Makes me wonder. How will they ship it? [editline]29th July 2012[/editline] the website is awesome too.
if everyone here chips in $20 it'll only take 50,000 of us to buy one!
Literally any anti-armor weapon would destroy a mech due to their light armor in order to keep up decent speeds. It's a pipe dream that may be very cool, but probably not even remotely possible as a real weapon. Maybe crowd control?
when are we finally going to invent joints that won't take fucking 10 minutes to move
Time to go steal mommy's credit card
to be fair I don't honestly know of any statutes on mech-mounted weaponry in any Department of Transportation. I'm sure there's some stuff in there like "no JATO rockets on your roof" but I don't think the law has quite caught up with the mechanized hardsuit market.
didn't a guy in england get in trouble because his wheelchair was considered a tank?

Maybe crowd control?
But that can be said for pretty much any armored transport if you're talking about weapons designed specifically to take out armor. Even the best tanks in the world don't have so much faith in the armor that they don't use chaff and other countermeasures. The armor itself is mostly to protect against small-arms. Throw the standard countermeasures on there and you'd have a decent urban patrol platform. Sure, it's clunky as fuck but it still looks a hell of a lot more maneuverable than an M1A1 and it would be a preferable to the "walk around until I hear sniper reports" strategy urban patrol has right now. This kind of thing would work best against an insurgency in an urban environment. It'd never be a front-line assault unit. Yeah, it could go down if you shoot rockets at it, but that would also mean your enemy would need to find a lot more rockets for places they typically don't keep or use them. An inconvenience to the enemy is nothing to be trifled with.
Yeah, it's obviously shit for any actual combat, but what about crowd control?
But what if I don't want to buy one
Awesome, but the price is ridiculous. The manufacturing cost probably isn't even a tenth of the price.
Awesome, but the price is ridiculous. The manufacturing cost probably isn't even a tenth of the price.
You know they probably build the majority of all this by hand, right?
It's magnificent. I, for one, welcome our new Japanese overlords!
I wonder if this thing is street legal in the US.
no, it doesn't have turn signals
Soon
Awesome, but the price is ridiculous. [editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
no, it doesn't have turn signals
Oh, then it will be fine because nobody else uses those :v:
I can imagine someone walking out on an airsoft shooting-field in that. There would be panic. [editline]a[/editline] ahaha 1,3 million dollars
Guys, if we ever go to war with Japan, we're pretty much fucked
Except for the fact that they don't have an army or really anything. We kinda took care of that post WWII.
Now we need one with legs.
smile shot seems so evil
This just shows that if we go to war with Japan they most likely have one of these except with actual rockets and bullets with better armor. I wouldn't be surprised if their building a army of these while in the US we're calling the president and government officials evil Muslims and such.
didn't a guy in england get in trouble because his wheelchair was considered a tank?
That's England, if you carry so much as a bat you'd probably get arrested. (I remember seeing a facepuncher post that, so don't take word on that.)
cockpit design reminds me of an AT Scopedog hell, it they replaced the wheels with rollerdash you have a fully functional scopedog
no, it doesn't have turn signals
I don't think it would be very hard to install turn signals on something like this.
If I ever had the pleasure of buying one of these I would custom order it to have speakers play this full blast.
a giant mech that fires water rockets that "once in awhile hit their target" and BB pellets has worse armament than an abrams thanks Sherlock
I was referring to the hypothetical capabilities of the design. Actual weapons would probably knock it on it's ass due to the recoil. Tanks are simply a much more stable firing platform than anything with legs. If you want something more mobile than a tank for anti-infantry in close quarters, exoskeletons are a much more promising technology.
I don't think it would be very hard to install turn signals on something like this.
you could technically use hand signals I think
Guys, if we ever go to war with Japan, we're pretty much fucked
What harm can they do with water bottle rockets and gatling BB guns?
you could technically use hand signals I think
It has full translation controls on the arms so you could use bike turn signals
Mechs are on it's infancy, same way how tanks were really not much better than horses when they were first rolled out. Just wait a couple of years, practical applications will come up.
i want to pilot one of these while wearing an exosuit
Mechs are on it's infancy, same way how tanks were really not much better than horses when they were first rolled out. Just wait a couple of years, practical applications will come up.
Pretty sure they outclassed horses
