Please tell me another effective way for a 10 year old to promote a cause such as this and not be taken as a complete joke.
Write letters, join protests, whatever everyone else does. Yeah, he is going to have limitations to what he can do, but thats because he is 10 years old.
There are better ways to promote a cause than not standing up during the pledge. It's one thing to actually strive for social reform, its another just to be a big douche. I pledge to the U.S, as a country. I don't pledge to the government.
You're over thinking this a bit too much.
The kid is 10 years old, he recognized one section of the pledge he doesn't think fits with what is going on, so he refuses to do the pledge. That's all there is to it.
Video is hilarious, by the way.

No one posted it, so I did.
-Wrong thread snip-
You guys have to pledge to your flag? How weird.
Cool kid though.
Pledging Allegiance to the Nations Flag while in school seems... you know... Communistic, anyway
If someone doesn't have the same rights that everyone else in this country does, even though they're a legal citizen, then They shouldn't have to pledge their allegiance to jack shit, ESPECIALLY to the flag of the country that claims itself as the Land of Equal Opportunity
It seems like an arbitrary thing to protest. It's like refusing to say 'excuse me' after you burp in a country that discriminates against gay people.

As soon as people found he was 10 they wouldn't take him seriously anymore

If he doesn't want to pledge, then he doesn't have to. I'm just pointing out my opinion that I think refusing to pledge sends off the wrong message. Don't burn the flag, wash it.

Propaganda is bad unless it's American propaganda then it's patriotism and good :patriot::patriot::patriot:

The pledge deals directly with "equality and freedom for all", it's not totally random like your example.

Oh boy this 10 year old needs to lead us equal rights for toddlers!
USA USA
Freedom!

A week ago, if I said that if a young kid wanted to protest something he should not pledge, would you think people would "take him seriously"?

You don't have to say it. GAWD.

I don't think it does when you hear his reasoning and all. There's not much more he can do for his cause.
I want him as my lawyer.
Right now.
He had gay friends at 10?
Oh boy this 10 year old needs to lead us equal rights for toddlers!

He's doing what he can for what he believes in, what's wrong with that?
-snip-
I'm trying to figure out what surprises me more- the fact that he's taking action in such issues at a young age or the fact that someone in the South is actually supporting gay rights.
I'm watching the video now. This kid has an amazing vocabulary for a 10 year old. He's probably a very smart child.
I don't think it does when you hear his reasoning and all. There's not much more he can do for his cause.
Because it's patriotic as fuck to not stand for the pledge of allegiance. And don't tell me he can't comprehend that because this is the 10 year old future politician genius according to CNN and weaboos around the world

This. Also there is nothing in the pledge that would lead me to believe it insights hate against bumthumpers.
ITT: Gays unite under new leader.

Not at all, but refusing to pledge got him on CNN and got his view and opinions some exposure did it not?
A ten year old has friends who are gay?
When I was ten everyone thought that Gay meant stupid.
You don't have to say it. GAWD.
But you do...
Good kid. All of you people calling him a gaywad are more queer than he is.
Not at all, but refusing to pledge got him on CNN and got his view and opinions some exposure did it not?
I saw a 5 minute story on Michael Jackson being naturally carved into a tree after he died which looked nothing liked him.
24/7 news casts ftw
"Gaywad? W-w-what's a gaywad?"
That reporter is hilarious
I don't think it does when you hear his reasoning and all. There's not much more he can do for his cause.
There isn't much anybody can do about his or her cause. If I went to the protests against the tuition increase here at my college, do you think the administration would suddenly support us? Sometimes you can't do much to help a cause, but that doesn't mean you should spread your message the wrong way.
i always just mouthed the words when they forced us to
Good kid. All of you people calling him a gaywad are moe queer than he is.
"hurr hurr anyone who doesn't believe in gay rights is a fagget"
