Sorry, are you telling me this or thisispain? Because he's the one who's argument is based pretty heavily on opinions.
both our arguments are heavily based on opinions you ding bat
People are drawn to Manson because he's different. The same reason you stare at the ranting bum on the sidewalk rather than not even notice him like everyone else. He also says smart sounding things so people try to adopt his philosophy and idolize him.

Your's has mostly been "these musicians are good and Charles Manson is bad so he is bad."
He used his smuggled cellphone for a happy birthday.
That's just being counter productive.
He doesn't want out of jail, actually. Don't think he really cares.

If I was in prison for life, with virtually no chance of parole, I'd just stop giving a shit.

uh yeah
I imagine it's just like the Shawshank Redemption, where you just get so used to prison, and life's changed so much that you'd rather remain in prison until you die.

I'd probably pull some crazy shit as well.

like this, maybe.
The second you argue something using an opinion, the other person can rip it to shreds.
You can't just turtle and be like LOLNOPE IT'S AN OPINION YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING.
Umm well, you really can with music, considering it's pretty subjective and all...
I bet people on FP think Jim Jones is just misunderstood as well.
I bet people on FP think Jim Jones is just misunderstood as well.
Yeah same with Hitler, Ceasescu, and Pol Pot. They never killed anyone, they were just misunderstood!
Yeah same with Hitler, Ceasescu, and Pol Pot. They never killed anyone, they were just misunderstood!
They'd probably drink poison Kool-Aid from the first charismatic nutjob who offered it to them.
I bet people on FP think Jim Jones is just misunderstood as well.
Jim Jones was a religious nut who believed that he was the reincarnation of Jesus, Gandhi, Buddha, Lenin, and Father Divine. He was legitimately insane.
I'd like to stress that he believed he was the reincarnation of people who died after he was born.

Right, and ol' Chuck made so much more sense.
Even if Manson wasn't insane, that would only serve to make him an even worse person.

That's just about as crazy as believing the Black race will overtake the whites in an apocalyptic war, and the only way to survive is to lead his chosen people into the desert to eventually build up a tribe of 144,000 people to retake the planet.
Of course, he got this from a Beatles song.
is anyone actually debating charles manson is a bad person or was it just my tangents about bjork that distracted people
I find this funny because he never actually killed anyone. He told his family to, and they did.
I'm not saying the man is a genius, but he can't be as batshit insane as people make him out to be if he was so easily able to manipulate people into killing.

Because looks determine everything.
HE HAS A SWASTIKA ON HIS FACE
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU
really
That's just about as crazy
I disagree. I think that believing you're the reincarnation of several gods, as well as someone who didn't die until 30 years after you were born, is just a tad be more crazy.

Lots of former gang members, especially ex-cons, have tattoos from gangs that they no longer take part in.
The other day, I saw a guy on the bus with a tear drop tattoo under is left eye, which means he had killed someone. He was with his wife and child.
Looks don't determine a damn thing.

Hey look, you're giving me one of those opinions you were arguing about previously.
Are you seriously trying to idolize Manson? I really want to believe you're just trolling, which is probable.
nope
that's fact
I don't think you know what fact means. What I just said is an opinion. What you were saying is also an opinion. A fact is something which is just true. Like, you're smelly.

what you know about my natural body odors
Hey look, you're giving me one of those opinions you were arguing about previously.
You were arguing whether Manson's beliefs are better, equal to, or worse than Jim Jones' beliefs.
I was arguing whether Manson's beliefs are better, equal to, or worse than Jim Jones' beliefs.
Sorry, you can't just debase my argument as opinion when we're arguing about the exact same thing.
Are you seriously trying to idolize Manson? I really want to believe you're just trolling, which is probable.

I'm not idolizing him. He manipulated people into doing horrible things, and was promoting a race-war fueled apocalypse. He's neither a prophet nor an admirable person. But if you don't recognize a person's strengths, you're more liable to be overcome by them.
I like having to repost things I've said earlier.
i'm confused because i got dumbed for saying manson wasn't a smart person
no-one actually gave me a valid reason for why manson should be considered a smart person
you should totally care what someone on the internet thinks of you.
you should totally care what someone on the internet thinks of you.
no seriously i wanna know
then you deserve that dumb.
i'm confused because i got dumbed for saying manson wasn't a smart person

Because he managed to brainwash already unstable women by taking them out of society, making himself the only form of communication they have with the outside world, and giving them large amounts of drugs. He basically just used pretty standard tactics to control someone, couple that with the drugs and their predisposition to being submissive, and you have a dangerous combination.

Because the things he did required intelligence regardless of whether or not they were morally good.
Because the things he did required intelligence regardless of whether or not they were morally good.
He did things I could do right now (based on what I know), does that mean I should be regarded as a charismatic genius if I did the same thing?

If you seriously managed to do everything Manson did, I'd say you were intelligent.
Of course, you'd also be in prison for life with virtually no chance of parole, but hey. At least you'd be smart.
