Battlefield 3 PC Version won't have in-game server browser - Polidicks

I don't see they can't allow us to do it both ways. I mean Steam lets us find servers through steam and at the same time through the game so I can't see why we can't choose servers through battle log and at the same time battlefield. It just makes me think they are trying to shove battlelog into are faces which is fine if you like it but not if you don't.

My vista also freezes a lot when I alt tap a game. There is really no good reason why they can't have server browsing through both battlelog and the game.

The server browser in your browser (dawg) is actually really functional, more functional than ones I've seen ingame in most games because it doesn't take 5 hours to get the server list, it's just there instantly. Launching and exiting the game literally takes seconds, and the game plays well with minimizing--no issues at all. If you ask me, they should show us how well it works because people honestly have no way of knowing that it really isn't a problem. On the other hand, there is no reason why it can't have a server browser in game.

Still I would prefer it in-game given the choice.

I'd rather they'd leave a choice between battlelog and main menu just since they already have a server browser in place, but its not as terrible as what the posters on the first page were making it out to be (mainly because I don't think any of them played the alpha.) The game loads servers ridiculously fast, faster than any of my other MP games. Also, while this is a massive assumption, I'm assuming from the backlash, they'll probably end up giving DICE the ability to add it back in. Its almost like EA is trolling everyone just to see people's reactions. There's no way they didn't expect this sort of reaction from the pc community. Maybe they have fun reading retarded knee jerk reactions like the ones on the first few pages.

Its like they're [I]trying[/I] to give me as many reasons as possible not to buy this game, and that is not a good marketing strategy.

I remember how many times I'd switch servers to find a decent game in BF2 and BC2 This is not gonna feel good at all. I understand companies trying to be innovative in many ways but some common sense could be used as well.

Now no server browser. I don't think I'm going to be buying it. Good job EA, you have joined the ranks of Activision and Ubisoft in horrible game companies. Have fun making significantly less money from all the none pc sales you will be making.

How could this happen. I mean in one sense you've given consoles a browser, which is a step forward In the other you've taken PC's browser away slightly, which is a step back. BIG step back.

Which probably takes just as long (or longer if your PC is shite) as just exiting BF3 and restarting from a browser.

AutoLog isn't that bad, but it's not as in your face as BattleLog appears to be. Also, those games have built-in server browsers.

This is on top of forcing me to use Origin to play their game even if I buy it retail. I don't agree with Origin's terms of service (specifically their account termination policies) and I'm not going to use it, for one. Second I'm not going to buy the game and support the de-evolution of PC gaming by doing something so ridiculous as removing the server browser. I'm not here to just bitch. Okay: I see NOTHING wrong with a web browser server list. In fact, I actually prefer it. Ever play Valve games, and servers don't pop up for some reason? Happens with me everytime I play CS:S, so I have to use game-monitor. I welcome this.
