I could replace Nazism with Fascism, totalitarianism or theocracy.
The point remains, should hatred and bigotry be justified just because it's part of someone's tradition of belief?
He's talking about NOM wanting corporations to be neutral, but their definition of "neutral" is "fuck gay marriage"
oh okay I didn't make the connection
He's simply following biblical tradition. If you don't support gay marriage because you follow biblical tradition, I'm okay with that. It's their belief. But if you don't support gay marriage just because you don't like gays, then I'm not okay with that.
I'm very religious yet I support gay marriage. I believe in equality. Do I believe in traditional marriage? Yes, but I'm still in support of equality.
Sure, I'll admit he's gone a bit overboard. Maybe it was simply blown out of proportion, I don't know. Maybe when I meet him on Monday I will ask him in-depth about the topic. But I just wish facepunch would stop being so one-sided about most things. Sure, I get you all hate religion, but I sometimes wish you'd respect those who actually respectfully follow their belief. I loosely follow my belief. Cathy obviously strictly follows his belief. Sometimes I wish you guys would get over that and respect their differences.

thats a fucking horrible excuse for restricting a major portion of the human race's civil rights
Man, I almost care enough to stop eating their food. Almost. That food is SO good...

I don't recall psychopathy (ref: killing via imaginary voice) being part of biblical belief.
Likewise, 'stoning children' in the bible is a moral analogy to disobeying God and his punishment to those how disobey him.
I know Religious Studies is a sin of a class for facepunch to take, but it clears up a lot easily misinterpretable passages.
national organization for marriage lmao
pitiful that people have to make "national organizations" around treating other humans like shit
fuck off

Oh sorry,God didn't order Abraham to kill his own son how silly of me.
So again everything bad in the bible is purely metaphorical or an analogy.
The amounts of orders that God directly ordered his minions to do is endless whether it's abortion, pillaging, rape or mass murder.
People like you are the reason why the world is such a fucked up place, letting others do whatever they want on the basis of faith.
I don't recall psychopathy (ref: killing via imaginary voice) being part of biblical belief.
then why is it a story in the bible

haha yeah, clearly stating "the child shall be brought to the edge of town and stoned to death" is just a "moral analogy"
fuck off with that excuse. how do you decipher which parts are literal and which part is figurative? you take the entire thing one way or the other. you are just cherrypicking which parts you want to use.
what about the passages that specifically condone slavery, how much you can sell them for, how much you can beat them etc? what's their "moral analogy"?
what's their "moral analogy"?
that it's ok to own, buy, sell, and beat slaves
[editline]20th July 2012[/editline]
wait why doesnt the bible account for inflation and currency conversion when talking about slave pricing?
that's important information!
The owners of this business are elderly, southern, wealthy white folks that are very religious and go to church on sundays. The founder is 91 years old and is still kickin'.
Gee, I wonder if they're bigots at all?
Way I see it, no matter where you spend your money these days it's going to end up somewhere that you wouldn't approve of. Chick-fil-a is just a bit louder about it than others.

Because, no matter your views on anything, this makes you an instant bigot and xenophobe.

I live in Georgia. I frequent the local VFW. I have a granddad that lives in an old folks home and I visit him regularly.
Yes, I'd say it's a safe bet.
That is ok for me because I avoided their overpriced mediocre food anyway.
There are a lot of places where you can get fried chicken that is cheaper and tastier, plus I thought everyone already knew this place was hella conservative.
Yeah it was really obvious when they close on Sunday. They were really up front about Sunday being jesus day or some shit.

I have never heard of this restaurant
I hope the controversy becomes indelibly twined with the restaraunt. for decades.
"hey, they have a chick fil-a in this mall"
"chick fil-a? isn't that the westboro baptist restaurant?"

You are also on Windows Vista and use Internet Explorer, therefore I find your opinion ludicrous.
