My take on all of this is that I think we shouldn't be meeting immaturity with immaturity of our own, which is what i've seen from some folks that decided to get involved with this situation. Seriously, it helps no one, makes the situation worse and makes you no better than the people you're getting riled up about.

Which section of SA is it in? NVM, GBS.

I've been jumping around SRSgaming and SRS when this whole situation comes up. None of them, especially in gaming, want to admit the circle jerk going on when it comes to bias and such. And even some of them are still sitting by and saying that Eron fucked up and that this is all an angry ex-boyfriend's attempt to defame Zoe. I don't normally hold stock with SRS, they tend to look at things at a microscopic level of black and white. But this infighting is not only new, but scary because you can actually pick out the people who are serious about social justice, and then just the ones doing it to make themselves feel better.

It's pretty meh from a gameplay perspective, but the writing is competent.

The Social Justice movement, especially the ones actually doing social justice work, are going to have to pull back and re-evaluate their stance. I'm hoping they realize that they need to control the message more and also self-criticize and take criticism more. Game Journalism is going to die, it cannot survive something like this without money and since the main core gamers who look for gaming news are already leaving in droves that means they need more clickbait which gains more of the ire of the gaming community. Very soon, companies won't even see it as a worthwhile investment to grease palms. Websites like Reddit, NeoGAF and others are going to have to seriously re-examine their moderator policies and most likely flush out several moderators. In the case of reddit, its either they do that or a bunch of sub-reddits will pop up with moderators who don't listen to the others and tell them to fuck off, creating another schism. Gaming in general, especially the indie scene has taken a serious kick to the genitals. The trust for indie devs has completely washed away with this. Even having implied friendships with journalists puts you on the list of corrupting factors. The Big Developers have always had the ire of corruption and stank of money grubbing, but now the Independent scene's going to have this same ire, or even worse since a lot of gamers are taking as less of a business venture and more like your best friend running off with your significant other. This whole situation is fucked on so many levels and I doubt any real self examination is going to occur. What's most likely going to happen is that in true internet fashion, another series of schisms is going to happen or this will just placed on another laundry list of reasons why people aren't listening to or discussing things anymore.
