I thought the title said "2500 year old Phoenician port designed to build skyscrapers" at first.
that would've been way cooler.
got to deal with this guys... hell if Ireland ever going metro, you can tell in the future that they will remove Stonehenge for some other building.

But stonehenge isn't in ireland.
Facepunch would be screaming if they would renew the colosseum to the point that it is identical to what it was thousands of years ago.

Yes becuase the only way they could do that would be to either destroy and rebuild it or cover it with new stonework to the extent that the actual Roman part of the ruin is lost forever.
As someone who really loves history this is one hell of a kick to the balls. That structure has been there for 2500 years and they just demolished it to put some skyscrapers there, so god damn annoying.

If they restored it I wouldn't mind so much, but if they demolished it and rebuilt it then it would kind of defeat the object of it being there.
