then why are you posting and bitching about it nerd.
well that's enlightening :v:
seeing as im a big fan of both games, don't really think i got baited! good try tho
you're acting ultra defensive and you even took a screen cap of non existent shit to prove a point ya got baited
yeah, that's because they didn't have as much previous experience, and had made a completely new game with different mechanics, of course it was gonna take some time for them to get everything right. was dota itself really that balanced when it came out?
I don't think them having enough experience is an excuse, especially since the guy in chage of balance has been doing it for a few years already as DotA's previous maintainer. That, and you can't go six months now without hearing about some big industry person moving over to Riot. Last time it was Ghostwalker from Blizzard. No experience is a weak excuse.
doesnt riot/lol streamers viewbot their streams but ya, espn is huge shit. full hype
Not really, League of Legends is just a incredibly popular streaming game. Active pro players pull in thousands of viewers, more or less depending on the player/team in question. I'd argue TheOddOne is the most popular streamer, and he's currently pulling almost 23,000 people. http://www.solomid.net/streams for those curious to see.
Well this thread went horribly wrong.
In the future you're going to start hearing about hot actresses getting engaged to Pro DOTA players and it is going to be really weird

Sounds cool I'd love to see Dota on TV from time to time.
In the future you're going to start hearing about hot actresses getting engaged to Pro DOTA players and it is going to be really weird
a few starcraft 2 players are married to models/babes. i know incontrol is married to miss oregon 2011 anna prosser.
Glad to see an advancement of the esports scene. I'm a huge LoL player and this makes me really happy.
im just proving that these guys are idiots:
no you're really just showing you're an idiot
no you're really just showing you're an idiot
Nice to see this has devolved to "Your an idiot!" "No, your an idiot!"
can't we just all agree that the Adventure Time MOBA is the best one
Well this thread went horribly wrong.
I'm surprised that there hasn't been a threadshitting ban yet.
I'm surprised that there hasn't been a threadshitting ban yet.
This isn't any worse than when an LoL thread comes up in The News Node. [editline]17th July 2014[/editline] Doesn't make it any less stupid.
The winners of this years International are going to be making more money than the Average American MLS player. I know riot have done much for the e-sport community but Valve is on the way to making it a livelihood, and a quite comfortable one at that. .
Riot pays LCS players a salary and also pays for constant tournaments kind of like NBA/NFL seasons, that's why the prize pool is smaller. Also they don't accept donations for the winnings, that said they probably should.
Because most people that play League are 10~14yr olds and don't have time to learn shit.
Why do people act like a game being harder makes it better? It's one of the most asinine arguments I've seen in the video gaming community. I could make a rule where when you play Dota, or Starcraft that you can only play the game while balancing on one foot and trying to answer a quiz, that definitely makes it harder to master but that doesn't make it fun, or better. That's not to say some of the arguments for Dota aren't valid but simply saying "IT"S HARDER LOL IS EASY" just shows how you can't even think critically.

League is pretty much like checkers, a game anyone can pick up and play and enjoy it, Dota needs time and skill to just learn the basics, but once you are used to the confusing as fuck metagame the game gets far more interesting. Mostly bad wording on my post since i completely hate LoL's toxic community, but i still think League is no way focused on a mature community.
One day I hope that Dota 2 and LoL can be talked about in the same thread without people getting mad. As someone who enjoys watching other people play video games at a highly skilled and/or competitive level, I say this is a huge step for eSports in general. With the LCS being a weekly thing, if other games were doing something like that, I can see in the future a channel on TV dedicated to competitive gaming and other gaming events such as speed run marathons.
This is always funny to watch when people fight over 2 games lol but kudos to valve for making such a big event.
at least riot doesnt use multiple channels to inflate overall viewer count
uhhh i dont see league of legends on this list at all so checkmate nerd
Video games aren't sports. At its absolute best high level play in a competitive game like this is best equated to chess. Chess isn't a sport. It's a game. I don't understand why people are pushing so hard to relabel things.
and most of these people came in over the years, they didn't have all of them back in 2009 [editline]18th July 2014[/editline] i wouldn't call all of those "complex mechanics"
He didn't, he called them more complex mechanics, which in my opinion they are.
I read the first page and half of the second page, and dear god this thread is horrible Please, if you feel like you have gotten a dumb rating on any of your posts in this thread, reflect back on it, and see how you could have said things in a more friendly manner. For fucks sake.
I don't even play or watch Dota 2 but if I download the game will I be able to watch the finals live in-client? Just curious. Might be fun to watch such a big gaming event.

thats three comments from dota players telling me how much of an idiot I am I don't see dota players who posted here getting insulting comments on their page from LoL players. scum.
