You could probably just go to Canada and bring the empty cigarette pack out
[Insert stupid comment about how every smoker does it to seem cool and they're stoopid and they should stop doing whatever they want]
This is alarming that more youngs start smoking, but this is really annoying as a respectful smoker who doesn't blow smoke on anyone's face and smokes a few daily (a pack lasts me 3 to 4 days) to be treated as some sort of subhuman retard. Let me and every smoker do whatever we want with our bodies, as long as we're not being jerks about it.
Never have I seen anyone telling their friends "you should totally smoke you'll look cool" nor do I see smokers smoking next to non smokers on purpose. The few that do aren't monsters, just ask them if they can back off a bit and they'll most likely do it.
You're still poisoning yourself and the people around you, why should we respect that?
I went on a roadtrip to oklahoma with my dad, sister, and her boyfriend. Well, they all smoke, i don't. My eyes fucking burned the whole way there and I had constant headaches for the entire 18 hour journey.
Its fucking gross, kids doing it young is even worse than adults doing it because they aren't done growing yet and that shit'll screw with your growth. You won't smoke in my car, you won't smoke in my house, and I will not go to the store and buy you more smokes. You wanna kill yourself, do it on your own time on your own property on your own dollar.
There are several reasons people like smoking that are not necessarily being cool or doing it for the hell of it. I for one enjoy the taste of tobbaco and like a guy who loves wine, I can make a significant difference between different brands of tobbaco. It indeeds relaxes to just sit there doing nothing and smoke a cigarette, it helps cope with stress (it is arguable, but no smoker or ex-smoker will deny that) and you're usually more forthcoming with people when you're smoking. I can't even count the amount of people I met and still hang out with because I asked for a lighter or just started chatting with on a cigarette break.
It also helps with boredom related issues. When you've got nothing to do but wait or go to some place, the gesture you do by smoking and the act of inhaling itself just keeps you busy and it feels like time goes faster or something.
That's why it's so hard to understand why people like it being a smoker, you have to become one to understand.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating smoking, it kills people, it fucks people's lungs and when you're a jerk, it annoys people. Just helping non-smokers understand why smokers... well, enjoy it despite the huge risks.

I am so incredibly skeptical of second hand smoke. Somebody can suck down cigarettes for 50 solid years and still be alive and you're worried that a couple wisps of loose smoke will give you cancer?
My bullshit detector is going haywire.

my cousin lives in vancouver, maybe she would mail me a pack or two.
I saw 4 kids smoking cigarettes while unlocking my bike today, they were both extremely loud and acted like pricks who didn't understand the meaning of personal space. Asked them to move and all I got was from the main one who was busy puffing away "u wot, fuk off".
Felt like slamming the little shit.
You're still poisoning yourself and the people around you, why should we respect that?
I'm poisoning myself and make sure I'm not poisoning people around me, like most smokers. I'm not asking for you to suddenly be "yay cigarettes are great!", just asking for people to give us a break, as long as we're not messing with your health, we should be free to fuck ours.

Secondhand smoke was a thing when people smoked indoor at restaurants or cafés. Now that it's banned in most public places, at worst you'll catch a bit of the smell and be annoyed by it.
Just ask the smoker to back off a bit and he'll do so, if he's a dick, just move 2 feet away, how hard can it be.
smoking is fine as long as it's green stuff

The effects of smoking are being extremely overexaggerated to make people quit.
It reminds me of when the government claimed that marijuana could kill you instantly in the 50's :v:

Got those in France too, we end up collecting them.
I wouldn't say that this story is wonderful. Even if you smoke while your young it doesn't mean giving up when you're older will magically stop any health problems.
As far as I know, a smoker's health is more or less regenerated after 20 years of being clean. The lungs, for example.
Its because smoking is cool

Most of them are probably chavs.
More than half of my high school smokes.
It's a growing trend, and it frankly scares me.
We're supposed to be the best high school in the country, but more than half of the people here got trough their parents' friends and shit.

What does this have to do with anything, some of the best intellectuals we had during the 20th century were heavy smokers.

Not necessarily cancer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-21067532
You won't stop a trend with a health warning..
Shisha smoking has become a massive trend and there are no warning labels there yet it's a LOT worse for you than smoking a cigarette.
What does this have to do with anything, some of the best intellectuals we had during the 20th century were heavy smokers.
That doesn't justify their actions, though. Smoking is undoubtedly a dumb decision.

to be fair mcdonalds isn't that unhealthy. at least their burgers aren't. tons of sodium, but besides that it's just another low nutrition, high calorie meal; the same as you would get from most other restaurants.
I started smoking 3 years ago because it helped me out with my great deal of anxiety I get from everything. But I do regret it, as I didn't really realize how big of a trap the addiction is.

If you became addicted to eating 20 a day then they probably would

that wasn't the point.
the point is people want warning labels on something that might kill them, yet disregard everything else that can meet that criteria.
heck let's put a warning label on a bus "Don't stand in front or you will die".
That doesn't justify their actions, though. Smoking is undoubtedly a dumb decision.
unhealthy, sure. dumb, very debatable. the very notion of a dumb decision is pretty one sided, as it's truly up to a single individual to decide.
If anything I'd smoke one of there

Even though I hate smoking I do like the aroma of those things. It acctualy is smoke-able and is not full with shit nobody needs and only makes you addicted.
maybe I've been watching too much of this:
