I hoped it would be a flop. The Wii was a slap in the face to gaming IMO and I was sad to see it do so well. This new one does seem to be a bit more serious however so we'll see.
woah there motherfucker
I'm still not sold that it's for the hardcore gaming that I've been hearing about I mean the controller layout looks like it will cramp your hand in games.
The Wii was a slap in the face to gaming IMO and I was sad to see it do so well.
Yeah, how did the Wii do so well? It's not like it had good games or anything.

You can still use the Wii Mote and nunchuck, or the new Wii U Pro controller that is like a PS3/Xbox hybrid looking controller.
They say the controller is light and comfortable anyway. But I'm just glad they went with the analog sticks over the slide pads.
the deathmatch at christmas time is approaching.
I have to admit, I'm actually rather concerned about it. The way things are trending, we're going to be completely sold out of pre-order units long before the thing even comes out, much less the holiday shopping season. We don't know how people are going to react when we have to start telling every single person "I'm sorry, but we don't have the system and we aren't aware of any store that does." People usually don't take that well.
It's really sounding like they fixed all the wii's problems, and it's still compatible with wiimotes. The only thing keeping me from selling my wii in order to get one right now is gamecube incompatibility.
Gamestop and EB arn't in the same country so EB Games is other countries while gamestop is mainly america.
Uhh, not exactly. Hell back where I used to live there was a EB Games and Gamestop in the same mall, in they same area a floor apart. You could look out of the Gamestop, down a floor into the food court and see the edge of the EB Games sign around a corner.
I don't know how to break this to you... Amazon and Nintendo apparently have some sort of dispute, as Amazon doesn't sell the 3DS either (Yes the 3DS is on Amazon, but through Amazon certified sellers). My younger brother was forced to preorder through Gamestop when the email went out. Preorder now while you still have the chance.
Well looks like I'm waiting to get it. Because I'm not getting the plain one, I want the other one. Oh well. Thanks though!
Nintendo really have a knack of making great console sales don't they.
I'm not up to date on the whole Wii U deal, is it just me or is the motion control really toned down from the original Wii?
I'm not up to date on the whole Wii U deal, is it just me or is the motion control really toned down from the original Wii?
It is more less since they're now focusing on the tablet, and I don't think you wanna try to swing that around like a wii controller :v:
I really hope more FPS games are made with the wiimote in mind. I didn't play very many, but the ones I did play controlled very nicely.
You don't have to use the tablet controller. If I were to play it for more than an hour or so, my hands would cramp up. I mean, christ, it's a rectangle with a ridge running along the bottom.
When i went to my gamestop they were saying that they had only been taking reservations for less than an hour and already had 6. Im glad i wasnt an idiot and said i would come back later
I can't get one till Christmas. Oh dear.
Honestly, most releases on the Wii U will also be on the PC, and if you have the choice between upgrading or getting a Wii U, just get a new graphics card, and a cpu, possibly a motherboard too if it's under a hundred or split even.

Can the Wii U's controller be used with a wire? I hate wireless controllers with a fiery passion. This thread has helped me learn that Wii Us are available for pre-order. Shit.
it already does come with a game
ment something like Zelda/ and or some other big name game that comes with it not "Nintendo land"
ment something like Zelda/ and or some other big name game that comes with it not "Nintendo land"
b-but it has a zelda minigame though!111 (but seriously nintendo land looks great. not the best launch title but it's still a good one.)
ment something like Zelda/ and or some other big name game that comes with it not "Nintendo land"
Nintendo land looks good though. Nintendo really ballsed up with their e3 demonstration with it though.
Nintendo land looks good though. Nintendo really ballsed up with their e3 demonstration with it though.
im betting they did that so they could fuck around later in the year. Give Microsoft and sony (and fanboys) false hope the wii u isn't going to be popular and plan their holiday stuff accordingly, then nintendo fucks it all up with a low price and a holiday release date. now it's too late for sony and microsoft to pull anything big for the holidays to take everyone off the wii u without doing something batshit crazy.
because parents/consumers grew up with nintendo and their nostalgia made them biased toward whatever they make
it's honestly the best way to sell anything. if you can put your company in their positive childhood memories they are usually a fan for life. ever wonder why disney is so popular
Yeah, how did the Wii do so well? It's not like it had good games or anything.
I actually did buy a wii on release hoping for some good games. They never came so I sold it.
buying a console at launch is nearly always a bad idea i'll wait a year or two until it has a decent library .......unless nomoreheroes3 is announced
ment something like Zelda/ and or some other big name game that comes with it not "Nintendo land"
If I remember correctly, if you pre-order the Wii U from Wal-mart, you could choose the game you want come with it. [editline]16th September 2012[/editline] I don't know about anywhere else, but still...
Can the Wii U's controller be used with a wire? I hate wireless controllers with a fiery passion. [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] but Zelda
Zelda is the main reason I'm buying it, Skyward Sword was really good with the motion controls And I can't get enough of Zelda
