I'm not sure whether I should laugh at the stupidity of this or light another candle for all the sensible yanks out there.
I would do the latter but I'm almost setting my house on fire as it is with all these fucking candles I've lit.

You do realize that last names aren't indicative of place of birth, right?
His family could have moved there three hundred years ago. How exactly are this man's views our fault again? If anything, it'd be your educational system, your political system, or your social system.
fuck these jokers
It is a good sign that none of the candidates signed the pledge. I wish neoconservative would go away because the whole ideology is based around forcing your beliefs on others through law.
Dohoho!

I thought that would have been pointed out in the article. Though I only read the quote and it seemed like nobody important signed it. Bachmann is really creepy, especially in how she never really looks at the camera while still looking at the camera.

The thing that angers me the most about this is the blatant hypocrisy and arrogance these two candidates demonstrate. They're running as Republicans, aren't they? Isn't a limited government the cornerstone of Republican fucking politics? And yet Bachmann and Santorum truly intend on dictating, on a federal level, what my morals and lifestyle should be??? Who I can marry? What I can watch on television? How "promiscuous" my culture is allowed to be?
The Defense of Marriage Act currently serves to extend states' rights to define marriage on a state level. Crafting federal legislation to define marriage would take rights away from the states and make the federal government even more powerful. The conservative media would go nuts if Obama were to try anything like that. They'd go on and on about how Obama's anti-American because hes taking power away from the states. And yet Republicans get praise and support from the conservative media for doing the same thing!
And another thing - anyone remember all those scandals that came about during the 2008 Presidential election? You know, the ones about then-candidate Barack Obama's ties to violent left-wing extremist William Ayers? And who could forget the field day conservative journalists had with Jeremiah Wright, Obama's allegedly anti-American pastor? So why in the hell are Republican presidential candidates associating themselves with extremist hate groups?
This is beyond retarded; I'm getting my degree and moving to Canada if any of these morons are elected into office.
I thought that would have been pointed out in the article.
I think it's recent. I only googled the group name to get an idea of membership and then saw that. Supposedly it was posted 2 hours after the OP dropped. That wasn't a "gotcha" dohoho that was a "now this oughta be good" dohoho. And yes, she's creepy.

But you know they aren't representing the GOP, just a substantial (and prone to internal conflict) subset of it composed of the uneducated, racist and otherwise easily influenced along with the money base that wants ignorant tools in positions of power. The issue isn't that they're hypocrites, the issue is that the rest of us don't call them out on being morons or moron funders with ulterior motives.
"– REJECT SHARIA ISLAM: Vow 11 requires the candidate to reject Sharia law."
The last one aint that bad.
At least i agree on the last one.
the last one is just stupidly redundant
The Family...oh shit now they have wise guys :ohdear:

They're part of a thrust of social conservatism that began with nixon which will hopefully die down soon. I would be afraid for america if you got anyone more wrong than santorum and bachmann.

The government would never ever ascribe to it and sharia law's more of a personal thing anyway.

Why don't they add more like "reject widespread forced cannibalism" and "prevent weaponized Wolverine attacks on preschools" and whatever else isn't actually a real threat
But adultery, i.e. a person cheating on his wife without her knowledge, should be discouraged at least
Legally that shouldn't be any business of the government.

Sharia is a threat on western values.

Do you listen to yourself? I'm just asking if you do before you speak or type anything.
There's this thing about separating religion from politics and its used half the time. And the fact that "western" countries have NATO support and most of the worlds military budget. So explain to me in some way how Sharia is a threat on western values?
Sharia is a threat on western values.
In the same way the Combine Universal Union is a threat to Earth. It's an imagined threat from a absolutely miniscule group of loud crazies. They're not an internal threat, and Muslim countries can barely stop killing each other, no way in hell they'd band together to take on the West and actually win, if they were even inclined to.

I think laws based on the bible are more of a threat to western values.

Not every single muslim agrees on how sharia law is to be interpreted either.

So you imply that i think Sharia Fanatics will invade us destroy nato, enslave us and take our values from us?
Perhaps i'm just paranoid since 5 miles from here islamic sharia fanatics made the government gender-separated the bathouse and install massive panels that will cover the windows. So no men can watch in, there will also only be women working during this time. All middle school classes here have also started to gender-separated swimtraining.
What's will be enforced next?

The point is that your government needs to man up.
Separation of church and state should be the most important thing related to religion, on a political level.
The point is that your government needs to man up.
It should be the only religious thing on a political level.
That's the same thing as I said.
It being the most important thing = The only thing, as the rest is separated.
