No they don't. Prison is awful.
Compared to living in a dark basement I think it's quite nice.
Death penalty is so wrong. No one has the right to choose who lives and who dies. And if you kill the convict you are acting just like him, or worse.

Go read some more Nietzsche and cut yourself
Wow, I've been getting to use that line a lot lately.
Nihilism is one thing. In fact, a bit of nihilism is humbling and healthy. Couple it with that angst I'm picking up in your posts and you got yourself a shortcut to an OD on sleeping pills

Well if we're allowed to quote world-changing philosophers like that:
Branded in pain
Marked criminally insane
Locked away and kept restrained
Disapprobation, but what have I done?
I have yet only just begun
To take your fuckin' lives!
-Slayer, "Criminally Insane"
So it's obvious that a mere life imprisonment is not enough.
Badass, I would choose firing squad over lethal injection any day of the week, personally if I was in charge of the death penalty, you'd tell the prisoner their execution date or whatevs, then about a week before hand, go into their cell in the middle of the night with a suppressed pistol and put a bullet through their head in their sleep, hell of allot cheaper, and a hell of allot less scary, no chance of waking up in the middle of your execution as it will only take half a second.
But even so, I would take firing squad over lethal injection any day, lethal injection would scare the shit outta me, just blindfold me then riddle me with holes plz.

I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime.
Reflecting on my past life and it doesn't have much time.
'Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows Pole,
The sands of time for me are running low...
Running low--ooohhh...
When the priest comes to read me the last rites,
I take a look through the bars at the last sights,
Of a world that has gone very wrong for me.
Can it be that there's some sort of error?
Hard to stop the surmounting terror.
Is this really the end, not some crazy dream?
Somebody please tell me that I'm dreaming,
It's not easy to stop from screaming,
But words escape me when I try to speak.
Tears flow but why am I crying?
After all I'm not afraid of dying.
Don't I believe that there never is an end?

Hahaha. That's different from being in prison. One has other people to talk to, the food is good and inmates get time in the prison yard. They have a pretty good standard of living, aside from the butt rape and stabbings.
Okay, so I'll give you a sandbox and a dildo, will that keep you from joining the union?
Okay, so I'll give you a sandbox and a dildo, will that keep you from joining the union?
What's that supposed to mean? I'm a native American, thus already apart of the Union.
And Justice is about being FAIR, not what's "nice" or "humane". It's not fair to the murdered for an untimely death. Do you honestly think it's fair that the murderer then gets to live the rest of his life in a nice little room with a comfy bed, get 3 square meals a day and get state of the art medical care at no cost to him? Fuck no. That's bullshit. Extend that unfairness to the murderer, so he knows what it's like to have his life cut short too.
Since a lot of people who oppose the death penalty are god eating Christians, the death penalty is strongly enforced in the bible, people are stoned to death for less than what we give a fortnight's jail time for. Food for thought.

Touché. However,
Children gather round him,
Mystery surrounds him,
What terrible secret does he hide,
An ordinary man,
Doing what he can,
But what goes on inside his mind.
The night draws nigh,
With darkened sky's,
Axe blade shines,
Midnight chimes.
Morning comes around,
Headless bodies found,
Our little friend just sits and smiles ha ha,
Take them home and love them,
Read the bible to them,
Be sure to kiss each one goodnight.
But come the night,
You'll freeze with fright,
Axe drawn high,
Another dies.
Creeping and searching for victims unknowing,
What fate doth await round each corner,
The take in the night,
He's got you in his sight.
Now that I have warned you,
Always look behind you,
You'll never know just who'll be there,
That harmless looking dear,
May be the one to fear,
So never trust those you don't know.
But come the night,
You'll freeze with fright,
Axe drawn high,
The bastards die.

I honestly don't believe in life as being highly valuable. if you have done a deed, which has cost anothers life, you should feel as capital punishment as being the only way to repay your sin. By "euthanasia" through lethal injection, firing squad, or hanging.. should be acceptable. At a point in time, a local hanging was a spectacle that even the children were even able to join.
He has chosen the guilt, and the way he should accomplish the grieving processes. so let it be.
what fantastic times those were
I know right?! Ahh the old days.
Death by shnu-shnu is the best option
I'd chose the firing squad too, sure LI might be less painful, but what if it isn't? You'd be stuck there, unable to move, talk or do anything and it would hurt like fuck.
The firing squad is guaranteed to kill you quickly. Unless they are assholes and aim for the legs and arms.
Of course, I'd much prefer lifetime.
What if the fellas in the firing squad were really inaccurate? :v:
If you would survive a electric chair/poison injection you 99% go to vegetative state, being a useless vegetable.
Firing squad?
fuck that, strap me to a A-bomb and let's blow something up

I'm so much of an antichristian that I need to coam my hair to keep my horns from showing, Toto.
Either way, there is no fucking excuse to sink to whatever useless peice of crap that gets taken down by the justice system's level, no matter what, not even if you're some genderless republican creep who's so far dug up in the ass of capitalism so that all you can see is his bloodstained shoes after him stomping on taxpayers all day. The death penalty is outdated, I'd die for freedom, any day. I'd rather have my life taken than the right to tell you to go back to the stoneage where you belong with your execution ideals. My point is, taking one's life is nothing comapred th one's freedom, no matter how much you twist and turn it.
So make like your forefathers and get the hell out of here.

You probably wouldn't feel that way if someone murdered your family member in cold blood. In this bullshit country murderers get like 20 years in jail....I know I would have a strong urge to find and kill the criminal myself if the state doesn't do it for me.

What the hell are you talking about? An execution is just a few minutes of joy, and if it wasn't for that my good parent already was dead, and someone would kill him, I'd get alot more joy to visit that person every weekend and taunt that person renentlessly.
...If he killed my current, abusive parent, I'd problably just drop by to give him cake instead...

I oppose the death penalty in this country only because it costs us more to have a trial with capital punishment attached, plus the follow up appeals, than it does to have a regular trial and just let the person rot in prison for the rest of his life.
Besides, they pretty much have to live in fear of being stabbed or raped every day.

You know, a lot of those hangings were of black men who looked at white women the wrong way or similar bullshit.

See, the entire town joined in for the festivities when the good ol' boys from the Ku Klux Klan hanged a darkie for whistling at Mr. Jones's wife.
:haw:
Firing squad is the most humane method of execution anyway.
Providing they hit the head.
I think they should let the man out of prison along with every other prisoner on Earth. Holding people in cages is cruel and unusual and makes them act like animals.

They don't aim for the head.
Contrary to popular belief, there are usually only one or two blanks. The rest being live rounds aimed at the chest. (In the United States)
.22's are actually the rounds of choice for assassin's going for headshots, since the round has enough energy to enter the skull, but not enough to exit, so it'll just ricochet in the brain cavity until it runs out of energy.
