including ftp, which means an attacker can download and run any program
Uninstalled it from firefox, but where the hell is "about:plugins" in Chrome? All I know is Tools > Extensions.

Nevermind.

Just type about:plugins in the omnibox.
Well, I can assume that i'm safe because nothing Uplay related shows up in my plugins menu, and I went through the link and Calculator didn't open.
Almost felt from my chair laughing.
I consider Kaspersky Internet Security as the best all-in-1 security tool for my home PCs and the one back at office.
Now, if you can't afford it, or you run it on a crappy laptop, you don't deserve it and might consider it shitty.
Try Avira/Panda and good luck on stopping anything trojan/phishing/browser related problems.
This just in, poor people don't deserve antivirus programs.
I never even got the chance to play Future Soldier too... buggy ass game
Never purchasing an Ubi title on PC again
Microsoft Security Essentials + SpyBot: S&D + Malwarebytes > your shit
Just go ahead and install 3-5 softwares that do the job of one.
Then feel good about it.
Especially being protected by microsoft. What a joke.
And no, I don't advertise Kaspersky, I recommend it, after testing all the bullshit AV and firewall softwares out there.
No wonder most of them can't flag a small/new trojan or browser exploit.
funny, I have RUSE in my steam library but since this is a new PC I didn't install it.
saved myself a lot of trouble there.

I just have MSE and I, a single individual that knows his way around the internet, therefore knows it is the 100% the best AV on the internet.
my opinion has no bias.

Well you know seeing as Microsoft made Windows I trust them more than Avast or norton etc. Also I rarely use Malware Bytes or Spybot unless I know I may have some sort of bug swarming on my computer.
MSE doesn't give you those bullshit popup alerts about them updating the version, it uses less resources and runs quietly in the background, even a quick scan doesn't drag the computer behind.
So I don't know if you're trying your hardest to make yourself look like a complete dumbcunt but if you are, boy is it working.
I probably don't have it because I bought a disc copy and never updated the game.
My computer was vulnerable. Disabled the plugin, thanks for the head's up.
Noscript prevents the exploit from working if the site happens to be blocked, it seems.
Just occurred to me that people who pirated the games (not that I condone it, even for cunts like Ubisoft) aren't affected by this or Uplay installing it's own little plugins without asking you.
So, if you'd pirated one of the games on the list, you'd be better off in two ways than if you'd pirated it.
Your logic behind the use of DRM is hilarious, Ubisoft, it's not only an incentive to not buy it, it also threatens your computers security if you do. :v:
Good job Ubisoft. Glad I don't own any of their more recent titles.
I personally use AVG, but there really is no better anti-virus than common sense. You don't need the best AV around if you're careful about what links you click on.
Of course, there are always exceptions, such as this, but that's just a case of keeping up to date on things like this.
What the fuck is Uplay
Kaspersky is garbage.
Kaspersky is actually good, for one reason:
It is Russian, based in Moscow, and the majority of viruses are actually from Russia (with love)
So, the virus circulates around Russia first, getting picked up by Russian anti-viruses. That means by the time it gets here, Kaspersky already has it on the definitions list and you're safe. Of course, not all come from Russia, so it's not 100% safe. Then again, name me one that is!
What the fuck is Uplay
Ubisoft's shit DRM for their PC games.
Lets just sue ubisoft
their DRM is now allowing us to be infected with viruses (other than their horrible DRM client)
I'm never buying from Ubisoft until they get their shit together first.
Plugins disabled; Ubisoft needs to get this shit fixed.
Though I don't have Uplay installed, thanks for the article. Tweeted it out to spread the word (and I suggest the rest of you do so as well).
Shiiiiit. I don't want to uninstall the games because they'd take forever and a half to redownload, so I'm going to hope disabling the browser plug-in will save me.
So my calculator didn't open. Am I ok?
So my calculator didn't open. Am I ok?
Yeah, if the Windows Calculator didn't open, you're fine.
So my calculator didn't open. Am I ok?
Should still check for the plugin, Ubisoft shouldn't install this shit on your PC.
It wouldn't surprise me if they did this all knowingly to check if people pirate ubisoft games.
Make shitty DRM and hurt the customer directly without protecting sales
Good going Ubisoft

I have nothing against Kaspersky but you are hilarious advertising it like it's the only efficient anti malware around and bashing MSE for no reason.
But yeah, just go ahead and buy expensive software to do the job of a free one, then feel good about it.
i dont own ANY of these games!!
