Scaremongering and shit reporting for "propaganda" is disgusting. We're in 2014, It shouldn't be happening.
Except I've seen plenty of shit reporting among the yes camp as well, and to be honest both sides have been often atrocious.

What the Yes or No Groups want to openly report Is up to them.
It's when mainstream media (Such as the BBC) starts to favour 1 side, hindering the other when It's just wrong. I know It's a British organization, but It should have just stayed neutral and reported the facts rather than altering shit.
I read that the second picture was taken on a busy weekend shopping day. Most of the people there were not campaigning.
Source?
Holy shit this is the most embarrassing referendum ever

The BBC has a reputation for being fairly impartial, in addition to reporting on itself. The fact that the OP has one of the articles from the BBC where they show a large crowd of people protesting against "BBC bias" shows that they report on things that even put the institution itself in a bad light.

well yeah of course they'd do it after the big incident that made everybody start calling them biased anyway
Here's another video about the alleged bias
The problem with this video is that it's obviously made by a "Yes" person so as a result it's also biased.
We need a video made by someone who's not really involved.

In a democracy, there are numerous open institutions, freedom of press, and the such, and Britain is particularly good for this. In general, the BBC's reporting of this all has been fairly accurate and comprehensive from what I can tell.
Just check out the BBC website and you will see the alternative viewpoints and articles that are so demanded by yes voters.

I think some of the BBC correspondents are fairly neutral. Robert Peston, the economics one has always struck me as one of the best, he always lays down both sides of the arguments in a fair way, doesn't put any on the 'defending' side. What Nick Robinson did in his report the other day though was just total bullshit and clearly exhibits some sort of bias.
I find this kinda shows the whole problem pretty well:
http://en.ria.ru/analysis/20140913/192917055/Professor-BBCs-Anti-Scottish-Independence-Bias-Increases-as-Vote.html
The main problem is pretty much what that article says. Whenever the BBC are talking about independence, they pretty much always lead with the No campaign, which constantly puts the Yes side on the defensive.
I remember a few weeks ago on reporting scotland, Salmond was being interviewed and he was properly getting really aggressive questioning, and yet the next day when interviewing Darling, he got a really easy interview in comparison.

Try sending them a complaint some time. Unlike the rest of this country's media, the BBC get to regulate themselves. Unsurprisingly, the Trust usually find their broadcasters "get it about right".

Bullshit. Buchanan street isn't even that busy on Christmas eve.
why are we so hung up on keeping the dumb cunts, just saddle them with some fair amount of our debt and let them go do whatever they want.

Your attitude gives the impression that you're just a kid, so I won't even explain to you how stupid your comment Is.
If you are an adult, just wise up. Your attitude Is pathetic.

lol
are there any examples of bias?
I don't know the details of the Nick Robinson thing, but one of the correspondents is clearly a 'Yes' voter. It's her body language I think. She just seems to have a low opinion of the 'No' campaign instead of reporting what's going on.
I haven't seen her much, and any coverage I've seen has been fine.
I hope the BBC hasn't just fucking destroyed any chance of a "No" vote.
Likely the opposite, negative campaigning is actually quite effective because most people have a very cynical nature. If you can make a terrifying headline, the majority of the viewership is going to have read that headline and will walk away with that on their mind. False news stories also thrust the burden of proof onto the people who are on the receiving end of the criticism, thereby delaying their response and the majority of the casual readership walks away with the "RBS is fleeing scotland!!!" story while the SNP has to scramble to reject the claims and provide proof.
I think a more important question(s) is whether or not it is ethically justifiable to falsify information and embed political bias in order to secure a no vote, and what kind of stress one exerts on the political framework in doing so.
about 80 hours to go, shits getting tense

I don't know. I imagine this is big news in Scotland; it's not something that people are going to miss. Given the size of the protests, too, it's easy to imagine that it's persuaded a number of people to vote "Yes".
It's incredibly hard to know, though. All any of us can do, at this point, is wait.

i was there - most of them were
there was a barrier in the side around the old hmv/burton store to let non-rally types by without going through it, maybe about 5-10 people wide at most. the yessers went all the way up and around the cornert hall steps and down to sainsburys by 2pm - when it began to die off
BBC are completely pro-monarchy and anti-drugs, and their bias really shines through on articles covering both subjects.
Their warzone reporting is usually pretty good though, probably their only redeeming point nowadays.
Also fuck the TV license law.

hello
[editline]15th September 2014[/editline]
Actually nah fuck it I honestly have no interest with that topic
I have a question regarding the whole Yes/No vote. If Yes wins does it guarantee the independence movement will move forward and become reality sometime in the (near) future? And if No wins, for how long will the question be put away?
about 80 hours to go, shits getting tense
I'm not looking forward to getting around Edinburgh on Thursday, it's gonna be an absolute mission.
To be fair, anyone voting Yes shouldn't really be voting anyway.

I can't believe how small minded at least 50% of the posters in this thread are, is it that hard to do at least a little research on what's being discussed before trying to undermine the points that are being addressed when you post?
Welp... I get the feeling that no matter what the outcome will be, Scotland will be an independent country sometime in the not so distant future.

The Empire is already over. It ended in 1997, years ago.
