If Cox had been armed, this would not have happened.
This is such a poor argument. It implies that anyone who is at risk of being shot (i.e. everyone) should be armed for their own protection, and the idea that everyone should be armed is absolutely insane.

your points don't even make any sense. she was shot unexpectedly and out of the blue. what was she meant to do, reach out for her gun and shoot him when she was bleeding on the ground? real smart americans, real smart
"don't use a death to push your agenda" but it's totally OK to use 50 deaths to push your agenda -- when they aren't your own countrymen
I don't actually follow that idea. I just think the debate is closed in Britain and the arguments for guns don't make sense in this instance even if you did want that debate [editline]16th June 2016[/editline]
where did i say that or anything like that oh nowhere something something self righteous brits
then why are you debating guns? idiot. the only argument for guns as far as I can tell is 'muhh self-defence!!!!' and 'muh freedom!!!!'. muh freedom is not relevant here. muh self defence is also not relevant because she was shot unexpectedly so the point isn't even valid.
also lmao lots of britons want guns so that's just factually incorrect
which is why our democratic parliament voted gun control laws in? how is your argument even workable when a cursory look at british legislation would prove you wrong?

guns aren't a political issue in britain and never really have been. fox hunting is a bigger political issue than some fucking guns. industrial disputes are more newsworthy

There is an extremely, extremely small minority of people within the UK who are licensed to own a firearm. Those who do own firearms are usually those in country estates, where they go hunting. Those guns are then locked away in a safe after use. You cannot legally carry a firearm on your person in public. After the Dunblane Massacre (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunblane_school_massacre) in 1996, stricter gun controls were demanded by a majority of the public- which were then implemented. I don't know a single person who wants to own a firearm, within the UK, for "protection."

my favorite thing is how you hate americans so much that you're bent on arguing with me even though i largely agree with you on the self defense point within the context of this issue and was solely here to point out hypocritical bullshit from some of yall
man yall dont like being called out for hypocrisy do you
What hypocrisy? We live in a democracy, and guns are unpopular. Ergo, gun ownership is significantly prohibited.
man yall dont like being called out for hypocrisy do you
what hypocrisy
How convenient for this to happen a week before Brexit. Still so very awful.
Dodgy statistics which don't make sense upon a cursory look at them. 67% of households have a shotgun? really?!?!!!!! I guess I don't know my own country.
I must only know the 33% of the population who don't own a firearm.
Dodgy statistics which don't make sense upon a cursory look at them. 67% of households have a shotgun? really?!?!!!!! I guess I don't know my own country.
I believe it means what percentage of households that have a firearm have a shotgun/rifle. But because he left out the preceding statistic about total households with firearms it is very misleading.
How convenient for this to happen a week before Brexit. Still so very awful.
Almost like if it was planned - to turn the poll around. I bet some could speculate that way about this.

It's not your problem. Britain doesn't like guns, leave it at that for fucks sake.
i love all the brits in here going THIS IS NO TIME FOR A GUN DEBATE almost immediately after some of those same people triggered a gun debate in the orlando shooting thread ah fellas
A bit different when the UK doesn't actually have a gun problem.
Almost like if it was planned - to turn the poll around. I bet some could speculate that way about this.
Sounds like a ridiculous conspiracy theory I can hear being floated by some absolute idiots.
