damn straight, this is an outrage. I think I will send angry emails to valve demanding back my $5 from like 7 years ago for hl:source
It is what it is. It wasn't an outrage when it first came out, it was just a passive "meh" because they passed up on the chance to bring a great classic like HL back to life with a modern engine.
Satan is skiing to work.
Lol What about the night it comes out? Let's hope whatever download service they use for BMS doesn't get buttfucked
Lol What about the night it comes out? Let's hope whatever download service they use for BMS doesn't get buttfucked
They'll have a torrent. I'm sure someone on FP will get it before the site crashes.
Why would you be insulted? "How dare you recreate this old great game you love with modern graphics and sound to make it even better than before, and then release it for totally free for the fans!"
Except valve did the same thing with Half-Life: Source. Apparently that wasn't good enough for these people. Except for the game being free, that wasn't implemented.
Except valve did the same thing with Half-Life: Source. Apparently that wasn't good enough for these people. Except for the game being free, that wasn't implemented.
it was never Valve's intention for HL:S to be a remake. It was just a tech thing for source they sold. People at Valve are excited for Black Mesa as well, I highly doubt they are insulted. And this isn't the same thing, this mod is HL1 recreated from scratch for the source engine with new textures, models and sounds, voice acting, level designs and music. HL:S wasn't. You can't even compare the two.
Great timing, I'm just about done with my Half-Life: Source playthrough.
Dissapointed it's only up to lambda core, oh well
They'll have a torrent. I'm sure someone on FP will get it before the site crashes.
Magnet links.
I'm assuming this will be free? I haven't really kept up to date because well, you know why
I'm assuming this will be free? I haven't really kept up to date because well, you know why
No it costs 60 dollars with xen dlc packs costing 15$ per map monthly
2190 days for 14 chapters / 4 chapters = 547.5 days until xen is complete. Lets start counting boys
If you play the game slow enough you'd be completely fine! If you play legitimately 59.17 seconds a day you'd be done (with a 9 hour long game) just in time for xen!
wait is the lambda core where the resonance cascade happens or the part where you jump to xen?
The Webmaster in regards to downloading come release day http://forums.blackmesasource.com/showpost.php?p=481162&postcount=8
wait is the lambda core where the resonance cascade happens or the part where you jump to xen?
Part where you jump to Xen, guarantee the chapter will end with you jumping into the Xen Portal
2190 days for 14 chapters / 4 chapters = 547.5 days until xen is complete. Lets start counting boys
Shouldn't it kind of be partially done by this point anyway??
im looking forward to TAU CANNON the SHIT out of everything and shoving SNARKS up marines ASSES IN SOURCE
im looking forward to TAU CANNON the SHIT out of everything and shoving SNARKS up marines ASSES IN SOURCE
FUCK YEAH
Faster than Gabe.
I'm looking forward to fighting the HECU again full stop
I'm looking forward to fighting the HECU again full stop
I'm hoping they are actually hard like they are in HL1 and not just reskinned combine troops
On the bright side, at least they ARE making the Xen levels, even if it won't be included on release.
I'm hoping they are actually hard like they are in HL1 and not just reskinned combine troops
They weren't hard in HL1 though, it took like 30 bullets to kill you.
They were hard in HL1 , it took like 30 bullets to kill them.
Hah, what a nice birthday surprise :)
Making a mod that recreates and improves an award winning fps that wasn't made on the same engine or with the amount of technology that we have today in mind does have the tendency to take very long.
The guys doing Natural Selection 2 went from making an original (well a sequel to their original) mod to scrapping it and writing their own engine from scratch and they're about ready to release a AAA quality title, and their team consists of like 10 or less people. I know it's just a mod, but they've been given the blueprints and the tools to make it by Valve. I would expect this type of dev time for an extremely well done, original total conversion or something.
I love Natural Selection 2 to death; but i'd say that's pushing it a little. (Sorry to go off topic)
Alright, well I'm just saying that what they've done with what they have is far more difficult and impressive. And since they started again on a new engine, it took less time.
im looking forward to TAU CANNON the SHIT out of everything and shoving SNARKS up marines ASSES IN SOURCE
Why am I limited to only one Agree?
I'm hoping they are actually hard like they are in HL1 and not just reskinned combine troops
no shit, no shit [editline]3rd September 2012[/editline]
Stay away from the bullet-hose MP5, and they're very easy to take care of
apart from the fact(s) they throw grenades work together seek cover when wounded hit and run tactics so no, they're not easy. that is of course if you're not a scrub and are playing on anything other than hard
A tip of the hat to Joel and the Black Mesa Team. The project they've undertaken this past near-decade must've been quite an adventure. I'm actually kind of sad, knowing the wait is almost up, but also happy. I find it quite sad some people are getting spoiled because the BM team won't include Xen in the first release, but they know they'll get a completely pimped-out revision of the chapter later on.
