What do you mean OpenGL and DRM?
Microsoft's FUD before release of XP scared everyone into dropping OpenGL and going with DirectX. And there was a lot of talk about secure media being integrated into Windows Vista/7, allowing media companies to enforce their restrictions on your physical hardware.
Also secure boot has nothing to do with Windows 8, it's UEFI.
It's to do with the Windows Certification Program, there should be a requirement there that forces OEM's to give the customer the choice to disable Secure Boot, so there's no doubt in anyone's mind about this stuff.
your just spewing shit out of your mouth.
That's not an argument, that's a personal attack, get out and grow up.
Im trying very hard to resist making a TF2 joke.
Fuck sake, how will I install Furbuntu now?

As for the Vista/7 DRM stuff, I recall reading about that when it came out, but what ever happened to it? I haven't heard anything about it since before they were released so it seems like it wasn't a big deal. Granted Microsoft should allow the option to disable Secure Boot, there's still time in which they could go back and change it. Even if they don't, I assume most OEMs will. I wouldn't expect Dell to though.
All the more reason not to waste money on computers from big box stores.
just wait for windows 9, 8 is going to be shit anyway.
just wait for windows 9, 8 is going to be shit anyway.
If Windows 8 "is going to be shit" then why would you wait for 9? It's going to be the same as 8 with some minor things as Windows 9 is a minor release.
Why does everyone think 8 will be shit? It looks great at the moment.

It's that whole encrypted-HDMI crap that you stumble upon if you want to capture HDMI.
Windows XP: OpenGL Windows Vista and 7: DRM Windows 8: "Secure" boot (watch it get hacked instantly) The only reason I'm sticking with Microsoft is because of god damn DirectX. Until we, as a society, get rid of that piece of shit, I'm stuck with this shit.
what the fuck this post

It had to be added to anything that wanted to use the HDMI cable and only the content creator can say if they are going to look it away while its being transmitted from box to wherever via HDCP. That is true for all computers as they got to follow the spec exactly for them to certify the (insert item here). This was not microsoft's doing and they had to be compliant to offer the support which was going to be used. Besides the master key has been cracked.
