin and flayed organs having sex is completely normal, right?
In essence, yes.
Sex is as natural as it gets. Taken literally, dead bodies don't have sex, but it isn't meant to be taken that way.
It is showing the viewer what is going on during intercourse.
I can understand showing this one

but men? Really?
hot
Ghouls need love too ;-;
Ghouls need love too ;-;
NO
DON'T EVEN GO THERE
I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT GHOULS LIKE THAT
OH GOD MY HEAD
/caps
I find Von Hagens' work beautiful and insightful, for it to be banned for any reason would be extremely disappointing. Some places are so immature.

Which can be explained with models or writing or diagrams. You don't need to put two real corpses fucking on display, it's disgusting.
So for you, when they have sex is where you draw the line?
no, the whole exhibit is pretty gross. Just get rid of it all

Maybe, yknow... straight sex?

It'd be funny if the 2 bodies were super catholics that hated gays

Only science could take something as good as sex and make it boring...
