She will always be alive in our hearts
Tomorrow is going to be interesting. Qrios/Eron is doing a chatlog live with 500+ people, and he's revealing a good deal of info. The mods are going to dump all the info into a pastebin. He's not going all out, but he's pointing a lot of good directions for people to move forwards toward.
Of note:

Thanks for keeping us updated on stuff! However, I think it would be good if you'd include a link to the original posts, or if that's not available to the place where you picked it up/the ephemeral discussion happened.
This goes for everyone else too I suppose... If I want to reply to a tweet or signal-boost it, it would be nice to have the link in addition to the screen shot.

Also, re Sarkeesian: There's a lot of things that separate Sarkeesian from Quinn. Love her or hate her, Sarkeesian really does seem to be a pretty decent person, and she cares very deeply about her feminist beliefs. There are some valid criticisms about TvW regarding delayed releases, borrowed footage, and a lack of current content, but those are all issues that are very minor and do not reflect personally on Sarkeesian as a whole. Likewise, everything going on right now is already becoming much more organized than anything ever was against Sarkeesian's videos. People are really pissed now, and they're starting to find out that they have every right to be. The deeper the rabbit hole goes, the more and more proof that everyone in the indie side of journalism was playing dirty pool.

I fully agree with this, her videos got me to think critically more in depth about a few things regardless of how they were produced.
I said something along these lines to someone in a chat before (and it's also really blatantly inspired by an anime), but I think this is worth repeating here: People need to think about what it means if someone or something is "fake" or "real".
Personally, I think they aren't inherently of unequal value in any way, and put the other way around that a "fake" is worth precisely as much as a "real" one. This is dependent on context of course, in that the (in-)genuineness may have a direct impact on the outcome in some circumstances.
In Sarkeesian's case, she may be a "fake" in regards to her caring about video games, but the points she makes are still mostly valid and she is sincere when addressing these issues. This seems to be the main reason why she got a lot of personal attacks too, there simply isn't that much wrong with the videos themselves. In fact you could even argue that in her position a "fake" was worth more, considering how much of an impact this lead to. (I think hers is definitely net-positive. Most of all she enabled a lot of discussion and that can never go wrong if it's done openly.)
Sarkeesian is an idiot though, trying to point out things that are so detached from reality and/or truth. The videos are a direct attack on freedom of speech/art itself, in my opinion, by someone who does not enjoy the media.
It's like someone watching straight porn who doesn't watch porn at all and is gay, then saying that "no straight porn should be made because it influences everyone to be straight"
that may be a terrible analogy and I made edit it to make it better but it's sort of how I feel

She oversimplifies and generalises a lot, but she's hardly fundamentally wrong.

Also that analogy really is terrible, unless you don't differentiate between what a person feels and what they do I suppose. That's a view I really disagree with though.
campaign pages is back up and back to normal!

She's just like Quinn in a way. Using mostly falsified victim status to get Sjw's to propel her into a prominence.

While I don't personally like Sarkeesian, I think she has mostly good intentions.

Not really falsified victim status... I think it's more a case of exaggerated or falsified injustice she uses to "prove" her points.
Which is a shame, because if she did actually good work she could find proper examples.
They just are a bit more subtle than that blatant in-your-face stuff she's usually showing off without context.
A bit more reporting about positive examples wouldn't hurt either... if she actually did that so far. I need to catch up with her videos.
He doesn't get along with InternetAristocrats though, due to the Dina shit.
The Dina shit?
While I don't personally like Sarkeesian, I think she has mostly good intentions.
To me it seems more like she saw an opportunity to milk some dumbasses for money and took it.

I feel like a lot of her points are legitimate, but in every video I've seen of hers it seems like every single point she raises is discredited immediately by the footage she shows because everything makes sense in the context of the whole game. I feel like the series would've been so much better if it was helmed by somebody who knew what they were talking about. Anita clearly doesn't understand how to do basic fact checking, or she wouldn't literally defeat her own arguments with the videos she uses to defend her points.
She oversimplifies and generalises a lot, but she's hardly fundamentally wrong.
She's not wrong about the fundamental feminist concepts, but these concepts are not new and she does not add to them in any way. As for applying these concepts to the games she's showing off, I feel she is very much unqualified to discuss the topic.
I also have issues with not allowing discussion on things put in the public space. If not youtube then put the offical discussion topics on Reddit or something and link them. If this past week and a bit is anything to go by, people really don't like having opinions shoved down their throats.
We just posted a pretty extensive chat log about Maya Kramer in the other thread by the way. It goes over her abusive behavior, from someone who knew them personally. Here's the img link:
