Why is this country continuously going backwards recently, seriously becoming more and more of a shithole. A lot of stuff about our culture is pretty goddamn stupid to be honest, women aren't supposed to work, be independent or even dress how they like according to it. I'd rather have this country be more "westernised" than be traditional. The only thing I personally am fond of is the respect for elders our culture has and that's pretty much it
Buddy you gotta leave that place. Pack up your things and hop on the next flight to somewhere nicer, like Canada.

thanks dhoom 3
That's not fair to say.
I know what's happening in India looks bad, but... that's just the way they live, and we've got to respect that. They don't enforce their policies on us and we don't enforce our policies on them.
people die because of this
Dammit India, get with the program. Being gay is cool now.
You want us to respect discrimination?
Sounds like a good phrase to start a B52 bombing
This is one of the more retarded things the government has done in recent memory. Censorship is holding this country back because it's being run by repressed old farts who try to insulate themselves from the modern world by building a coccoon of imaginary "cultural taboos".
I hate them even more for banning Fallout just because it has a cow called a Brahmin in it. Or even Clone High - the Indian government was partly responsible for it being cancelled.
The problem is that this will never change because the majority keep bringing up their children to mindlessly and strictly adhere to the same bullshit they were forced to, and perpetuating the vicious cycle.
I know of co-workers who act all westernized and liberal until you raise a taboo topic like LGBT rights, only for them to unrepentantly say that gays are an abomination and should be killed. Most of the Indian community I had arrived with when I studied in the UK pretty much shunned me when I told them off after they questioned why I would be living with "those gays" as flatmates (i.e. my Italian roommate and his partner).
Sometimes it almost feels as if I'm an alien in my own land.

"we've got to respect that" lol. I dunno how delusional you are, enough to not realize you are up your own ass apparently, but I don't have to respect backwards views because of them being cultural at all.
I don't know how stupid you have to be to think that it's okay "because it's their culture and they don't hurt anyone else!" Whether they impose it on other people is irrelevant, the fact they do it at all is revolting and has no place in the world. People are starting to not put up with this shit anymore, and clinging to it because culture is absurd and a pathetic reason to allow discrimination.

What is stupid is the basis for this decision - usually, when this country of mine makes a retarded decision, it's usually as a means to either pander/placate some religious group. The thing is, I doubt anyone in India could've known anything about the game at all for them to ban it, so that means they went and proactively took a decision on this, despite knowing that the number of people who would even be aware of this to be offended would be damn near negligible.
What else can you expect from a party that had been aligned with a ultra conservative hindu nationalist party for years?
No clue who the characters yet, but a lot of similar legislature will only impact male on male sex. Not female on female.
Not to offend you Indian people out there but youre missing out on the finer stuff in life ;D
