Meh, if there's one anime studio I'd trust to make my comic fucked up it's Mad house. They're the one anime studio that doesn't pander to the "Omg so kawaii and manly and beefy" crowd, but instead goes for the mindfuckery. In an industry filled to the brim with garbage aimed at kids and people with no lives it's refreshing to see a studio like Mad House do something with the animation style that is completely different and fucked up.
Not that I'm saying they'll fuck up the comic, but make it fucked up.
Have any of you watched Paranoia agent? Good fuckity god what the hell.
Also wolverine looks like crap, but hey, it can't be as bad as what they did to deadpool in the wolverine movie.

His hat is still stupid.
I swear if Japan goes as far as even touching Watchmen, I'll pull a Rorschach on their asses.

I kinda cringed when we Americans turned it into a movie. Lord knows what the Japanese would do to it.

They could always turn Silk Spectres' tits into massive wrecking balls, like they do with almost every girl.
His hat is still stupid.
Compelling argument.
Compelling argument.
The logic is infallible.

Actually that's kinda common in western comics too. I IS the "most common superpower".

This is true, there was a little girl, looked maybe 6 styled like that, and it was in western thingy too.
It's all cartoons to me.

1000 get.
Wolverine looks like a faggot, also what the fuck ghosts or demons or some shit? Lame, lame, and lame.
Wolverine looks like a faggot, also what the fuck ghosts or demons or some shit? Lame, lame, and lame.
Could be worse, Robert Liefeld could be drawing it and writing it.
Oh who am I kidding it looks terrible.
rofl did the artist rip that off some German propaganda poster?
i dunno it seems like it
That's not Wolverine, that's a samurai with blade hands.
Oh great, another thing for the Japanese too screw up.
Can we just call the Wolverine one something else? Because it doesn't fucking look anything like him besides the claws.
Bah, I don't like the Iron Man one, the style is a little too stretchy and bouncy animation wise and a little too silly looking with all the bright colours, I would have been hoping for something a little more ghost in the shell esque. It looks a little like a talented yet overexcited child's take on cyberpunk.
Japan knows how to do robots. And that's exactly what Iron Man will be. And it will be good.
Wolverine on the other hand looks like a giant trailer made by amazingly artistic trolls.
So I hope this falls somewhere in fucked up near Paranoia Agent.

That shit was weird.

Hey hey hey. Paranoia Agent was awesome. AND it had a great soundtrack.
Oh no.
fucking get over it there are few actual mature mangas or animes (anime in itself is designed for children)
The majority of it is to satisfy sexual urges (in males and females alike) and to have a story that is so riddled with fantasy it allows the reader/watcher to escape their concept of reality and their own life (aka what we do with games)
I went through the weeaboo phase
what everyone says is true
It's terribly melodramatic, over dramatic, and childish. In the adult world few graphic novels of any culture are able to obtain any form of respect and unless you intend to move your ass to japan (where they'll overwhelmingly despise you) you'd better get yourself attuned to your own culture otherwise you'll be looked down upon as an adult. It's fine as a childish escape, but you have to grow up sometime.
There are two or three mangas that are okay in my eyes: Trigun (simply because I grew up with it and I'm a sucker for Science Fiction / westerns), and two seinens I happened across about post World War three united states (was seinen directed at the older generations)
regardless, while there may be exceptions, as stated before
what everyone says is correct
anime is full of bullshit and you're going to be laughed at if you don't grow up
go ahead, I encourage you to talk to any well educated professor about manga and he'll not only laugh at you for still reading comic books well into your twenties but then he'll laugh even harder for them being japanese comic books, as if you feel you're so estranged from your own culture that you have to run off to some other culture that will never ever apply to you or ever accept you
You don't know what you're talking about, do you.

Since when the fuck did Pepper have green hair?!
Anime tends to fuck shit up.
americanization of anime fucks it up and I'm pretty sure that will also go the other way around. Madhouse is a good studio, but ugh... But who knows, it may work, but i doubt it, looks like shit.
The wolverine one just reminded me of that part of the Animatrix

I hate Japan.
Aww wolverine-kun is so pretty and sexy, I would totally turn gay for him.

Everything here is total bollocks. You actually don't know what you are talking about.
At all.
By the whey, my professors have gone as far as to reference anime in lectures.
I am tired of hearing "Grow up" all the time. Grown up people are so boring and unoriginal. Some people live to have fun, and you can't have fun if you're grown up.

Growing up means to be able to be a child at heart but behave like a grown up man by society's standard when needed to.
People that thinks growing up means to BE a grown up man by society's standard are usually childish and try to force themselves to be grown up so they can look down on those who are not. You know, like when you are a child you usually want to be old so you can have some control, or be able to play that game or watch that movie, makes you so badass.
But being grown up has many meanings, and it's also dependant on what career you're aiming for.

Some anime is for Children, most is for teens and some also for young adults. But like most things for teens/young adults there will always be a big bunch of grown-ups that likes it too.
Indeed there are some shows purely made for sexual lust filling the show with boobs ass and vagina to make the watcher hardcore happy and hope to sell their merchandise (dvds, dolls, pillows, hugging pillows, clothes, watches whatever, depends on the studio and their budget/popularity of the show).
Then the general bunch has fanservice in it (big boobs, obligatory beach episode, sexual misunderstandings, harem) and a plot ranging from mediocre to usable or even, pretty good.
Then there are gold corns hidden in the hay that has either some fanservice or none at all and a plot ranging from usable to fucking good. In a year there is produced around... 4-12 gold corns out of 100-150 shows.
I don't see what this has to do with culture in any way. And here in Norway there really isn't any specific form of a culture. Everything is borrowed, we hardly air anything but british or american crap on the television. (Though stuff like House, Dexter, Trublood, Heroes is nice, but I don't watch TV very much as most of the time they just send generic american shitty shows. Good anime beats american shows by a mile, mediocre to average anime is on-par with american shows but more interesting because they tend to have much more variety as they send a hell lot of more different shows instead of being stuck up in airing the same goddamn show for 3-7 years even if it really sucks or it's just the same over and over and over and over again).
If you ran away from the culture through anime it doesn't mean we do. I hate it when people take it as a fact that people did exactly what they did, sadly that's how we all are pretty much, we have nothing else to take it from than our own experiences, unless you look up others of course, but your own will always be the most dominate one has you've actually felt it yourself. I do it myself, right now.
It's just as melodramatic or overdramatic as the shit they send on our TV, it's not different there at all, not on the childish level either. Our American tv is filled with sexual jokes, sexual bodies and everything, but usually less toned down of course because we are using real people, not drawings. And I don't see how it is an escape, I even use anime as a learning source as I'm aiming for a job as a graphical designer. Colours (the stuff SHAFT produce especially), animation shortcuts, interesting angles (especially SHAFT here too), what stuff I should be aware of when writing or producing a movie/short video, what do I dislike and what do I like, what is it that made this scene so funny or bad? Everything really. This also includes for real movies or shows of course.
If you like Sci-fi and western there is a lot more you would like to watch.
Most anime is bullshit :eng101:
You won't be laughed at for liking it unless you dramatize it and only talk about it. Just like people obsessed with collecting stuff will be laughed at. People that play WoW 24/7 will be laughed at. People that only read books will be laughed at. People that watch movies all day will be laughed at.
It applies to everything, behave normal and no one will look down on your for it or laugh at you, unless they are dicks.
A well educated professor like that will laugh at you for anything if you're not also well educated, because he is an arrogant dick that feels he is the best because he knows a lot of advanced stuff.
And who the fuck cares what a fucking professor thinks of you anyways? I'd rather care about my FRIENDS instead of some professor ass.
And once again, not related to fleeing from your culture. Unless loving spanish music or loving mexican food, or be amazed by the Vikings or whatever also is fleeing from your culture.
Christ what are you doing here dgg?
