I know some girls from St Philomena's who were complaining about this, it's disgusting.
It goes against the catholic religion. So accept that catholics consider it unholy and unjustly. Likewise they need to accept that there are gay people out there. Solution: Stop caring about it, it's really NOT a big deal.
Whether or not some religion finds it wrong does not matter, and it should never matter.
Religion based schooling is absolutely terrible, and I'm not going to accept that they think in such a way.
I'm catholic and study in a catholic school around here we don't discriminate gay persons or gay marriage its just in america where people get all butthurt about it. I dont get it.
If you think it is only in America than you probably are not in any credible institution.
They went to a catholic school by choice so they knew exactly what messages would be taught, they should have attended a mainstream city school that has no religious stance if that's how they feel; and why do they think they can tell Catholics what to believe? It's so hypocritical and almost as if they went out of their way just to cause a scandal.
Uh Catholic schools are "mainstream city schools" here. Other than how they are funded and run they are no different to a secular school.

They, along with public schools (which in the UK are actually private schools) still recieve government funding, in addition to funding they recieve from fees/the church. This puts state schools at a disadvantage as both faith and public schools can afford to pay more competetive wages to attract better teachers.

They cant impose their own batshit insane beliefs on anyone like that. If a catholic is gay, then they are free to deny it all they want, just keep the hell out of other peoples lives.
Damn, I went to a catholic school but if thee was any homophobia it wasn't outwardly spoken. I never noticed any. Now I'm worried my old school could be one of those that is trying to get people to sign this bigoted petition, I hope not.
