Twitter backlash against users who didn't know the Titanic was real

When I was 4, I picked up a book called "Shipwrecks" and it had a bunch of famous ones in it, including the titanic. How do people live for more than their earliest childhood and still not know that it was real?

Whilst at school, I always thought in a long-term stance.
There are morons?!

morons =/= ignorants
you can't fix the first, you can fix the other

I knew about this, I have never seen the movie. I haven't even completed high school, but I knew this in 3rd grade.
Of course people blame the entire generation, because we all know that prior generations was nothing but completely educated people.
On that note, I blame prior generations for not educating their children on something so simple.
You cannot educate someone that doesn't want/is incapable of being educated.
I was reading huge picture books on the Titanic by first grade, I have no hope for the generations under me.
When I have a kid I'll wait until it's 16 and pop the question "What was the Titanic?".
If the answers is "A movie" I'll disown him/her and try again with a new child.
The amount of idiocy is overwhelming.
I can't fucking contain it.
IT'S HAPPENING!
I knew about the Titanic before the movie. My only mistake was thinking the movie was a step-by-step recreation of the event (I was 7).

cherry picked scenario, reminds of those smug atheist rage comics where the religious person is conveniently overzealous and dumb and the atheist is calm, cool, and logical.
worrying about society=/=eugenics

How about this then?
How the fuck can you not know that? That's like not knowing that World War 2 was a real thing.
Twitter - "Didn't know Schindler's List was actually based on a real event...wow"
How about this then?

Well my main point of disliking that particular XKCD was because I feel it's suggesting to just let society become problematic since you'll only make it worse if you interfere.
It's our broken and dated education system that causes this, along with mass poverty. And I think we should do something about that.
All we need is a bottle of chlorine to be splashed into the gene pool to get rid of these kind of people. Like how hard is it to raise your kid to read and learn instead of becoming this dumb. FUCK MY GENERATION.
Once again proving the point that a majority of people who use Twitter at all are complete morons.
fixed
fixed
i don't think that's true
What's this "school" thing you speak of? Is it on TV?
I used to watch Titanic on VHS 2 times a day when I was a little shit on the carpet and even then I knew it was real.
Just fucking pathetic.
Are you kidding me?
I knew about this when I was 8.
This is mind-blowing that people that have already been through school don't know what the Titanic was.
IN THE MOVIE, THEY EVEN HAD A SURVIVOR WORKING ON SET.
Im going to invent a place that forces kids to learn stuff... I'll called it skool and kids will think its kool becoz it has the word kool in it.

Oh, a Survivor, cool! I love that show!
It wasn't the guy who won in the first season, was it? God, I can imagine it would be, like, SO awkward with him walking around the set naked everywhere.
Hey guys! guess what!
this world war thingy in captain america actually happened! woaaaaah!
i don't think that's true
Said the obvious Twitter user
People still care about the Titanic?
Twitter - "Didn't know Schindler's List was actually based on a real event...wow"
Omg!!! Those poor jews :( I hope they are okay.

I don't know what kind of fucked society you grew up in, but where I live I have to say intelligence is encouraged
"Holy shit, Anne Frank was real!?"
"Holy shit, Vasilij actually did that!?"
"WOW! The Berlin Wall was not a fictive story!"
"Next they're gonna tell me that Gandhi was for real!"

Sorry, I have to admit I had to Google this one.
EDIT: Wait, that didn't help at all.
