So they made the comic into a cartoon into a real movie into an anime. Ok. What is left?
So they made the comic into a cartoon into a real movie into an anime. Ok. What is left?
A game. An eroge. A doujinshi (spelling?). A visual novel.
Christ what are you doing here dgg?
I check the news now and then. Just that people dying, girls getting pregnated, war, politics, world financials and stuff doesn't really interest me.
The wolverine one just reminded me of that part of the Animatrix
Awesome.
I am tired of hearing "Grow up" all the time. Grown up people are so boring and unoriginal. Some people live to have fun, and you can't have fun if you're grown up.
Don't be stupid, who writes new books? Grown ups. Who makes new games? Grown ups. Who came up with Iron Man and Wolverine? A grown up. Age means fuck all in the way of creativitiy, children come up with the most unoriginal shit there is every child imagines themselves as a fireman or someone who kills aliens or whatever the fuck.

Also a lot of firemen out there, important job too, and a lot better than thinking you will become a burgerflipper at Macdonalds. MOST of the adults nowadays just milks the franchises, they don't bother coming up with new stuff, they just re-use the same stuff that works so they can earn money and have something to do. Take that tank from that game, re-design it. Take that flight from that movie and re-design it. Take two, three movies/games and merge their plot or run by a similar plot. Make some generic characters. Whoopdedoo. Oh, and yeah. Explosions, lots of them, break the fucking walls, blooooood, bloooooom, HDR. Yadda yadda. Most stuff doesn't do new stuff, they just fight about who can show off their graphic skills them most. Best CGI in movies. Most real graphics in games. (Read as: Most plastic imitation)
Well it could have been worse. It could have been Spiderman or Superman or even the Fantastic Four
I check the news now and then. Just that people dying, girls getting pregnated, war, politics, world financials and stuff doesn't really interest me.
And men punching monkey?! :buddy:
And men punching monkey?! :buddy:
Well yeah. But what is there to say? Nothing except for "witty jokes", just rate a funny and move a long.
Why are you defending animes when really you should be defending the whole genre of cartoon. I don't see why animes get to be classified to differently from cartoons just because where they come from. And don't tell me now that it's the style. It just so happens that the country dictates the style, and the country also dictates the genre for some reason. You'd be pretty quick to call something of the same style, but made in america, not anime. They just like watching japanese cartoons for some reason
:words:
Cartoons made in Japan have certain trends. Same as cartoons made in America. So yes, it has a lot to do with the country.
Wolverine was my favorite, and now he looks like the center of a yaoi comic. What the fuck japan? Where is my burly bacon eating badass Canadian motherfucker? Why replace pure awesome with a spoiled looking samurai bitch. I don't know about Iron man, I need to wait and see more.
Just because one studio sucks doesn't mean all anime sucks.

And they are different really as Eestern cartoons and Eastern cartoons have different things they set focus on. (Also the placement really is the main factor though many do not agree) Western cartoons has a much more pressure on heroes, someone magnificent beating up bad guys and facing ultimate villians. Showing that even the best of the best screws up at times but by not giving up, or by having friends and accept their help you will always manage to win. Western cartoons usually puts pressure on making kids believe and work hard. Eastern cartoons on the other hand has a pressure on the ordinary and what goods there are out there in the normal world and how even someone as useless as you can help people and aren't really all that useless after all. Also porn. So eastern cartoons puts more pressure on motivating kids to live life and enjoy all the simple things. But both of course share things in common. The fanservice stuff isn't really much different, just the level of it, there is a lot more fanservice in eastern cartoons. "What fanservice in western?", look at the women, especially in Marvel comics. Wonderwoman or Catwoman (is that her name?). And anime is called anime because it's animation made in the eastern regions (generally Japan) this includes 3D too. Though most people seem to be stuck up in that specific drawing style (that is based of the early works of Disney) is Anime. Oh, and Western cartoons... They hardly ever have a story, not the animated ones at least. Anime on the other hand actually has a plot and story (though there are of course many brainless episodic shows, but the main bunch follows a story)
Wolverine was my favorite, and now he looks like the center of a yaoi comic. And trust me, Madhouse is a good studio. I'm going to give both a try, and well, my policy is to watch something to the end if I begin on it, so it's not really a try, I'm going to watch them. But I don't expect them to be good.
Hey hey hey. Paranoia Agent was awesome. AND it had a great soundtrack.
Oh yeah, I loved it. But you cannot say it wasn't weird.
It can be assumed that the average Facepuncher will dislike anime for being anime/weeabooish. It can also be assumed that the average Facepuncher will forget his hate for anime if furries are mentioned. Unless it's a furry that hates anime. Which I think is hypocritical. I don't see why people dislike anime or furries, I pretty much have a policy of non-discrimination, but whatever. dgg pretty much said everything perfectly, so I don't really have too much to add. Anyway, though it's been said, that Ironman one looks pretty cool. I thought the wolverine one looked okay, until I actually saw all of "wolverine" standing there.
Must the Chinese people ruin every fictional thing in existance?
Must the Chinese people ruin every fictional thing in existance?
Not Chinese. It's spelled existence. I feel like your statement fails much harder than it should. Seems like people forget about this piece of crap called Hollywood. And the general mass of American Entertainment that is forced upon most of the European television. I think it's getting quite ridiculous with all these "move to anime" (eng to jap) and "anime to movie" (jap to eng) things going on recently. But at least it's better than going for the same shit over and over and over and over again. Well I finally watched the trailers (just been judging from two pictures in the Fast Anime thread.) Well, yeah. Looks like crap. Wolverine has waaaaay too much one framed art just sliding around. It's like... Goddamit, MOVE ALREADY. Iron Man... Looks like generic mecha crap that tries to stuff in as many badasses, missiles and glowing shit as possible. But at least they animated it quite well.
Hahah, that wolverine thing is as cliched as fuck. Really, flying about slashing at something and then landing dramatically and posing as he explodes is not cool, its like fucking power rangers. Iron man was good until the strange villan guy who is typically anime-ish.
Oh great. So Halo, Iron Man and Wolverine are all being Japified. Who's next? Spider Man? I... Wait... OH GOD
Why the fuck is wolverine some skinny-ass ninja asshole?
The Ironman anime looks good. Most things against that I'm guessing is just the I hate anime bandwagon. Wolverine however they fucked up bad. Why is a long haired pretty boy killing 2 demons and death with retractable claws? That was not wolverine.
Iron man looks half assed, didn't like the " zomfg 1 super fast melee hit and enemy dead " that they superspam in most animes, I want to see shit, like in the Iron man movie, might watch it, not mutch for anime. Wolverine on the other hand, is an outrage!
Remember when they made animated spinoffs of movies and games rather than anime spinoffs?
Remember when they made animated spinoffs of movies and games rather than anime spinoffs?
I do. Transformers still looks ridiculous.
Everything here is total bollocks. You actually don't know what you are talking about. At all. By the whey, my professors have gone as far as to reference anime in lectures.
That's really quite strange how old are they, exactly
That's really quite strange how old are they, exactly
If you want the opinion of an average person, a professor is that last type of person you should ask.
That's really quite strange how old are they, exactly
Why would it be strange. There is always something you can learn from any medium/profession/hobby/whatever. Everything can be used depending on the context. Using anime in a lecture isn't any different than using a movie or tv show. They contain the same stuff just done in different ways. You really are one of those "You're too old for this" kind of persons aren't you. FUCK YOU, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT IF YOU ENJOY IT, YOU'RE TOO FUCKING OLD FOR IT MAN! I'd also like it if you replied to my post since I love these discussions, and if you haven't read it, read it.
The Wolverine one looks kinda gay, but holy shit the Iron Man one looks fucking incredible. [editline]08:25PM[/editline]
fucking get over it there are few actual mature mangas or animes (anime in itself is designed for children) The majority of it is to satisfy sexual urges (in males and females alike) and to have a story that is so riddled with fantasy it allows the reader/watcher to escape their concept of reality and their own life (aka what we do with games) I went through the weeaboo phase what everyone says is true It's terribly melodramatic, over dramatic, and childish. In the adult world few graphic novels of any culture are able to obtain any form of respect and unless you intend to move your ass to japan (where they'll overwhelmingly despise you) you'd better get yourself attuned to your own culture otherwise you'll be looked down upon as an adult. It's fine as a childish escape, but you have to grow up sometime. There are two or three mangas that are okay in my eyes: Trigun (simply because I grew up with it and I'm a sucker for Science Fiction / westerns), and two seinens I happened across about post World War three united states (was seinen directed at the older generations) regardless, while there may be exceptions, as stated before what everyone says is correct anime is full of bullshit and you're going to be laughed at if you don't grow up go ahead, I encourage you to talk to any well educated professor about manga and he'll not only laugh at you for still reading comic books well into your twenties but then he'll laugh even harder for them being japanese comic books, as if you feel you're so estranged from your own culture that you have to run off to some other culture that will never ever apply to you or ever accept you
So basically, we should all listen to you in spite of the fact that you're a bigoted cock-juggling thundercunt, because you're supposedly too educated to like anime. :dogout: should never have been removed.
The Iron Man one reminds me a lot of Big O..
