They eat us too. Animals eat people all the time.
Not really, no. We have no more predators, except maybe lions sometimes(once, that I know of). Most animals are scared of us because we are superior, and can outsmart/outnumber any predator. [editline]05:16AM[/editline]
Well, a good source of Human meat would be china, but then you have heavy metal poisoning... Which made me realize something, Human meat would have too many variables.
I want free range human, not the ones bred in confined spaces.
From what I know an animal that isn't self aware won't really feel pain. Their body just responds to it. However, once you get self awareness and consciousness you know what pain is and can actually comprehend it. Although I'm no biologist, so take my idea as such.
It all really depends on their nervous system. We have advance brains and nerves, something like a jellyfish, does not even have a brain. Just a primitive nerve that basically tells them when to do shit.
Do trolls feel like humans too? If they do I'd be happy to slice you in half.
Fix'd
All animals feel pain and suffering
Pain is different to suffering.
We have no more predators
microscopic organisms kill us all the time
microscopic organisms kill us all the time
Inadvertently, they don't hunt us and eat us. Our death is just a by-product of them living. [editline]05:21AM[/editline]
It all really depends on their nervous system. We have advance brains and nerves, something like a jellyfish, does not even have a brain. Just a primitive nerve that basically tells them when to do shit.
Yea, I realized what I said was stupid(a dog isn't self aware but they can still suffer). Jellyfish might not feel pain, but it's just the nervous system, not a matter of self awareness or consciousness.
Most animals are scared of us because we are superior, and can outsmart/outnumber any predator.
Yeah, I mean, those animals obviously seen how powerful we are in their history books or on their TVs.
Inadvertently, they don't hunt us and eat us.
some, however, hunt down the cells in our body
Because of our advanced intelligence, I don't see any other animals logging on to facepunch. But nonetheless it's shitty thing to kill whales.
Actually, according to recent studies, Ants are amazingly similar to us. Who's to say they don't have Ant-Facepunch?
Yeah, I mean, those animals obviously seen how powerful we are in their history books or on their TVs.
They adapt over time to their environment. The stupid ones that attack humans and get killed don't get to breed. Ones that fear humans and stay away get to live and teach their offspring the same thing. [editline]05:24AM[/editline]
Actually, according to recent studies, Ants are amazingly similar to us. Who's to say they don't have Ant-Facepunch?
I've never heard that they are similar to us. What I've heard is that they are a lot more advanced socially than we thought they were. Source me please. [editline]05:25AM[/editline]
some, however, hunt down the cells in our body
They do, but that makes them, at most, predators of our cells. They don't hunt humans, they hunt cells.
They adapt over time to their environment. The stupid ones that attack humans and get killed don't get to breed. Ones that fear humans and stay away get to live and teach their offspring the same thing.
Most animals don't actively hunt humans, but if you get too close, or they're particularly hungry, they'll take the opportunity for a free meal.
Yea, I realized what I said was stupid(a dog isn't self aware but they can still suffer). Jellyfish might not feel pain, but it's just the nervous system, not a matter of self awareness or consciousness.
And also once you get the big brain and large nervous system, you need the ability to recognize things like family beyond the basics "have children, keep children safe to help species" thing that pretty much every life form has. There's more and more proof that cetaceans have their own form of advanced communication, a language if you will. It's said they give their offspring names. Dolphins are amazingly smart. They are pretty much self aware.
I've never heard that they are similar to us. What I've heard is that they are a lot more advanced socially than we thought they were. Source me please.
They're similar in the sense that sometimes they actually elect their queen if an heir isn't readily apparent. They also elect less important leaders in ant-society. They're also one of the few living creatures that actually go through the process of declaring war and waging war on another colony. They're also one of the few species that have dedicated sub-species for soldiers, collectors, and leaders, similar to how humans have people that are cut out for soldier work, people that are cut out for hunting/gathering, and people that are cut out for leading. It was on the Colbert Report, this guy wrote a book about it. I'll see if I can find a source real quick.
They do, but that makes them, at most, predators of our cells. They don't hunt humans, they hunt cells.
and we're made of cells.....
Here's the ant society source http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/308738/may-04-2010/mark-moffett EDIT: Broke my automerge...
There's no good reason to hunt for whales.
No shit. :crossarms:
and we're made of cells.....
Cows are made up of elements that once came from stars, does that mean everytime we eat a hamburger we are eating stars? Does it mean we are eating the universe?! [editline]05:34AM[/editline]
Most animals don't actively hunt humans, but if you get too close, or they're particularly hungry, they'll take the opportunity for a free meal.
Exactly, the ones that did either died out or adapted and stopped.
Cows are made up of elements that once came from stars, does that mean everytime we eat a hamburger we are eating stars? Does it mean we are eating the universe?! [editline]05:34AM[/editline] Exactly, the ones that did either died out or adapted and stopped.
The ones that did don't live near civilization.
The ones that did don't live near civilization.
Why not?
Humanity is the apex predator of earth. We use our advanced knowledge and use of tools to dominate the rest of the animal kingdom.
Cows are made up of elements that once came from stars, does that mean everytime we eat a hamburger we are eating stars? Does it mean we are eating the universe?!
yeah, sort of but this has nothing to do with my argument, please try again
Cows are made up of elements that once came from stars, does that mean everytime we eat a hamburger we are eating stars? Does it mean we are eating the universe?!
Yes, then we shit universe.
Humanity is the apex predator of earth. We use our advanced knowledge and use of tools to dominate the rest of the animal kingdom.
And we're the only creatures on earth capable of feeling bad about doing so.
yeah, sort of but this has nothing to do with my argument, please try again
Yea it does, just because we eat or hunt a part of something doesn't mean we eat or hunt that larger something. If I eat the leg of a cow it doesn't mean I just ate the whole cow. [editline]05:42AM[/editline]
And we're the only creatures on earth capable of feeling bad about doing so.
I dunno I think I saw a dog at a peta rally one time.
Everyone should watch "The Cove" it's a good movie about Dolphin slaughtering, and delves into their intelligence.
Yea it does, just because we eat or hunt a part of something doesn't mean we eat or hunt that larger something. If I eat the leg of a cow it doesn't mean I just ate the whole cow.
but you still severely damaged the cow and rendered it incapable of moving to other feeding areas, thus resulting in it starving to death (or getting an infection where the leg was!) microscopic organisms are small predators that destroy parts of our bodies and make it function improperly
And we're the only creatures on earth capable of feeling bad about doing so.
Morality at it's finest.
Yes, let's wipe entire speices off the map just so some fat rich fucks can eat some stupid delicacy. We are truely the smartest and yet stupidest animal on earth.
Actually it's still illegal to hunt for species of whale that are endangered, the Norwegians and Japanese can only hunt for certain types and prey on Minke which is far from endangered. Not saying that I support whaling it's just that making the animal extinct isn't the issue.
Actually it's still illegal to hunt for species of whale that are endangered, the Norwegians and Japanese can only hunt for certain types and prey on Minke which is far from endangered. Not saying that I support whaling it's just that making the animal extinct isn't the issue.
However DNA tests still show that blue whale meat is ending up in Japanese markets. And the Japanese still hunt about 50 Humpback whale's a year, But you're right, they mainly catch Minke whales (In illegal waters however) which are not near endangerment.
