Oh man, that siren at 2:30 gave me shivers. Sounds like something from HL2.
Wow, and then 22:30. That's chilling.
So? All it means is just an extra click.
I just think it's better to just leave a link if embedding the video doesn't work.
it's the ghost of tsunami's past
It's Jesus
He is an FP'er too. Good job
probably one of the worst too
I don't know, the exclamation marks and the avatar really show it as sarcasm guys.
He is an FP'er too. Good job
to be fair this is cowa
I love how in some tsunami videos everyone's screaming and stuff and in this particular one everyone is calm. There wasn't much panicking going on anywhere. I can understand some of what they say. Some guy says "This is awful..." once in a while and the other talks about his car when the water starts reaching the parked cars.

wow
I know a guy just like this.
He's awful.
nobody is chill as fuck when there's a god damned tsunami ravaging everything you own
Some people in the video ARE chill as fuck though.
A tsunami seems like a kind of silent killer.
At first it seems only some water flowing, but it never stops coming and before you know it a whole city is fucked up.
Some people in the video ARE chill as fuck though.
Probably shock to be honest.
wow
this guy is such a dick
it's cowabanga so i don't know if it's serious or a joke
We can hope though.
There's always hope.
Jesus didn't realise it was that long ago now D:
It's just annoying. Like does it kill the OP to at least check before he clicks submit? The "Preview Post" button exists for a reason.
so you'd rather have just a hyperlink?
that's more irritating than a gigantic embedded video because it's small as fuck and hard to click
it's cowabanga so i don't know if it's serious or a joke
it's rocket science for you people isn't it
so you'd rather have just a hyperlink?

Yes, I would. It's one click instead of two and unless you have the hand-eye coordination of a blind man it takes around the same amount of precision to open up the vid in the first place.
I think that white thing is vapor/gas, it's not climbing into the house it's dissipating.
Yes! This is exactly what it is! You can see another one behind a tree at 10:30ish, close to where the one at 10:47 shows up. You can actually see them all over the video

was making, uploading, and posting this image worth the effort to show your displeasure at having to open a new tab
Probably shock to be honest.
It really differs. Some groups of people scream a lot and go "yamete kore!!" (stop already!) at the water, like in some other video I watched, some groups just silently watch, and others comment and stuff, like this one.

In this one you can hear people laughing and everything, when the water starts coming he laughs and goes "Woah, seriously?" and when the big wave starts coming he says "Here it is, here it is!" and, as the people in that shorter building are seen walking around he goes "Idiots, idiots, run!" and after the wave hits the building he goes "Is everyone in there okay...?" The building was hit by the wave but it didn't collapse or get taken away so I presume they were okay but soaked.
Overall, all the right reactions but in a not panicky manner. Everyone was ordered to evacuate so most people sorta knew what to expect. It's just sad so many people either didn't get the memo or didn't manage to get to a safe area in time.
And just as an enema cleans the poop pipe of many humans, so too was this river cleansed of debris... and then the retaining walls... and then houses...
Being stationed in Japan I was one of the first Americans to show up at Sendai when this shit happened. I've seen some shit... The Humanitarian aspect of the mission was good, something I'm very proud of. Pulling frozen bodies out of the water and watching houses float by in the ocean? No so much. Especially the empty boats and floating houses. The Tsunami simply ripped the thousands of boats moored pier side along the coast off the docks, those that didn't wash up on land were thrown out to sea. It's a very jarring and surreal feeling to see those kinds of things, every hour or so you'd see a floating ghost ship. Any bodies we found (We found quite a few) were pull out, zipped up and handed over to the Japanese coast guard for proper ID and burial.
People need to understand that this was March, March in Japan is really fucking cold, the Ocean around the coast was roughly -15c or less. Hell most areas still had a bit of snow on the ground.
He's a photo on my boat of a house that floated by, among other pictures I took.

At about 10:48 on the video it looks like something is climbing out of the water.
Literally the second, the third, and the fourth post in this thread.
[editline]17th August 2013[/editline]
I remember seeing live helicopter footage of cars driving, trying to get away from the water. The helicopter would pan away, and when it came back, the cars were gone. :(
It happens in 10:32 too, yeah it's gas or water vapour
It also happens at 11:24 between the buildings.

The worst thing in the entire world is when people post full-screen screenshots of their browser, and they don't have any porn in any tabs or bookmarks.
Also I think we need to invest in what I call, "kamikaze diggers". A massive group of volunteers with shovels who dig as deep of a hole as possible pre-tsunami. Of course they will be equipped with the finest of shovels and a full suit floaty to emrege from the hole once flooded out. Not only that but they will have waterproof depth finders attached to their body used for compitions that will include fame and prizes.
