I wonder if channels like AMC and CC will just open up an online subscription service for their own shows eventually
HBO has done it already. If you pay an HBO sub, you can watch all the Game of Thrones you want on an iPad or whatever.
Not gonna happen. At least not for long.
Viacom has a lot of channels and both Viacom AND DirecTV would lose out big if they were taken off.
Viacom would lose a ton of ratings and DirecTV would lose a ton of subscribers.
I saw this last night when I switched to Nick at Night. Then I removed every Viacom owned channel from my box, they've always been greedy little shits anyway.
Everyone else should do the same, see how they like not having viewers.
Ugh if I lose comedy central I won't have south park or futurama or all the other shows.
They better not.
Viacom is one of the very few companies where you hear nothing good because they pretty much own everything that is media.
There's nothing they do but end things, ban things, "copyright" (if you can even call what they do that) and only do things for loads emone.

South Park, Daily Show and Colbert are all online on their respective sites.
South Park, particularly, has a free archive of everything they've ever done (besides the Mohammed episode.)
we lost MTV my sister was watching TV and she tried switching to MTV and it said it was down due to "technical difficulties"
Yup, can't access the channels myself either. rip Directv

Yeah because it's totally going to stay this way for more than a couple of weeks at most (yeah, no it's not)
I'm sure they'll just go on without half their most popular channels

If they try to pull a fast one and raise rates, I WILL BE SO FUCKING PISSED.
I just switched to them a week ago and may God help me I will call every bastard there until my bill is lowered or they let me drop and then I can go back to dish with their fixed rates.
Uh-oh.
All of the Viacom Channels have now been removed from the DIRECTV guide and moved to DTV labeled channels starting in the 8200's.
Looks like the Nick Channels will soon air the DIRECTV Kids Mix channel.
It was less about South Park Studios. I recall someone saying if it had just been them getting threatened, they would have given everyone the middle finger and said fuck it.
Problem was that, once the assholes realized Matt and Trey can't be intimidated, Comedy Central, Viacom and other affiliated offices were receiving a lot of serious threats. So they pulled the episodes to protect bystanders.
Basically, asshole extremists figured they'd defend the honor of their peaceful religion by threatening to firebomb anyone who ever met Matt and Trey.

Hopefully they release in the future either online or DVD release.
Oh jeez, Viacom just shot themselves in the foot with a howitzer.
Well looks like its time to switch to watching purely Netflix and going to the Colbert Report's website.
Unbelievable.
Thanks Viacom! I fucking love not being able to watch Futurama now!
Stupid assholes.
So fucking glad we have Time Warner Cable, Viacom made the biggest dick move in a while.
lol xfinity is shit
Please, explain why it is shit rather than making such a bold comment.
I have used it for years. it work fine for me and includes everything we need.
What, people still watch TV?
They don't air Formula 1 live on hulu or netflix, and netflix's stash of Top Gear is three seasons old. So I still watch TV. DTV, to be precise.

Didn't Time warner cable have troubles with viacom with this same issue?
People keep torrenting shit and we don't know whyyyyyyyyyyy.
Welp, Comedy Central is gone, thanks a lot Viacom you assholes.
I seriously think Viacom might be the most unprofessional company I've seen in awhile, in the sense of their PR. Just look at their retweets.
Wow good job Viacom, now the only way for alot of people to watch the most recent episodes to there shows is to pirate them, great job.
This completly sucks for me, not only is that about everything I watch on DirectTV, but we can't switch to anything cause we have an insane amount of recievers, tivos and T.Vs that would all have to be changed to comcast boxes or Dish boxes; it would cost a fortune :suicide:
https://twitter.com/search/%23TeamComcast
:suicide:
They act like a bunch of self-righteous pricks just because they use a different service provider.
lol
ouch that's why i lost teennick
fuckers will pay with blood
[del]And you just got dropped, DirectTV. Not because of that, but due to Viacom's actions.
Those shows where the only reasons I kept it.[/del]

Scratch that, I'll wait things out and see how it goes.

I have to be honest, though. I enjoy that DirecTV is being open about what's happening and not keeping it hidden from everyone.
Meh, Futurama and South Park are too big to die like this.
I bet that a Media Company that knows what they're doing will get them back.
Either way this is a really large loss for Viacom. They just lost some very popular and money-producing channels and shows, the bastards will most likely fall.
