Awww whoops.
this is news guys because evil corporations like BP are killing the whales they can feel it!!!
Don't all mammals?
n 100 years will whaling be seen as genocide?
not unless the meaning of the word changes
fucking japanese raping our oceans...
So can other animals.
Why the hell would you make whaling legal? What could whaling possibly provide that we need so damn much?
ambergris makes nice perfume. and one whale provides tons of meat. imagine the size difference between a whale and a chicken. imagine how many more chickens you need to kill to get as much meat as you would get from killing ONLY 1 whale or any other animal for that matter. can you explain how a hundred odd chicken lives are worth more than just one whale if both species are inferior to human anyway? some people say theyre as clever as humans if they were they wouldnt have been hunted to near extinction. so who cares if they suffer like we do. chickens spend their whole life in disease ridden barns and are literally farmed, their whole life is spent in darkness and they're bred so fat their standard of living is crap. whales get the fucking ocean to roam around and at least they have a chance of escaping. they're hunted not farmed and if they die that's their own shit luck. you can't tell people not to kill a certain creature but be happy enough to eat almost anything else
The only reason why I don't kill whales is because they're not tiny enough to smoosh. The only reason why people care more about whales than say, insects and snakes is because whales are oh so cute (or whatever) and insects are icky and gross. [editline]11:23PM[/editline]
fucking japanese raping our oceans...
Fuck the whales.
Animal = food food = good
Whales aren't a necessity. Honestly, why kill a species that is slowly becoming extinct, especially when that species became useless many years ago? I understand whaling in the 1800's or something, because we'd actually use its blubber for oil-lamps and stuff, but nowadays, we don't really need it for its meat. Just stick to chicken, beef, lamb etc. Leave the whales alone, it's not as if it'll hurt us.
who cares if they suffer like we do. kill them anyway. i'd say every animal feels pain and suffering and if your willing to kill pigs chicken cows and sheep why should whales get off scott free.
Farm animals are killed with quick, painless methods, getting an harpoon up your ass isn't exactly a quick painless death, not to mention farm animals are given time to reproduce, whales are being driven to extintion. [editline]11:57AM[/editline]
when a whale is killed the meat is eaten. species go extinct because they cant survive, it's the natural order, new species evolve old species disappear
Evolution is a thing that takes millions of years, we could extinguish every animal and plant life on Earth in months if we wanted. Also like you said, species go extint because they can't survive, if we kill all species then we wont have anything to eat, leading to our extintion, meaning that we failed to survive.
Aw man, whales can feel and suffer? Does this mean I have to stop screwing with your mom?
All animals feel pain and suffering
you're wrong.
who cares if they suffer like we do. kill them anyway. i'd say every animal feels pain and suffering and if your willing to kill pigs chicken cows and sheep why should whales get off scott free.
ok, how about I stick a harpoon in YOUR chest and we'll see how you like it, [editline]09:51AM[/editline] everyone needs to see star trek 4
Who the hell eats whale? I have never seen anything anywhere serving whale. If we're not eating them, the whole 'hunting fair game' argument is kind of invalid, don't you think?
I really really REALLLLY wouldn't care if the whales went extinct.
Who the hell eats whale? I have never seen anything anywhere serving whale. If we're not eating them, the whole 'hunting fair game' argument is kind of invalid, don't you think?
Myopic world views are the best we're not doing it so nobody else is
I really really REALLLLY wouldn't care if the whales went extinct.
And I really really REALLLLY wouldn't care if someone shot you.
I really really REALLLLY wouldn't care if the whales went extinct.
Do you not have any clue how nature works
ambergris makes nice perfume. and one whale provides tons of meat. imagine the size difference between a whale and a chicken. imagine how many more chickens you need to kill to get as much meat as you would get from killing ONLY 1 whale or any other animal for that matter. can you explain how a hundred odd chicken lives are worth more than just one whale if both species are inferior to human anyway? some people say theyre as clever as humans if they were they wouldnt have been hunted to near extinction. so who cares if they suffer like we do. chickens spend their whole life in disease ridden barns and are literally farmed, their whole life is spent in darkness and they're bred so fat their standard of living is crap. whales get the fucking ocean to roam around and at least they have a chance of escaping. they're hunted not farmed and if they die that's their own shit luck. you can't tell people not to kill a certain creature but be happy enough to eat almost anything else
Let's compare the tools used to kill each animal: First off we have the captive bolt pistol. It's used by the USDA to basically stun/kill the animal instantly before it is processed, the animals feel next to nothing. Next off we have the explosive tipped, rocket propelled harpoon: It's basically an RPG with a spike at the end. It can take up to 30 minutes to kill a whale using this weapon. Go take a grappling hook and ram it into your stomach as hard as you can, throw a large fire cracker into the wound, fill it full of saltwater and hang it off your ceiling whilst shooting yourself in the head with a pellet gun. If all the evidence is true, whales go through the same pain as you would. Here it is in action: Note: That whale was shot multiple times with the RPG Harpoon.

Crude, but holy god damn that's awesome
Check that video at 1:04 The fucking harpoon blew its back open man. Fucking japanese, fuck them.
Check that video at 1:04 The fucking harpoon blew its back open man. Fucking japanese, fuck them.
Why does everyone always associate whaling exclusively with the Japanese, the Norwegian traditions also place heavy emphasis on whaling. Also you'd think after about 5000 years we'd have a more humane way of whaling. [editline]02:48PM[/editline] That's just sick.
All animals feel pain and suffering
But not all animals have deep thoughts and self awareness.
Because of our advanced intelligence, I don't see any other animals logging on to facepunch. But nonetheless it's shitty thing to kill whales.
Oh yes you do...oh yes...you...do... And you know exactly what I'm talking about...
Oh yes you do...oh yes...you...do... And you know exactly what I'm talking about...
So long and thanks for all the fish! But seriously, Why can't fish serve just as well for food?
So long and thanks for all the fish! But seriously, Why can't fish serve just as well for food?
You can taste the intelligence of the whale and it bestows you with more creativity. Amon Amarth must have consumed whales by the hundreds in the beginning.
who cares if they suffer like we do. kill them anyway. i'd say every animal feels pain and suffering and if your willing to kill pigs chicken cows and sheep why should whales get off scott free.
That's stupid logic. If you're going to say that, you may as well go all the way and say that people should be allowed to massacre one another as much as they want.
