HNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG [editline]2nd September 2012[/editline]
I wonder what Valve thinks of this. I'd be insulted.
Half Life: Source was the laziest thing I've ever seen them sell, honestly.
Half Life: Source was the laziest thing I've ever seen them sell, honestly.
Valve made HL:S to show how you can convert games to it, it was never meant to be impressive or a remake. It was sort of a tech demo.
I'm not going to pay for a fucking mod, nor are they going to sell it as its a mod. They've repeatedly said that its free, nada.
im p sure steam greenlight can fall into free mods or f2p games
Now I can truly be the one free man
I wonder how different it will be from the 2009 trailer, I will be comparing
Raminator has said comparasions will be posted.
Valve made HL:S to show how you can convert games to it, it was never meant to be impressive or a remake. It was sort of a tech demo.
They put a price tag on it! They could have just converted the first 2 chapters and handed it out for free is all I'm saying.. Lost Island was a tech demo, too.
I wonder what Valve thinks of this. I'd be insulted.
Of all game companies, Valve is likely to be one of those who'd be extremely happy about this.
Valve are almost certainly excited for it. Valve will have been following it just like the rest of us.
Raminator has said comparasions will be posted.
I like Raminator. She has a pretty nose
from raminator.
My heart skipped a beat while reading this holy shit
<insert obligatory fucking finaly text here> This was unexpected, and I fucking can't wait for it. Also, those COD graphics whore kids can now experience the FUN and greatness of Half-Life. I couldn't make my friends play HL because they don't like its graphics so it's a great fucking time to show them the great fucking awesomeness of Half-Life.
I wouldn't be jumping in joy yet. They've had a lot of release dates been kept back before. This one is more solid though.
by more solid you mean like 3 days = 3 months? So it's coming out in a few months.
I'm not going to pay for a fucking mod, nor are they going to sell it as its a mod. They've repeatedly said that its free, nada.
Implying there aren't free games on steam?
I wonder what Valve thinks of this. I'd be insulted.
What? Why would have be insulted that a mod team spent their free time in recreating the Half-Life experience?
6 Years of development up to lambda core, another 6 years till the end of the game.
Why would you be insulted? "How dare you recreate this old great game you love with modern graphics and sound to make it even better than before, and then release it for totally free for the fans!"
It isnt really modern, its 2007 graphics. Oh wait, criticized something Valve made impending dumb spam.
I'm gonna blow. Unnnghh
When Xen is released is it going to be an update to Black Mesa or its own separate mod?
When Xen is released is it going to be an update to Black Mesa or its own separate mod?
There hasn't been a response to that yet, I'm assuming it would be an update.
It isnt really modern, its 2007 graphics. Oh wait, criticized something Valve made impending dumb spam.
There have been numerous engine updates and improvements. Where have you people come from, because you sure haven't been keeping up with the mod progress?
Why are they not finished the entire game by now???????
There have been numerous engine updates and improvements. Where have you people come from, because you sure haven't been keeping up with the mod progress?
They're using the last major source SDK release, which was in 2007.
There have been numerous engine updates and improvements. Where have you people come from, because you sure haven't been keeping up with the mod progress?
Yet today its still very dated compared to what PC's are capable of today.

god i remember seeing this image from like 2003-2004 or so
god i remember seeing this image from like 2003-2004 or so
It's a photoshop.
All we need now is for Gabe to just pop onto his Twitter account and happen to say something along the lines of "Half-Life 3 is on Steam right now, go buy it." :v:
Amazing work BMS team, this will probably be the biggest thing modders have done in the history of gaming.
Mmm pretty sure it's still Macho Man Randy Savage dragons
Why are they not finished the entire game by now???????
Making a mod that recreates and improves an award winning fps that wasn't made on the same engine or with the amount of technology that we have today in mind does have the tendency to take very long.
They put a price tag on it! They could have just converted the first 2 chapters and handed it out for free is all I'm saying.. Lost Island was a tech demo, too.
damn straight, this is an outrage. I think I will send angry emails to valve demanding back my $5 from like 7 years ago for hl:source
6 Years of development up to lambda core, another 6 years till the end of the game.
2190 days for 14 chapters / 4 chapters = 547.5 days until xen is complete. Lets start counting boys
