/v/ has been nothing but Vivian threads so I'm sort of happy this happened.

I was posting on the other thread not realising this here was made. I'll link to it.

Just when I thought this issue might start to lay down and die.. some motherfucker comes in with a defibrillator.

So like, I've been living under a rock the past month. Can anyone bring me up to speed about what all this is? I already know about most of the shit with that Zoe chick sleeping with like 5 dudes to get a shit game on steam, but what is this?

I'm sure the IGG staff had nothing to do with it, and will fix this in the following hours.

I'm using a lot of "claimed", "supposed", and "alleged" here. That is NOT a reflection on my opinion on the subject, that is merely a disclaimer that we're still in the middle of this and the facts and opinions and speculations are getting all muddled up. The internet is on a giant witch-hunt for Zoe supposedly cheating on her boyfriend with five guys (hence the "Five Guys" stuff), all sorts of related stuff that people have gotten worked up about, but I don't know or care about that. The initial shitstorm started because those "five guys" were games journalists that supposedly gave her game positive coverage. Though IIRC 3/5 of them never covered her game at all, one of them was a copy-paste job in one of those "here's a list of Greenlit games" "articles", and really only the Kotaku one is questionable. Though for that one it's fucking Kotaku and you can't damage journalistic integrity you don't have. Supposedly that article also came before the author's and Zoe's alleged relationship (or so the statement by some important Kotaku boss goes). I should note, however, that games journalists have a lot of industry connections, so some are claiming that while they never covered Zoe's game, they could have put in a good word for Depression Quest. That's mostly behind everyone though, I think. The real current shitstorm is currently centered around the supposed censorship of various articles and discussions written on the fiasco, the indie dev "scene" breaking down under the weight of the drama, and various other things such as TFYC claiming that Zoe brought their previous attempt at this campaign down (not going into that, look it up if you want to know more). Also at some point Zoe claimed her Tumblr was "hacked by /V/", but that's been questioned and labeled as a false flag for several reasons (one of which is that nonstandard capitalization of /v/). Anyway, once TFYC started this IGG campaign /v/ got involved, creating their "Vivian" character. So far they've been the largest donor, wanting their donations to go to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (apparently they want to "chemo butthurt"). I probably missed something along the way. But basically it's just a giant fucking shitstorm and nobody has any idea of what's going on, so I strongly recommend staying out of it until the dust settles. Everybody's yelling at everyone else and there's a lot of the "Bush doctrine" flying around, "for us or against us, no middle ground" type of thing.

The only problem is that the people claiming that seem to be people who have never even been to /v/, and if they did they would realize they are not anywhere near as bad as people make out and actually give a shit about video games before anything else.
