What?
Scotland compared to America; in general we've got a much more trusting community type feel. Of course there's exceptions to the rule.
The police aren't telling them to leave because it's a dumb protest (It is). They're telling them to leave because
A) It's a public park
B) Until the rapist is caught, there's no telling how much trouble could go on there. People could throw accusations around, people could get stabbed, etc.
Because of both of those, they've told them to leave within the next X days. Of course though, this isn't the first time you haven't understood culture differences Zeke; hence why you should stop posting things about other cultures.
Where is "here"?
You really couldn't put two and two together? Scotland..

Huh
Nothing is different there, come on
Huh
Why would I say 'things are different here' if I'm not Scottish? Why are you posting in this thread anyway; you always get yourself confused by almost every culture difference imaginable.
[editline].[/editline]
Stop ninja editing your posts, by the time I reply you've changed content and then my reply suddenly looks dumb. There's a lot different here; even when compared to the rest of the UK.

So the fact that law enforcement is exploiting a rape to get what they want isn't evidence that law enforcement in Scotland will exploit a rape to get what they want?
So the fact that law enforcement is exploiting a rape to get what they want isn't evidence that law enforcement in Scotland will exploit a rape to get what they want?
They aren't exploiting the rape. If you understood our culture you would understand that it's safer for the protesters not to be there until the rapist is caught.
But of course you don't, you don't understand any non-american culture.

This isn't a cultural issue, it's a political issue, and politics are a global language

Yeah, let's just let fights break out in the group of protesters and watch as they stab each other.
That's what would happen if rape accusations/rumours started. People would get beaten up; people might die.
That's what you don't understand. Plus, the protesters didn't have permission to set up camp in a public park in the first place. They aren't moving the protesters on because they want rid of them; they're moving them on for public safety.

The fact that they're camping in a public place without permission isn't really much to do with public safety, though.

Wow Scotland sounds like a shithole. Guess I really didn't understand just how terrible your culture was. You win!
The fact that they're camping in a public place without permission isn't really much to do with public safety, though.
All it would take is a few people to claim someone was the rapist and suddenly you'd have a whole group of Glaswegians waiting to give them a boot to the head.
Wow Scotland sounds like a shithole. Guess I really didn't understand just how terrible your culture was. You win!
Yeah kids, beating up rapists is bad!
Why don't you just take your lack of thinking things through back to Canada; I hear it's the norm there.
All it would take is a few people to claim someone was the rapist and suddenly you'd have a whole group of Glaswegians waiting to give them a boot to the head.
I'd say the general populace of Glasgow is probably a bit less barbaric than you suggest.
Wow Scotland sounds like a shithole. Guess I really didn't understand just how terrible your culture was. You win!
We all live in caves and communicate through deep frying things.
I'd say the general populace of Glasgow is probably a bit less barbaric than you suggest.
Generally yes. But think; the ones who are more violent will be the ones with time to attend dumb 24/7 protests.
Generally yes. But think; the ones who are more violent will be the ones with time to attend dumb 24/7 protests.
I dunno, I'm assuming a good portion of the protest was made up of students.

There are always some chucklefucks who do bullshit like this and ruin the entire thing. Can they just, not be jackasses for fucks sake?
I dunno, I'm assuming a good portion of the protest was made up of students.
I guess there could be a good few. I don't see why any would care though. I can see the neds pretending to care just to cause some trouble though. And then some unemployed because they feel they aren't getting much compared to the "1%" or whatever their argument is.

This moron does not speak for me and my peoples.
Glasgow has turned in to a shit hole anyway, murder capital of Europe anyone?

I think if you want to make this an argument about culture you really should stop painting your culture as a bunch of savage morons. I know it isn't true, and you're just ruining your own argument at this point.
As I said - this is politics, not culture

Shut up American pig dog. You do not understand our ways. We are all made of knives and knife each other if anyone mentions rape or knives.
Edited:
And now I have killed my entire family because knives
Glasgow has turned in to a shit hole anyway, murder capital of Europe anyone?
Not quite true. Stab capital of Europe; friendliest city in Scotland. This is basically what my point is, there's two contrasting types of people in Glasgow. There's far more friendly/non violent than there is violent though.
Glasgow has turned in to a shit hole anyway, murder capital of Europe anyone?
You say that like you're asking for another round.
I've lived here all my life and I have personally never been murdered.
My dad was a knife once.
So was I wrong
Is there really a problem in Scotland where large groups of people will turn into a frenzy of violence at the mere accusation of a rape or what
Because it seems there WAS a rape, and everyone managed to handle it calmly
My dad was a knife once.
It's true. He murdered me

No, do not allow this man to colour your opinion of our culture. We have roughly the same amount of rape and crime if you adjust for population. People handle things with a degree of respect and intelligence similar to how they probably do wherever you happen to live and how most would regardless of background, religion, upbringing etc.
But what the fuck do I know, all I do is murder people and obese.

No. But if a group of neds / similar more violent people were involved, you can't guarantee that it will end without a stabbing. Especially for example, if a ned was going out with the girl who got raped. But that's similar to in most other places in the world I guess.
if someone had sex with her without her consent, it's rape. how can you throw it around if there's only one way to use it?
your attitude is what shames victims from reporting the crime.
why do you feel it's a distinct possibility? how do you blow it out of proportion?
think about what you're posting, please.
If a woman has drunk sex, she is able to claim rape.
That's dumb. That could be an example.

So it's important to shut down a protest because there might be a stabbing?
Why not shut it down because a plane might crash into it instead? Or maybe a wolf will come out of nowhere and start attacking people.

Zeke, just get out, you don't have ANY idea what you are talking about. The culture in Canada is a whole lot different to that in the UK and you seem to be misunderstanding that.

They had no right to be there in the first place. It just showed there is a large potential for crimes to happen and for the police to be near powerless in finding the person responsible.
