This is the reason why every sauna should have a temperature of 80-95 celsius.
Oh hey I've got an idea let's put an older man into a scolding hot sauna yeah I'm smart!
what kind of contest is that I would probably die within 30 seconds
Oh God, the skin, it's melting off D:
I hate saunas. Prefer steam rooms.
Well, we have locally respected competitions in tractor pulling, rubber-boot throwing, woman carrying and swamp soccer, so I'm not really surprised at all.
:finland: huh? no finland emote? :sweden:
I'd totally try it
I cook food at 110C in my fucking oven! How could they even be in that kind of environment for 1 second?
I don't get their culture and Saunas. Is it more of a social thing? or does the cold there usually require nearly every household to have a really humid and hot room.
It's relexing as hell and after chilling in Sauna and taking a Shower you feel 2000x cleaner than just by taking a shower, it's almost like being born again with a new body. Cold has nothing to do with Saunas, we actually use Saunas a lot more on summertime.
At first I thought that 110 degrees wasn't all that hot, but then I noticed it was in Celsius. Damn, those people are crazy.
-
Am I wrong to think of fried chicken when I look at that picture?
Wow, he stuck it out 'till his death. That's determination.
Oh hey I've got an idea let's put an older man into a scolding hot sauna yeah I'm smart!
this was a trained professional who had done it for years, and of his own free will.
this was a trained professional who had done it for years, and of his own free will.
Apparently he missed Anti-Skin melting 101.
Saunas fucking rock, now they can kill you, that's even more badass!
Saunas are pretty awesome, especially sitting in a 60-80 degree sauna for a while and then dipping into a cool lake. Feels good, man.
I can't stand Saunas, and I'm used to friggin 40-30C degrees. Poor guy.
When they started racing the heat was 110C. Every 30 seconds, ½ liter of water gets thrown on to the stove, unconfirmed information says they were in there 6 minutes.
I cook food at 110C in my fucking oven! How could they even be in that kind of environment for 1 second?
110C = 212F. You're not going to be cooking much below 350F. That being said, even an oven at 500F doesn't burn your arm off in "1 second" when you reach in to retrieve the food.
I didn't even know there was such thing as a "Who can say in a sauna the longest?" competition.
I didn't even know there was such thing as a "Who can say in a sauna the longest?" competition.
Learn something new every day :P.
I was in a sauna that reached 110C once. I got dizzy and got out of there real quick. Shit was intense.
110C is fucking insane considering water boils at 100
110C is fucking insane considering water boils at 100
That's only half the story. A glass of water in a 110C room won't start boiling for a very very long time.
I don't know why everyone says his skin is melting in the pic. it's peeling, not melting, if it was melting then the sauna would probably be at fatal temperatures. apart from that, saunas are fun to chill out in with friends, but they can get crazyingly hot if you make it too humid.
Did we learn anything from that guy from oprah with the big tent? No!?!?..... Then we still have a problemb (lays the guy on the table)
I didn't think this'd actually make international news.
What the fuck at that picture. People are dumb asses.
