This would be a valid comparison if the republicans had elected anyone other than trump. But they elected trump. I'd consider any politician on the dem side who doesn't put up a fight against him to be a spineless asskisser tbh. This is unacceptable.
As if they would have worked with any of the others pushing for conservative policy.

In your opinion.
Good. Don't give Trump and the Republicans an inch of ground, if we're serious about protecting reproductive rights, healthcare access, and civil rights for LGBT people and immigrants for the next four years, then fighting the Republican Party is the only way to do it.

This is a good point, people should absolutely consider if the reason it's "different this time" is solely because the president being blocked holds ideas that we personally disagree with this time around.
Ultimately however, The answer is no.
In Trump's case we also have the question of his competence, or lack of as it may be. As we have already seen with his "dealings" with mexico, the dude is prepared to ruin the relationship with America's southern neighbour- an important trading partner - for the sake of his own fragile ego.
We have the fact that Trump's campaign, and even his policy have been tainted with a frankly disturbing level of pandering to xenophobia and racism. I shouldn't have to explain why that's unacceptable.
We have seen several moves from Trump that could be interpreted as highly authoritarian. In his first week alone.
This isn't about his politics simply being unpalatable, it's the fact they could very well be dangerous.
It is funny how huge hypocrites the democrats are after what happened to Obama and how strongly they themselves denounced that type of tactics. But then again, they consider themselves to have the moral high-ground. History repeats itself! Just reversed roles this time!
they arent doing it out of spite, obama quite often outstretched olive branches, Trump howevever is tossing Molotovs. he is the most unpopular president in modern history and with the republicans rubber stamping him he has no check right now which is extremely dangerous
Wow, you guys are nuts.
Except they didn't have a justifiable reason
OBAMA WAS A SOCIALIST KENYAN
Trump is rocking a "either you're fully with us, or fully against us" mentality, so they really couldn't do any other thing anyway.
Atleast they're honest about it instead of pretending to play along and then sabotage.
More like all the more reason not to do it. If it was shit with Obamas diplomatic attitude, imagine what shitshow for the democrats this is gonna be
And this is why I become Independent Green for this in my state
